A group of players trying to gather more concrete information about their situation investigated around Alne, discussed with other players, and tried to use their real world skills to determine what may be occurring.
After some digging the information that transpired between Balmung and Kite was recorded and another player who may have a new clue was found - Masaharu Ogata.

The Landers in the Town of Beginnings seem to have a never ending string of trouble that comes their way. A few of the local Lander blacksmiths have complained that they are struggling to get the raw ore that they need. Apparently, the nearby mines have been overwhelmed with beasts and monsters, making it hard for the miners to continue their excavation efforts. It blips as an optional side-quest with a reward of improving the available resources in the Town of Beginnings.

A porcelain quest has been offered to the Hunters Guild. There's reports of Goblin Scouts in the Eastal Free League region, close to the ruins of a place called 'Shibuya'. The region is largely open fields, with a lot of tall weeds. But there's old roads in the region that still carry some people who go to that region to gather some special herbs that can't be found anywhere else. The request requires the disposal of these goblins.

Brave guilds, parties and soloers have been slowly poking at the first floor of Aincrad Tower. Progress has been slow due to uncertainty, low levels and a desire to avoid testing the Death theory. A wall has finally been hit where a larger push will be required to overcome it. As such, a strong, coordinated charge into the floor has been organized. Notices have been made. All Adventurers are invited.
Hellooooooo Adventurers! This is your host Misa Takayama. I'm going to be running a scene for the first major push into floor 1 of Aincrad Tower. THIS IS NOT THE FLOOR BOSS FIGHT. That will be coming later. But there will be fighting of mobs. EVERYONE IS INVITED. But I highly encourage to-be-eventually-formed Scale Emblem Alliance members to join in. It'll be a good hook for the formation of the guilds and subsequent alliance. After all, our whole alliance is basically focused on clearing the tower. But as I said, everyone is invited. I'm sure the majority of you have some reason to challenge the tower and the mobs inside.
It's unlikely to be card combat as I expect numbers to be too high for that... Though if the numbers do turn out to be small, I'm certainly happy to give a go at bossing in the card system. But I will try and come up with things to at least use dice rolls for.

Escort quests, the bane of any experienced gamer. Assisting people who are unable to defend themselves as they trudge slowly through dangerous environments on a preset path. When implemented well, they're a chore - when implemented poorly, they're a nightmare.
The merchant guilds and the People of the Land will pay handsomely to see this convoy deliver its goods - and its people - to the destination, and your group is needing to head that way anyway for your own reasons, so it's time to hitch up and hit the road. It can't be all that bad of a quest, right? Two days of travel will fly right on by.

Silent apparitions stalk the streets of Alne. Ghostly phenomena are whispered of but rarely verified. In the dead quiet of the city spread beneath Aincrad Tower, food appears on tables without a hand to serve them. Sounds echo strangely while light flickers in the heart of empty buildings.
There is a story to be told here.
Interested parties are invited to investigate the southern reaches of the City of Ash for a chance to glimpse the mystery running throughout, while Nureha and her hand-picked scouts have a secondary purpose to their searching, running along the rooftops and slipping through the alleyways as they search the vast abandoned reaches for a place to call home.
OOC Note: Hello, folks! This will most likely be a Spooky Investigation and Random Poking things scene. Everyone is invited as Plant Hwyaden cruises Totally Not Silent Hill for a place to bed down for the night (hopefully with softer beds than the inn. Those things are giving me a crick in the neck.)

The Alne Workshop 'Ikigai' created by the combined efforts of the crafter community is slated to open it's doors to the general public soon, providing a place where crafters of all skill levels can freely come and practice their art and share their expertise regarding the current system and low level recipes.
The workshop is still small in it's developing stages and not entirely free. Plant Hwyaden is asking that those wishing to share their expertise and research the ongoing anomalies in the higher level recipes consider allying with the workshop using a Discovery Contract, which prevents abuse from either side.
OOC Note: This is a social/research scene where information will be shared and research done on the crafting system. Right now the Workshop has a focus on Artisany, Forging, Cooking, Tailoring and Alchemy. Though all crafting concepts are welcome, those listed have better support.
A 'Discovery' Contract is simply that the restoration of higher level recipes or the creation of any new recipe inside 'Ikigai' is the property of the creator, but that a portion of money made from that recipe going forwards goes to bettering the Workshop and Plant Hwyaden as a whole.

Various guilds have gotten together, led by the Scale Emblem Alliance, with plans to raid the first boss of the Tower. Formerly, it was always possible to open the doors and scout inside, and report on what is there. As such, the first team moves in, in order to get scouting under way.
But the plan goes awry.
Warning: As the boss system right now is a heavy weight on the system, and we are still balancing things out, we will be using Concept Roll based combat for this go around. Folk will be given 2 Evasion/Shield Failures during this battle, and a 3rd one if they wish to wager a Memory to stay in the battle.

