Medical professionals need hobbies too, so sayeth Prophylaxis. Formerly somewhat famous in certain circles for occupying entire pages of the in-game marketplace with affordable and effective curatives and other sundry potions (and camping said pages in his spare-time to buy out competitors), Prophylaxis was also known by his few in-game friends as something of a hardcore roleplayer. Now, his carefully tailored persona and outward appearance is working against him, as suddenly the man behind the mask finds himself forced to the forefront. As it turns out, the shady Cait Sith medicine man was in fact something of a doctor in real life, too! Serious about his work and deeply concerned about the well-being of the trapped playerbase, and especially the bodies they've left behind, Prophylaxis dedicates himself to finding a way out of the game... But, it seems that the good doctor is growing to care for the ills and injuries of the so-called NPCs as well. Should the time come, will he be able to leave them to their fate...?

Duty Session 86: Is It Wrong to Pick Up Slimes in a Dungeon? | 2020 August 23rd | There are plenty of places in Alne that seem to have been left abandoned up until recently. The influx of Adventurers and Landers have caused empty areas of the city to become occupied in quick order. As the city is surrounded by water, it is also particularly prone to infestations of slimes. Landers are reporting that they are having trouble getting water into some areas of the city. They are asking for Adventurers who might be brave enough to face the sewers and waterways beneath the city to clear out some of the slimes in order to help get the water flowing again.

Isekai Ryokan Grand Opening | 2020 August 24th | |
Valentine's Day Festivities | 2020 August 26th | n the past, certain limited time events would usually be announced using bulletin boards or other out-of-game announcements. However, with the approach of Valentine's Day, many of the Root Towns are beginning to put up colorful decorations. Landers dialogue now seems to include mentions of the upcoming holiday. In Japan, it is customary for girls to give gifts to the men in thier lives for this particular holiday, leading to much whispering and gossip amongst the Landers.
While each of the Root Towns are hosting some manner of simple festivities, a more elaborate festival is being hosted within the Ninetails Dominion. Part in thanks for the aid of Adventurers who supported them during the recent Wave of Calamity, and in part to draw more business to the region. Setup has already begun in Dun Loireag for what promises to be a night of revelry. (OOC: Social event to celebrate IC Valentine's Day. Shop owners/crafters may have booths to sell their wares. Cooks may have food stalls. Adventurers may host booths with games of chance. Socialize, exchange gifts, eat, drink, dance and be merry.) |

Duty Session 92: Goblin Scouts in the Field | 2020 September 8th | A porcelain quest has been offered to the Hunters Guild. There's reports of Goblin Scouts in the Eastal Free League region, close to the ruins of a place called 'Shibuya'. The region is largely open fields, with a lot of tall weeds. But there's old roads in the region that still carry some people who go to that region to gather some special herbs that can't be found anywhere else. The request requires the disposal of these goblins.

It's not just a case of having to bring people off of the island, but also bringing enough food to make sure those that are there do not starve to death.

240 Seconds | 2020 September 28th | Rumours have spread amongst Adventurers about strange happenings in the leadup to the Spring Equinox holiday. As the sun sets over Aincrad Island each day, people have been catching glimpses of an armored figure. Hard to focus on or describe details, this figure seems strange, otherworldy, only able to be seen at a distance, unable to be approached, seemingly headed towards the same distant location on the island. Some believe it to be a special event and so plan to gather at the location on the holiday itself.

Duty Session 103: Obligatory Rat Cellar | 2020 September 30th | In each of the starting cities, there are at least a couple of poor merchant landers who have developed mysterious rat problems. This is clearly bad for business! A worried looking Lander stands outside their shop, rubbing their hands together, looking anxious, flagging down any passing Adventurer they can find to help.

Freak Storm | 2020 October 1st | As part of the Spring Equinox festivities, the Ninetails Dominion has hired a series of Hunters through the Hunters Guild and has asked them to check out the 'freak snow storm' that has shown up near Shimonoseki out in the hills over one of their distant farms. They've given them a series of items to protect while going into the eye of the storm and to provide these gifts, undamaged, to the 'eye of the storm'.

Duty Session 108: Spinner's End | 2020 October 18th | The Landers in the Town of Beginnings seem to have a never ending string of trouble that comes their way. A few of the local Lander blacksmiths have complained that they are struggling to get the raw ore that they need. Apparently, the nearby mines have been overwhelmed with beasts and monsters, making it hard for the miners to continue their excavation efforts. It blips as an optional side-quest with a reward of improving the available resources in the Town of Beginnings.

Three Alliances Meet | 2020 November 30th | After meeting with the Undead Queen, Giganpor has chosen to share the information with the other Alliances besides just the New World Alliance. Among this is also the chance for all three Alliances to share information if they so wish besides just the Undead Army threat. Duty Session 150: Spinner's Deep | 2020 December 4th | After the efforts of many Adventurers to finally clear out the creatures from within the mines on the Isle of Beginnings, the Landers are finally able to return to their work. However, the first miners have reported an unusual room within the first levels of the mine.
The room seems to be the source of the previous infestation, but now shows a strange glowing arcane circle that refuses to allow them to pass. The Landers have reached out to the Hunter's Guild, seeking capable Adventurers to find out what lies beyond this strange device. What is certain, is that the spiders in the mines now known as Spinner's End, had to have come from somewhere. Danger lies on the unknown path ahead. Are you brave enough to face it? Zekken Birthday Bash | 2020 December 6th | It's Yuuki's 19th birthday! And they said she wouldn't make it past 15.

A region close to Fort Ouph, near where the Third and Fourth combined Wave was, Goblins have shown up - and they are not sure where they are actually coming from. Adventurers are being sent to investigate their origin, and to stop the Goblins from doing any further harm to the forest..

