An outcast were fang, Kaydon has taken up the role of a mercenary, traveling from place to place, helping the locals in exchange for money. He seems to have embraced this world fully, rathern than working to escape from it. Almost never seen outside of his transformed gnoll were fang form, he has a bit of a reputation for being very stern and serious, though people who get to know him will find he's actually just a sarcastic goofball who's doing everything he does because it's fun. He wields a massive two handed blade that most would struggle to even lift, often swinging it one handed, and also tends to keep a smaller one handed blade and shield on him for situations where the two hander would be unwieldy.

Other people are at various New Year events. A group of Grunty Races try to make it over the finish line in time to win their prize!

The Morning After 2020 July 12th
A bunch of Adventurers wake up in the early morning, after they just got stranded in this world.
Duty Session 9: Gnoll it All 2020 July 13th
A powerful Gnoll has been reported as creating havoc within one one of the low-level Forest zones. The Berserker and his allies have been making things difficult for both Adventurers and Landers. This encounter seems to only appear at night. The Hunter?s Guild has posted an Obsidian-level Bounty for any brave Adventurers who can defeat Haggar the Gnoll Barbarian.
Duty Session 11: Obligatory Rat Cellar 2020 July 13th
In each of the starting cities, there are at least a couple of poor merchant landers who have developed mysterious rat problems. This is clearly bad for business! A worried looking Lander stands outside their shop, rubbing their hands together, looking anxious, flagging down any passing Adventurer they can find to help.

(Note: This Duty has multiple possible paths/challenges/rewards.)
Alne Investigation 2020 July 14th
A group of players trying to gather more concrete information about their situation investigated around Alne, discussed with other players, and tried to use their real world skills to determine what may be occurring.

After some digging the information that transpired between Balmung and Kite was recorded and another player who may have a new clue was found - Masaharu Ogata.

Those who are interested are welcome to join as the results of this investigation are discussed.
The First Respawn 2020 July 15th
The first PC death, appearing at the Church in Carmina Gadelica, the Town of Beginnings. There might be curiosity? Information to gather? What happens after death? So many questions and more.
Duty Session 13: Goblin Scouts in the Field 2020 July 17th
A porcelain quest has been offered to the Hunters Guild. There's reports of Goblin Scouts in the Eastal Free League region, close to the ruins of a place called 'Shibuya'. The region is largely open fields, with a lot of tall weeds. But there's old roads in the region that still carry some people who go to that region to gather some special herbs that can't be found anywhere else. The request requires the disposal of these goblins.
Floor 1: The First Push 2020 July 18th
Brave guilds, parties and soloers have been slowly poking at the first floor of Aincrad Tower. Progress has been slow due to uncertainty, low levels and a desire to avoid testing the Death theory. A wall has finally been hit where a larger push will be required to overcome it. As such, a strong, coordinated charge into the floor has been organized. Notices have been made. All Adventurers are invited.

Hellooooooo Adventurers! This is your host Misa Takayama. I'm going to be running a scene for the first major push into floor 1 of Aincrad Tower. THIS IS NOT THE FLOOR BOSS FIGHT. That will be coming later. But there will be fighting of mobs. EVERYONE IS INVITED. But I highly encourage to-be-eventually-formed Scale Emblem Alliance members to join in. It'll be a good hook for the formation of the guilds and subsequent alliance. After all, our whole alliance is basically focused on clearing the tower. But as I said, everyone is invited. I'm sure the majority of you have some reason to challenge the tower and the mobs inside.

It's unlikely to be card combat as I expect numbers to be too high for that... Though if the numbers do turn out to be small, I'm certainly happy to give a go at bossing in the card system. But I will try and come up with things to at least use dice rolls for.

With some of the people of Ezzo already getting off of Ezzo, thanks to the hurried preparations of various Adventurers, more money is being put towards getting even more off of the island. But with the constant movement of ships, people have started to draw attention from things that lurk Beneath the Waters...
Meeting Hour: Old King Gilgamesh 2020 July 20th
Seated upon the throne amidst the Land of Beginnings, the old King, Gilgamesh, is allowing a few limited Adventurers to enter his palace in order to strike up a meeting with him.

