Valentine's Day Festivities 2020 August 26th
n the past, certain limited time events would usually be announced using bulletin boards or other out-of-game announcements. However, with the approach of Valentine's Day, many of the Root Towns are beginning to put up colorful decorations. Landers dialogue now seems to include mentions of the upcoming holiday. In Japan, it is customary for girls to give gifts to the men in thier lives for this particular holiday, leading to much whispering and gossip amongst the Landers.

While each of the Root Towns are hosting some manner of simple festivities, a more elaborate festival is being hosted within the Ninetails Dominion. Part in thanks for the aid of Adventurers who supported them during the recent Wave of Calamity, and in part to draw more business to the region. Setup has already begun in Dun Loireag for what promises to be a night of revelry.

(OOC: Social event to celebrate IC Valentine's Day. Shop owners/crafters may have booths to sell their wares. Cooks may have food stalls. Adventurers may host booths with games of chance. Socialize, exchange gifts, eat, drink, dance and be merry.)
Sand Dune Peko Race 2020 September 29th
As part of the Spring Equinox festivities, the Holy Empire will be sponsoring a Peko Race across the sands. Many people are recruiting Adventurers willing to ride for them, knowing that a race in the desert can be quite dangerous. Will you face the heat of the dunes and possibly ride to glory?

(OOC: Players do not need to own a Peko to participate. One will be provided ICly. Card+Concept based rolls will be used.

Players may choose the 'special quality' of their Peko. This may be Physical, Magical, Animal Handling, Shield, or Evasion. The Peko will offer a bonus to to one of these rolls.)
Bun-Bun Race 2020 October 27th
From around Yamato, Adventurers and Landers have gathered together their best and brightest racing bun-buns. Adorable and cute, they will be sent through an obstacle course, with the winner gaining fame and renown.

OOC: If you attended the peko race, this will be very similar. You pick a special concept for your bun-bun to be 'good' at, choos two cards to aid your bun-bun, then roll to encourage and guide your bun-bun throughout the race!

Festival: Jungle of Whispers 2020 December 3rd
Living Green Festival: A patch of jungle near Shibuya has become overgrown by plantlife. Rumors tell that mysterious voices seem to be coming from within the dense undergrowth. A team of adventurers has been sent out to explore the jungle and find the source of the strange happenings.

(OOC: Exploration-based event. Card+Concept for rolls. Max party size: 10)
Festival: The Plant that Ate Dirty Smocks 2020 December 9th
Living Green Festival: Clothing has started to go missing in the villages of Eastal! One day, things are hanging on the line to dry, the next they are gone, leaving behind only strange markings. Clearly, something nefarious must be at play! Come, hunt down the wayward vegetable that is leaving the Landers in nothing but their skivvies.

(OOC: Combat-based event. Card+Concept for rolls. HP-Bar will be present. Max party size: 10-12)
Festival: Beachside Peko Race 2021 January 5th
With the beginning of summer, Peko races have once again become a popular event for both Lander and Adventurer. Held on the Isle of Beginnings, this race often draws quite a crowd. Sponsored by the Peko Army, with free boarding offered by the Quick-Feather Peko Ranch, it brings competators from all around Yamato.

(Standard Peko racing format. Choose a peko specialty from the list, race using card+concept rolls.)
Festival: Light the Night 2021 January 9th
Near the end of the Summer Festival, many people gather on the shorelines for an evening of feasting, festivities, and fireworks. Bring your best bathing suit and enjoy time with friends.

(Casual social event.)
Festival: Race the Storm 2021 February 3rd
A dangerous peko race which is held during the height of one of the summer storms. Pekos and their riders will be tested to the extremes of their endurance.

(OOC: Uses standard card+concept rolls and the existing Peko race rules. Concepts used will be: Air, Water, Animal Handling, Shield, and Searching)
Festival: Where Lightning Strikes 2021 February 9th
Since the beginning of the festival, lightning has become frequent in a known monster nest within the heart of the Eastal Free League. The Labyrinth Forest calls explorers brave enough to search for what is drawing lightning down from the storms.