As the city is surrounded by water, it is also particularly prone to infestations of slimes. Landers are reporting that they are having trouble getting water into some areas of the city. They are asking for Adventurers who might be brave enough to face the sewers and waterways beneath the city to clear out some of the slimes in order to help get the water flowing again.

n the past, certain limited time events would usually be announced using bulletin boards or other out-of-game announcements. However, with the approach of Valentine's Day, many of the Root Towns are beginning to put up colorful decorations. Landers dialogue now seems to include mentions of the upcoming holiday. In Japan, it is customary for girls to give gifts to the men in thier lives for this particular holiday, leading to much whispering and gossip amongst the Landers.
While each of the Root Towns are hosting some manner of simple festivities, a more elaborate festival is being hosted within the Ninetails Dominion. Part in thanks for the aid of Adventurers who supported them during the recent Wave of Calamity, and in part to draw more business to the region. Setup has already begun in Dun Loireag for what promises to be a night of revelry.
(OOC: Social event to celebrate IC Valentine's Day. Shop owners/crafters may have booths to sell their wares. Cooks may have food stalls. Adventurers may host booths with games of chance. Socialize, exchange gifts, eat, drink, dance and be merry.)

A mistake a made.

She has an idea where to find one, she'll need brave adventurers to help her get these eggs, the Caerbannog isn't known to go down easy after all.

The Copperpath Mines located near the city of Alne is one of the few copper-bearing mines in the region, and thus both contested as a matter of course and, due to the terrible state of local infrastructure, filled with monsters and bandits and suchlike.
That's never stopped any Adventurer once in their life.
Come for the bosses that are actually just elaborate plunger pressing minigames, stay for the friends we made along the way. Aimed towards Olympus Alliance adjacent people, but all Friends of Plant Duck are welcome. May be capped if hell freezes over/mood explodes.

After the efforts of many Adventurers to finally clear out the creatures from within the mines on the Isle of Beginnings, the Landers are finally able to return to their work. However, the first miners have reported an unusual room within the first levels of the mine.
The room seems to be the source of the previous infestation, but now shows a strange glowing arcane circle that refuses to allow them to pass. The Landers have reached out to the Hunter's Guild, seeking capable Adventurers to find out what lies beyond this strange device.
What is certain, is that the spiders in the mines now known as Spinner's End, had to have come from somewhere. Danger lies on the unknown path ahead. Are you brave enough to face it?

With a number of both Lander and Adventurer deaths attributed to the gnolls, the Hunters Guild has put out a call to thin out their numbers, in the hopes it might return gnoll activity back to normal levels.

The Carnival is here and has been for about a week! The People Of the Land have been enjoying themselves. Kids get treats, there is a fun type of maze, and all types of fun little games to do. It is a wonderful distraction from the horrors that have plagued the Ninetails Dominion.
They even have a few magical shows and daring performers, along with a crazy jester who just /loves/ everyone. All are welcome, so long as they don't mind being out at nighttime.
However, there have been some strange things going on...
Some folks end up missing. Some say they are those who work there that look like those who have gone missing, but seem to be mistaken at closer inspection.
There is a mystery here and it might be a deadly one.

| Duty Session 208: Karluin Reclamation - Town

Even with the defeat of the fifth floor boss, Karluin is still a monster-infested ruin filled with precarious traps, ancient dangers and just plain old fashioned half-collapsed architecture. Though dilapidated, the goblin settlement in the area is deeply rooted and will need a good deal of effort from intrepid Adventurers to clear out... But it'll all be worth it. Once reclaimed, the fortress of Karluin will be a second or third home for Adventurers making their way up the tower. It's not like they have much choice; the way up is right smack dab in the middle of the old fort, and leaving it to rot will just make getting to the sixth floor that much more difficult.
The long task begins with exterminating monsters still lurking in the castle-town surrounding Karluin's mysterious central keep. Only then can the walls be secured and progress can begin on securing the fortress' heart.

A pirate ship has often been spotted along the waterways, taking advantage of the increased trade between the Kingdoms following the Apocalypse.
After a recent plunder of intoxicating beverages, the pirates are in high spirits. It is the perfect time for Adventurers to sneak onboard and investigate the source of the pirate threat. The Hunter's Guild is offering a reward for such intel.

As a known Monster Nest, the Hunters Guild is looking for brave souls who would be willing to help clear out some of the monsters in hopes that it will start to diminish some of the pirate activity that comes from the location.