Combat Training 2020 July 24th
With so many inexperienced players now getting involved with the Scale Emblem Alliance they are organizing regular combat drills to help train their recruits. They have also opened this training up to players outside of the alliance as show of good faith and to help players adjust to their current situation.

OOC: Players will be paired off against each other for 1v1 card combat. There will be OOC tutorial information for any players that request it.

Lost Thoughts I: Resurrected 2020 August 1st
Twenty four hours. Twenty four hours have passed since the death of the Adventurer's husband in Alne. The counter has passed down, even with its disfigured and bugged looking display...

Until finally, they resurrect at the Temple in the City of Beginnings. His wife waiting for him.

The man looks confused as she hugs him, pressing at her shoulders, pushing her away.

"Who are you?"
Arts and Crafts 2020 August 3rd
The Alne Workshop 'Ikigai' created by the combined efforts of the crafter community is slated to open it's doors to the general public soon, providing a place where crafters of all skill levels can freely come and practice their art and share their expertise regarding the current system and low level recipes.

The workshop is still small in it's developing stages and not entirely free. Plant Hwyaden is asking that those wishing to share their expertise and research the ongoing anomalies in the higher level recipes consider allying with the workshop using a Discovery Contract, which prevents abuse from either side.

OOC Note: This is a social/research scene where information will be shared and research done on the crafting system. Right now the Workshop has a focus on Artisany, Forging, Cooking, Tailoring and Alchemy. Though all crafting concepts are welcome, those listed have better support.

A 'Discovery' Contract is simply that the restoration of higher level recipes or the creation of any new recipe inside 'Ikigai' is the property of the creator, but that a portion of money made from that recipe going forwards goes to bettering the Workshop and Plant Hwyaden as a whole.

Miyako is sitting in the Hostess with her guitar, amusing herself with some music and chatting with whoever happens to wander in. It's a nice day to sit around the pub.
Climb: The Floor 1 Boss 2020 August 9th
Various guilds have gotten together, led by the Scale Emblem Alliance, with plans to raid the first boss of the Tower. Formerly, it was always possible to open the doors and scout inside, and report on what is there. As such, the first team moves in, in order to get scouting under way.

But the plan goes awry.

Warning: As the boss system right now is a heavy weight on the system, and we are still balancing things out, we will be using Concept Roll based combat for this go around. Folk will be given 2 Evasion/Shield Failures during this battle, and a 3rd one if they wish to wager a Memory to stay in the battle.

The first Wave of Calamity has appeared upon the land of the Ninetails Dominion. None know what this is. None know what the Hourglass in Dun Loireag counts down to. But yet, it comes. It is Inevitibility.

A Job Prospect 2020 September 5th

Climb: The Floor 2 Boss 2020 September 6th
Adventurers are looking a lot more confident, having beaten the first floor boss. It'd been different, so they're prepared to send more people in this time. No doubt, this is going to be easier than the first time! So goes the theory.

The Scale Emblem Alliance once again leads the charge into another Boss Room, crossing the desert, expecting to battle Asterius the Taurus King; an enormous armored humanoid taurus.
Weeding Out Hamelin 2020 September 12th
A mistake a made.

She might have been on the run from Hamelin, Reika still kept tabs on them, and did regular reconnaissance to get the information on the next raids, where they would sacrifice countless new players to pad their own EXP and loot, without giving much back.

The mistake was getting caught during so. And she was placed in confinement, and then put to the grinder in the next raid.

Fortunately, she had time to drop the information to someone before this latest visit to the Hamelin HQ. Will there be adventurers up to the rescue, and for an open confrontation with the rogue guild?
Wave of Calamity: 2 2020 September 13th
The second Wave of Calamity has appeared upon the land of the Holy Empire Westelande. Well away from its main holdings, the army isn't mobilizing any significant force at this time - but they are paying Adventurers through the Hunters Guild to investigate what is going on - on the horizon.

Duty Session 97: Convoy Escort Quest I 2020 September 18th
Escort quests, the bane of any experienced gamer. Assisting people who are unable to defend themselves as they trudge slowly through dangerous environments on a preset path. When implemented well, they're a chore - when implemented poorly, they're a nightmare.