(Exploration and combat-focused scene using standard card+concept rolls, will be similar to a +duty in function.)
Festival: Finding What Was Lost 2021 March 9th
In this time of remembrance, a family has reached out to the Hunter's Guild. Two young children who had lost their father, now ask for help in recovering some momento that they could place at his grave.

However, the man had perished somewhere deep within a set of ruins now infested with monsters. It will require the skills of brave adventurers to delve into it and hopefully find something worth bringing back.

(Exploration and combat scene using the Concept+card rolling system.)
Festival: Light of Memory 2021 March 12th
Along the shoreline in Yamato, one of the most common ceremonies held during the Firefly Festival is a Lantern Lighting. Paper lanterns are lit and placed out onto the still water, hoping to bring the thoughts and prayers of their family and friends to those lost souls.

It is a time for Landers and Adventurers alike, to remember those who were most important to them and light a flame in their memory.

Festival: Fall Peko Race 2021 April 13th
With falling leaves and cooling temperatures, it seems the perfect time for the racers of Yamato to get together for another race. However, by now, everyone is well aware that these races are hardly simple. New, life-threatening challenges await the riders and their mounts.

(OOC: This will use standard Peko-racing event process. You may choose a Peko with a special ability and two cards to help you. Rolls will be card+concept. Concepts for this race are: Handle Animal, Farming, Fire, Evasion, Cartography)
Festival: In Defense of Dinner 2021 April 17th
It was supposed to be a nice, outdoor banquet, with the Landers of the Fourland Dukedom celebrating along side their Adventurer counterparts. It was supposed to be a night of food, drink, and good cheer.

Unfortunately, the local group of bandits have other plans.

Festival: Candy Trail 2021 May 4th
The citizens of Carmina Gadelica have set up a series of houses which have been indicated as having special treats for the festival. Participants go from house to house in their best costume, showing off certain skills to the Landers. If they impress each host, they will be given treats! For many, it is a competition to see who can finish with the most goodies at the end of the trail.

(OOC: Card+Concept event, utilizing the following concepts: Tailoring, Dark, Negotiation, Song, Handle Monster)
Festival: Labyrinth of Shadows 2021 May 8th
The people of the Eastal Free League have reached out to the Hunters Guild with more strange happenings in the Labyrinth Forest. Since the beginning of the Festival, a darkness has fallen over the dungeon zone. Rewards are offered for those brave enough to risk themselves in the strange, maze of monsters in order to discover what may be at the heart of this unusual occurance.

(OOC: Exploration and Combat based event using card+concept. Successes and failures determine specific consequences for the characters in each challenge.)
Festival: Mountain Peko Race 2021 June 1st
The mountains are dangerous territory, especially during the Hot Springs Festival. Rocky turrain combined with an incrase of monster activity makes for a truly difficult track. It will challenge riders and mounts to their limits.

(OOC: Standard card+concept Peko Race format. All Adventurers are welcome and may choose to own or 'borrow' a Peko for the race. Concepts to be used: Handle Animal, Fire, Earth, Water, Shield/Evasion.)
Festival: Hot Springs Pool Party 2021 June 5th
The Adventurers have taken over one of the local Hot Springs, allowing full access to a huge expanse of large pools. The hot water wards off the cooler air of the mountain evenings, offering rest and rejuvination. Show off your best (or worst) bathing attire, splash about with your friends, appreciate the mountain views.

Festival: Winter Peko Race 2021 June 23rd
The last Peko race of the year. This one is held across a frozen and icy landscape, challenging mounts and riders against the elements.

Festival: The Wishing Tree 2021 June 27th
As the year begins coming to a close, many people are drawn back to the town of Alne. A massive tree has brought in, and Adventurers and Landers are invited to help to decorate it for the occassion. Many bring trinkets or special items of remembrance to hang on the tree. Bits of paper are also made available, for people to hang their wishes in the branches. (OOC: Open social, non-GMed scene.)
Festival: Bonded Heart Peko Race 2021 September 7th
Peko Racing is a celebration of the bond between rider and mount. The first race of the new year's racing tournament promises to test not only the mettle of those racing, but the bond between them and their mounts.