After all this time, something finally seems to have changed. An Obsidian level quest has been posted at the Hunters Guild in the Ninetails Dominion. A rather eccentric Monster Handler Lander named Rionnag Taisbeanadh, the owner of a rather sizable mansion a few miles out from Dun Loireag, was attempting to create a haunted house. But the problem is that it has gotten a 'bit too haunted' for his liking, and he has requested Adventurers to please go through his house to minimize the amount of monsters in his house without making a mess of the place.

Last year, the Quick-Feather Peko Ranch organized a Monster Race to promote its services. This year the ranch has been evacuated. Somehow, the Monster Race seems to have been organized again.
Who did it? Is it still an official endeavour of the Quick-Feather Peko Ranch? Did someone else do it? Is this a mere event for the sake of entertainment, or is there a more sinister plot being hatched to the detriment of our Yamato Aventurers and their allies, the Uncrowned? Come and find out!
(Spoiler alert -- it's a mere event for the sake of entertainment)
The event will work pretty much like a Peko Race, with the IC difference that people will be riding monsters instead of pekos. Characters who do not have the Handle Monster concept themselves will ride alongside an NPC Monster Handler who will control the monster, while the PC Adventurers take care of the challenges. People who do not have a monster ride can borrow one for the duration of the race. Show off your monster ride if you have one, and make up your own temporary one if you don't!
The concepts to be rolled will be: Law, Etiquette, Evasion, Handle Monster, Magical.

No, we didnt invent telephones. The chimlinks do that just fine! This is a backdated scene to In-Game February 402, RL August timeframe, for the Bonded Hearts festival. Don't stress over the time warp timelines, just have fun. Style is a play-by-post social that will be up until the weekend, permits out of order posing, and pop-in pop-out participation.
The market streets of Shibuya are lined with merchants promoting the upcoming Bonded Hearts events. Ribbons of red, pink, and white decorate the buildings with matching flowers along the promenade. Outside of Atelier Nox there are specials promoting an upcoming grand opening to the accessory store. The biggest one being the turn it for this year's Event Card, where each store stamps your card for stopping by and a full card gets you half off Bonded Hearts branded jewelry.

It is said that some of them still contain Igneous Stones, specially crafted rocks used to stabilize and control flames. The secret of their manufacture has been lost to time, and scholars all over Yamato are willing to pay well for some samples to study in the hope to re-discover how they were made. As usual, the encountered challenges will require a variety of skills and ability to be overcome, but due to the special attunement of these structures with the element of Fire, the cooldown time for flame-related Artes is reduced dramatically, thus making this mission a favorite of people who specialize in this style of combat.

Unfortunately, without any local adventurers to cull their numbers, the shrine has been all but overrun by monstrous apes. Now running rampant, the mad monkeys need to be put down to restore some semblance of holiness to the shrine. Perhaps Longwang will award a blessing to those who fight to cleanse this sacred space? But even if he does not, the high-level monsters in the area are sure to drop some pretty substantial loot!

However, not all remembrance sights are easy to reach and some have been overrun by monsters over the years. A group of travelers have reached out to the Hunter's Guild, looking for aid from Adventurers in order to trek to a memorial stone seated high in the mountains. It will be a dangerous journey, but they seem willing to brave it in order to honor their ancestors.

There is news coming out of the Fourland Dukedom. The Baroness of Eas is deep in negotiations to expand her territory. Rumors hint at the Baroness Wake to have the title of Marchioness conferred upon her. Among those more closely tied to the talks going on behind the scenes, there are some jokes relating to the Adventurer getting fleeced by having to pay a duke's ransom for the promotion.
Seeking help from her fellow adventurers, Wake has put out a call for experts in commerce, cartography, and politics (as well as the generally creative!) to help her turn the tables on this seemingly lopsided deal. She's outmaneuvered two Dukes before, but this time she's going to need more than her own cleverness as all four of them have a say in matters.
This scene will not use an HP Bar, but +rolls are to be expected and will matter! Good ideas will shape the future of this nascent city-state.
Light lunch and refreshments will be provided. This scene is taking place in Eas.

This scene will focus on the potential dates being pitched; it will start at the listed time, and in the spirit of Festival-themed Socials, there will be opening poses, then it will be kept going for at least one day to allow all timezones to take part."

The Alliances have located a Drive Machine, which is supposedly able to interact with the Cosmosphere, within an abandoned research complex. The plan to circumvent the Chimera infestation is to tunnel directly into the chamber containing the devices from the surface. Which will require those skilled in Mining, Construction and manipulating the Earth to accomplish, but any and all support is welcome.
OOC: This will be an ongoing deal similar to the date auction, with the log/scene open for several days so people can RP and contribute as their time allows. Even if you don't have the primary concepts (Mining, Construction, Earth) you can come roleplay and find supportive uses for the skills you do have! (ie Cooking to keep the workers fed, patrol the area for security, ect)