The merchant guilds and the People of the Land will pay handsomely to see this convoy deliver its goods - and its people - to the destination, and your group is needing to head that way anyway for your own reasons, so it's time to hitch up and hit the road. It can't be all that bad of a quest, right? Two days of travel will fly right on by.

240 Seconds 2020 September 28th
Rumours have spread amongst Adventurers about strange happenings in the leadup to the Spring Equinox holiday. As the sun sets over Aincrad Island each day, people have been catching glimpses of an armored figure. Hard to focus on or describe details, this figure seems strange, otherworldy, only able to be seen at a distance, unable to be approached, seemingly headed towards the same distant location on the island. Some believe it to be a special event and so plan to gather at the location on the holiday itself.

A boss fight for the Spring Equinox holiday. Though timebubbled to be taking place on the holiday due to my RL schedule making me only available to GM on certain days. All are welcome!

With the successful organization of a multi-ship fleet, it's going to take a long time to get everyone off of Ezzo Empire's island. It's not just a case of having to bring people off of the island, but also bringing enough food to make sure those that are there do not starve to death.

Wave of Calamity: 3 and 4 2020 November 3rd
The third Wave of Calamity hits, right as the Fourth Boss is defeated, leading to some unusual results in the midst of the Eastal Free League teritory.

The Eastal Free League has deployed significant forces - and the New World Alliance has launched a sizable strike force to deal with the situation, due to how close the Wave is to their new base of Shibuya.

Usual Boss Battle rules! Minor Memories are at risk for people who stay past their HP danger zone.

Duty Session 151: The Vanishing Forest 2020 December 5th
A strange location seems to open up only once a year during the Living Green Festival. No one seems certain if it is a result of the abundance of plant growth that creates the strange forest within the Eastal Free League, or if the location actually moves, shifting somewhere unreachable during the rest of the year.

The Hunters Guild has asked for brave adventurers who would be willing to explore and report back what they find within the Vanishing Forest. They are bidding Adventurers to try to gather anything unusual that they might find so it can be studied.

OOC: This dungeon is only available during The Living Green Festival. This dungeon is exploration-based and focuses on the 'Gather' and 'Discover' concepts with only minor 'Combat'.

The Howl Of War 2020 December 9th
The alliances have worked up a possible network to alarm larger groups of undead activity. One such activity comes up through the chimlinks. There is an attack happening on a small fishing village.

Only thing is, the ghouls and bones attack are NOT human, but rather that of Werefangs and wolfhounds.. and the group that reported the attack, well, they had to fall back.

It will be up to new party to charge in and save the day!
Clearing The Road 2020 December 17th
The Hunter's guild has placed out a notice of undead on the move! They seem to be on the road and are cutting off a supply line. The guild needs people to help clear the undead from the roar so the caravans can continue!

It is up to you, Adventurers, to clear out those undead and deal with the possible warrior skeleton in charge!
Breaking The Line 2020 December 20th
With the numbers seeming to be dwindling thanks to the Adventurers' efforts, it is time to break the far-reaching southern line.

The Merchant Blades, along with the Peko Army are setting up a march and assault on that line and are calling out to the adventurers to give aid.

Time to drive the undead back to wince they came and free up the southern corridor!

(( As a note, Undead Defense Force will be ending Sunday morning before or shortly after the scene. Something new will eventually be created to replace it. Hope to see you all there! ))
Festival: Light the Night 2021 January 9th
Near the end of the Summer Festival, many people gather on the shorelines for an evening of feasting, festivities, and fireworks. Bring your best bathing suit and enjoy time with friends.

Duty Session 184: Still Coast Pirates 2021 January 15th
After many raids by capable Adventurers, the Bandit camps along the shoreline around the Isle of Beginnings have all but been wiped out. However, the source of the Bandits still remains. A pirate ship has often been spotted along the waterways, taking advantage of the increased trade between the Kingdoms following the Apocalypse. The Hunter's Guild has put out a call to Adventurers to once again step in against these ruffians, seeking a way of eliminating the new Pirate threat.