(OOC: Standard peko-race rules. Concepts/Challenges used: Handle Animal, Shield/Evasion, Sneaking/Dark, Fire/Tailoring, Herbology/Cooking.)
Festival: Sweet Tidings Fair 2021 September 10th
During the Bonded Heart Festival, there is often a fair which offers up delicious food, unusual sweets from around Yamato, and the chance to try your luck at a number of small games. It is a time to spend with friends, enjoying each other's company, exchanging gifts, or challenging each other in various tests of skill. (OOC: Non-GMed social scene with a number of small skill test booths for earning prizes.)
Festival: The Bun-Bun Trail 2021 October 28th
A winding trail follows into the hills of the Fourland Dukedom. The usual monsters seem to have pulled back, this time of year, replaced by an unusual spawn of Bun-Buns and Clucks. Adventurers have been sent to help collect eggs from this mysterious trail for the artisans of Yamato. But what else will they find along the trail?

It is summertime and there couldn't be a better time for a Peko Race! Oh wait, the threat of war? Pssh, who cares. This is more important! Nothing will stop our birds and their riders from the thrill of competition!

Festival: Lights Against the Night 2021 December 12th
The usual revalry that comes along with the Summer Beach Festival seems a little subdued this year. There are no fireworks planned, with most kingdom-aligned mages reserving their mana for more important matters. However, that doesn't stop some people from trying to celebrate. Join them for a twilight evening, watching the sun set over the water and enjoying swimming, food, and comraderie in the brief lull before the storm.

(OOC: Open social scene. Bring your swim clothes. Have some food. Talk and share your worries and plans. Only Light/Limited GM interaction.)
Festival: Racing a Hurricane 2022 January 11th
The danger of storm swells and the threat of war is not enough to dampen the spirit of those who are fans of this greatest of sports: Peko Racing! Yet, with enemies lurking around every corner, this may just be the most dangerous race of the year.

(OOC: Standard Peko race rules for riders. Scene is not open to Antagonists, but they may contact Reminisce on Discord to set up 'surprises' for the riders ahead of time.)
Festival: Eye of the Storm 2022 January 15th
As seems to occurr during some festivals, a strange dungeon has seemingly appeared in the eye of a storm off the coast of the Isle of Beginnings. The winds have blown enough surf and rubble away from the entrance for it to become accessible, but only for a short time. What may lie within?

(OOC: Duty-alike dungeon delving with Reminisce-style unusual status effects and unusual occurances.)
Festival: Spooktacular Peko Race 2022 May 3rd
It is the time of year of hauntings, dark tidings, and mysterious happenings. So, of course, this is the perfectly appropriate time for a distinctly seasonal Peko Race. Racers are /required/ to dress their Pekos in some sort of costume in order to race, so bring your best creativity.

(OOC Notes: Standard Peko Racing rules. If you are new to the Mush and wish to attend, you may choose to 'rent' a Peko or simply already have one. Make sure you give it a fun name.)

Festival: What Lurks in Shadows Deep 2022 May 9th
Ninetails Dominion has been a pretty spooky place in the aftermath of the various undead problems in the area. Rumors have begun to circulate about a chasm that has opened up in the center of a graveyard in one of the abandoned villages deep in the wilds. What terrors await those who are brave enough to delve into the darkness?

(OOC: Standard Reminisce-style duty-alike scene. Expect interesting challenges. Character-growth experiences. Plot seeds. And status debuffs. So many status debuffs.)
OOC: Staff-Alliance Announcement 2023 April 12th
This will be an OOC meeting for staff to discuss a future incoming change regarding Guilds and Alliances. This will be logged/posted to announcements when completed so that those not in the matching time-zone will be able to see the details of upcoming changes.

The main topics will be:
- Changes to Guild/Alliance structure.
- Clarification on Representatives (OOC/IC Expectations)

Please note: This will be a relatively short meeting focusing on these two topics. In the future, we will be scheduling specific OOC Alliance meetings/touch-bases regularly to better help the Alliances meet their IC and OOC goals.