The Fifth Wave of Calamity looms... as the clouds over Alne grow dark upon the defeat of the 5th Floor Boss! It seems to have come a lot earlier than usual... As lightning coarses along the walls of the Tower, and Alne itself appears to be the focused target of this next Wave of Calamity.
Duty Session 200: Clearing Castle Eas 2021 January 25th
With the discovery of the Castle Eas, Baroness Wake has called upon her fellow adventurers, seeking aid in clearing out the orcs that currently occupy it. The Castle lies in the mountains of the Fourland Dukedom, set upon a waterfall.

Festival: Gift of the Divine 2021 February 4th
A huge storm has formed along the coastline of the Eastal Free League. Unlike the usual weather this time of year, it has not moved on given the passage of time. Now, Adventurers are sought to bring a 'gift' into the storm, perhaps to appease whatever might be at the heart of it.
Family Lineage 2021 February 14th
Gabriella Drake sits on a stump just outside of the city. Her gaze looking at an arrow in her hand. Her thumb gently runs over the sharp tip. "Do you think," She asks the merchant in front of her. "One shot could kill a vampire?"

"I would imagine one good shot to the head could fail any beast, my lady." The Merchant replies. "Though are you sure you want to go after an undead alone? You don't look--"

Gabriella eyes dart up quickly at the Merchant, "I am the grand-daughter of a noble knight. Heir to a line of heroes and monster slayers. This war is taking a toll on these people. On this nation. I will not continue to sit idly by and do NOTHING." She stands up quickly to her feet. "I also did not ask for your opinion, good sir. Now give me your finest armor, bow, and arrows."

Her eyes narrow dangerously, "I have a monster to slay who dares to disgrace the Drake family line."

The merchant gathers the items, but raises a brow, "What did you say your name was, my dear lady?"

Yet the merchant never got the woman's name, all her could do was watch as she left. At first he didn't want to say anything, after all, it was not his business if a woman went on a suicide mission and yet--

    A job gets posted on the Hunter boards and to any job listing locations with a sketch that looks a bit like Gabriella's face on them:

To all parties interested, an unknown woman has gone off into the wilds of the Ninetails Dominion on a possible suicide mission to hunt down some vampire and help try to 'end' the war.

While payment may not be provided. This is a request of any brave souls, with kindness in their hearts to stop this mad woman before she gets herself killed; If she has not already. She was last seen heading west from the city, toward the forest, and the place where the mist always walks.

Wave of Calamity: 6 2021 March 5th
The Sixth Wave of Calamity looms... as the clouds over the Ninetails Dominion loom, a ways north-west from the Root City, over the farmlands. With only 48 hours on the timer.

Duty Session 235: The Mountain Memorial 2021 March 13th
During the time of the Firefly Festival, it is common for people to seek out old memorials in order to pay tribute to those who have passed. However, not all remembrance sights are easy to reach and some have been overrun by monsters over the years. A group of travelers have reached out to the Hunter's Guild, looking for aid from Adventurers in order to trek to a memorial stone seated high in the mountains. It will be a dangerous journey, but they seem willing to brave it in order to honor their ancestors.

OOC: This quest is only available during the Firefly Festival. This quest is largely 'Combat'-concept based.

Duty Session 239: Karluin Reclamation - Town 2021 March 18th
Even with the defeat of the fifth floor boss, Karluin is still a monster-infested ruin filled with precarious traps, ancient dangers and just plain old fashioned half-collapsed architecture. Though dilapidated, the goblin settlement in the area is deeply rooted and will need a good deal of effort from intrepid Adventurers to clear out... But it'll all be worth it. Once reclaimed, the fortress of Karluin will be a second or third home for Adventurers making their way up the tower. It's not like they have much choice; the way up is right smack dab in the middle of the old fort, and leaving it to rot will just make getting to the sixth floor that much more difficult.

The long task begins with exterminating monsters still lurking in the castle-town surrounding Karluin's mysterious central keep. Only then can the walls be secured and progress can begin on securing the fortress' heart.

A porcelain quest has been offered to the Hunters Guild. A small consortium of Lander ranchers would like adventurers to drive their Grunties to market. The party will have to cover a fair distance, involving camping outdoors, warding off predators, and negotiating the sale of the grunties at the end destination. The request requires the delivery of the majority of the herd to the market town and their successful sale.

Duty Session 257: Karluin Reclamation - Keep 2021 April 14th
With the goblin forces largely cleared out of the bulk of Karluin Castle Town, and without any means of penetrating the fortress' mysterious underground yet, the reclamation effort has now moved towards taking back the main keep at the city's easternmost side. But with the goblins backed into a corner, and their new leader surely commanding the keep's defenses personally, reclaiming the citadel will by no means be a small task. Still, the quest to clear Karluin at the Hunters Guild remains open, with a new list of terms promising salvage rights of the valuable loot hidden away within the castle's ancient coffers.

Festival: Convoy from Afar 2021 April 16th
As shipments of harvested foods have begun to move throughout Yamato, the Hunter's Guild has commissioned Adventurers to escort the supplies coming from one of the furthest away farms, deep into Ninetails Dominion Lands. However, there are rumors that a powerful beast has been stalking the area. A creature that may have been pushed out of its own territory in recent months.

Duty Session 263: Threat to the Harvest 2021 April 18th
During the Harvest Festival, there are many who take to the fields to bring in the summer crops. However, there are also those who would like to claim those bountiful harvests for themselves. The Hunter's Guild has hired Adventurers to protect those Landers who have been tasked with working the fields. It sounds like a boring, simple task, but they wouldn't spend the money hiring defenders if there weren't real dangers looming.

Since the beginning of the Festival, a darkness has fallen over the dungeon zone. Rewards are offered for those brave enough to risk themselves in the strange, maze of monsters in order to discover what may be at the heart of this unusual occurance.

Recently, there has been a shift in the behavior of the gnolls who dwell within the forests close to the newbie leveling areas. They had always been a threat, but it seems as if they have started to change their tactics as a result of Adventurer activity in the area. They no longer strike only at night, meaning that the forests are now a dangerous place, even during the daylight hours. With a number of both Lander and Adventurer deaths attributed to the gnolls, the Hunters Guild has put out a call to thin out their numbers, in the hopes it might return gnoll activity back to normal levels.

The Mage's Tower has put out a request through the Hunter's Guild. There is a rare monster migration, a rare subspecies of ambulatory water dwelling Triffids are traveling to their ancestral breeding grounds. These carnivorous plants have become very hard to gather given the Leviathans, their rare components are much in demand. Where they come ashore and where they're traveling to are both known, but the route they take wanders so there may be some trouble locating them in transit.

During the Hot Springs Festival, there are often times that new springs find themselves bubbling to the surface. Sometimes, old, abandoned locations can find themselves flowing with fresh, clean water once more. The Hunter's Guild has reached out to Adventurers about one such location, which seems to have attracted some unusual activity around it. They are looking for people to clear out any monster activity around the site.

Landers don't leave bodies to bury, but graveyards are still created as a place for them to mourn the departed. For some reason these places are randomly becoming infested with undead. The Hunter's Guild has an open quest available for clearing these infestations.

In each of the starting cities, there are at least a couple of poor merchant landers who have developed mysterious rat problems. This is clearly bad for business! A worried looking Lander stands outside their shop, rubbing their hands together, looking anxious, flagging down any passing Adventurer they can find to help.

Duty Session 343: Obligatory Rat Maze 2021 August 12th
It has been a year of Adventurers delving into the underground of various cities across Yamato, seeking to eliminate the rat infestation that has caused so many shopkeepers trouble. After all this time, something finally seems to have changed. The shopkeeper's dialogue has changed, explaining that while repairing their cellars, they found a passageway into a deeper part of the underground. Since then, rats have been finding their way up through the previously sealed passage.

Now, they are seeking brave Adventurers who are willing to, once again, explore the tunnels beneath the city, in order to seek out this new source of rats.

A winding trail follows into the hills of the Fourland Dukedom. The usual monsters seem to have pulled back, this time of year, replaced by an unusual spawn of Bun-Buns and Clucks. Adventurers have been sent to help collect eggs from this mysterious trail for the artisans of Yamato. But what else will they find along the trail?

All of the boats that would be stationed at Seeker's Landing are out at the moment, and a single Palace Lands Navy vessel has blockaded the location. Sending longboats for landings and assauling them from across the waters! It's a life or death situation. Strange dark creatures have been reported by various members of the Hunter's Guild. These creatures seem to be drawn to the power of the Elements. However, these are no friendly creatures. They have been seen actively trying to do harm to Divine Beasts or other natural sources of Elemental Energy. The Were Fang, Mikage Yurei, has discovered the location which seems to spawn these creatures into the world and brought that information to the Hunter's Guild. Now, the Guild seeks Adventurers willing to delve into unknown Gnomish ruins to reduce the threat of these 'Terraformers'.

The increase in Adventurer activity near Shibuya did not go unnoticed, the Palace Land occupation forces increasing their patrols in response. A confrontation was inevitable.

The discovered scouts fled into the Game Reserve seeking cover in familiar territory. One managed to slip away from the group and get out a distress call before the party was harried into Combat status to disable chim links. But he also warns one of the Palace Land officers, Daiyu, was seen with the pursuing patrol.

Get Golem, Get Gone 2023 February 25th
Sumeragi Youta has directed Kaydon towards a massive stone golem in the Sumeragi Dukedom that has been causing a world of problems. Kaydon has assembled a team of crack adventurers to take it down, and maybe in the process bring Kaydon some high tier stone to use on his building project.

Duty Session 577: The Mountain Memorial 2023 March 6th
During the time of the Firefly Festival, it is common for people to seek out old memorials in order to pay tribute to those who have passed. However, not all remembrance sights are easy to reach and some have been overrun by monsters over the years. A group of travelers have reached out to the Hunter's Guild, looking for aid from Adventurers in order to trek to a memorial stone seated high in the mountains. It will be a dangerous journey, but they seem willing to brave it in order to honor their ancestors.

OOC: This quest is only available during the Firefly Festival. This quest is largely 'Combat'-concept based.

The Adventurers aid Kumoko on infiltrating a Terraformer Factory run by Potimas Harrifenas - who is creating some kind of anti-magic field. With some quick thinking from Merek, and unfortunate sacrifices, they manage to detonate a Terraformer within the facility and appear to have eliminated the ruler of the Thor Kingdom along with the factory itself.

This is a Light (team) event in the Act of Rebellion line. Each session of Act of Rebellion, players choose one of the following 6 actions in order to resolve the War of Dragons plot. When attending, come with a vote on one of the following items:

1) Improve Camp Black
2) Improve Camp White
3) Improve Camp Wrath
4) Engage with Rosenheim Kingdom
5) Engage with Thor Kingdom
6) Engage with Kallamore Kingdom

Notes:
> Each action will create a chance to improve the state of the Palace Lands. Each will have a long term effect within the conflict.
> Each action will stop the next Light & Dark event in the Act of Rebellion line from chosing that option next.
> At the end of each month, there will be a retaliation event from the Palace Lands.
> Attendance to a Light team event excludes that character from showing up at the next Dark event and vice-versa.

Magus Depths 2023 August 8th
Adventurers head into the depths of an old Tower of Mages facility based on directives from the various Alliance leaderships, in order to scout it out. They are met at the entrance by one of the Heroes of Yamato, warning them of what they might find within.

The Adventurers return to the secretive Ninetails laboratory in order to get to the machines in one of the chambers. However, retrieving these machines may bring them more trouble than they bargained for.

The Hole Situation 2023 September 19th
The Alliances have located a Drive Machine, which is supposedly able to interact with the Cosmosphere, within an abandoned research complex. The plan to circumvent the Chimera infestation is to tunnel directly into the chamber containing the devices from the surface. Which will require those skilled in Mining, Construction and manipulating the Earth to accomplish, but any and all support is welcome.

OOC: This will be an ongoing deal similar to the date auction, with the log/scene open for several days so people can RP and contribute as their time allows. Even if you don't have the primary concepts (Mining, Construction, Earth) you can come roleplay and find supportive uses for the skills you do have! (ie Cooking to keep the workers fed, patrol the area for security, ect)