Duty Session 158: Convoy Escort Quest I | 2020 December 13th | Escort quests, the bane of any experienced gamer. Assisting people who are unable to defend themselves as they trudge slowly through dangerous environments on a preset path. When implemented well, they're a chore - when implemented poorly, they're a nightmare.
The merchant guilds and the People of the Land will pay handsomely to see this convoy deliver its goods - and its people - to the destination, and your group is needing to head that way anyway for your own reasons, so it's time to hitch up and hit the road. Festival: Trials of Honor | 2021 January 7th | In the lands of the Holy Empire Westelande, it is a summer tradition to test the skills of their young warriors as a right of passage. This year, Adventurers have been invited to join the trials.

Instruments Of Destruction | 2021 January 11th | After stumbling upon a broken instrument, deep in the forest, the Adventurers have turned to this strange technology in hopes that it may function as a deterrent against the monsters. A prototype of the instrument has been created and set up in the Ninetails Dominion, close to where the undead were last spotted, in the hopes of driving back the undead forces.
However, not everything is as it seems. The instrument is not the weapon that they had hoped for. No... it does not harm, or drive off monsters. It enrages more powerful monsters who are nearby, painting a very large target on the Adventurers who created it. (( Special rules will be in place. It will be explained at the start of the scene & in the HP Bar Object. )) |
Duty Session 181: Grunty Drive | 2021 January 11th | A porcelain quest has been offered to the Hunters Guild. A small consortium of Lander ranchers would like adventurers to drive their Grunties to market. The party will have to cover a fair distance, involving camping outdoors, warding off predators, and negotiating the sale of the grunties at the end destination. The request requires the delivery of the majority of the herd to the market town and their successful sale.

Duty Session 182: For Whom the Bell Gnolls | 2021 January 13th | Recently, there has been a shift in the behavior of the gnolls who dwell within the forests close to the newbie leveling areas. They had always been a threat, but it seems as if they have started to change their tactics as a result of Adventurer activity in the area. They no longer strike only at night, meaning that the forests are now a dangerous place, even during the daylight hours. With a number of both Lander and Adventurer deaths attributed to the gnolls, the Hunters Guild has put out a call to thin out their numbers, in the hopes it might return gnoll activity back to normal levels.

However, the source of the Bandits still remains. A pirate ship has often been spotted along the waterways, taking advantage of the increased trade between the Kingdoms following the Apocalypse. The Hunter's Guild has put out a call to Adventurers to once again step in against these ruffians, seeking a way of eliminating the new Pirate threat.

Nobody has figured out the source of the Goblins yet, but the Hunters Guild is sending teams down into its sewers to lower its monster numbers and get an idea where the movements are coming from.

Climb: The Floor 5 Boss | 2021 January 17th | A good amount of time has passed, but the Fifth Floor has so far gone undefeated. It appears the Floor Boss escaped to battle room and is wandering the massive ruined city of Karluin - occupied by massive roving groups of Goblins. Luckily, thanks to Prophylaxis' negotiation tactics, the Scale Emblem Alliance has a new ally in their search to continue their climb.

Any place to get away from the heavy rains and piercing wind. However, on one such Dark and Stormy Night, a Lander has come inside from the storm, bringing with them an unusual quest. They are tasked to brave the storm and face wind elementals in order to gather some strange alchemical ingredient.

Family Lineage | 2021 February 14th | Gabriella Drake sits on a stump just outside of the city. Her gaze looking at an arrow in her hand. Her thumb gently runs over the sharp tip. "Do you think," She asks the merchant in front of her. "One shot could kill a vampire?"
"I would imagine one good shot to the head could fail any beast, my lady." The Merchant replies. "Though are you sure you want to go after an undead alone? You don't look--" Gabriella eyes dart up quickly at the Merchant, "I am the grand-daughter of a noble knight. Heir to a line of heroes and monster slayers. This war is taking a toll on these people. On this nation. I will not continue to sit idly by and do NOTHING." She stands up quickly to her feet. "I also did not ask for your opinion, good sir. Now give me your finest armor, bow, and arrows." Her eyes narrow dangerously, "I have a monster to slay who dares to disgrace the Drake family line." The merchant gathers the items, but raises a brow, "What did you say your name was, my dear lady?" Yet the merchant never got the woman's name, all her could do was watch as she left. At first he didn't want to say anything, after all, it was not his business if a woman went on a suicide mission and yet-- ----------- A job gets posted on the Hunter boards and to any job listing locations with a sketch that looks a bit like Gabriella's face on them: To all parties interested, an unknown woman has gone off into the wilds of the Ninetails Dominion on a possible suicide mission to hunt down some vampire and help try to 'end' the war. While payment may not be provided. This is a request of any brave souls, with kindness in their hearts to stop this mad woman before she gets herself killed; If she has not already. She was last seen heading west from the city, toward the forest, and the place where the mist always walks. (( Boss Fight with an NPC assist. Duty Session 232: The Mountain Memorial | 2021 March 8th | During the time of the Firefly Festival, it is common for people to seek out old memorials in order to pay tribute to those who have passed. However, not all remembrance sights are easy to reach and some have been overrun by monsters over the years. A group of travelers have reached out to the Hunter's Guild, looking for aid from Adventurers in order to trek to a memorial stone seated high in the mountains. It will be a dangerous journey, but they seem willing to brave it in order to honor their ancestors.

Festival: Light of Memory | 2021 March 12th | Along the shoreline in Yamato, one of the most common ceremonies held during the Firefly Festival is a Lantern Lighting. Paper lanterns are lit and placed out onto the still water, hoping to bring the thoughts and prayers of their family and friends to those lost souls.

The population of fire lizards near the monster town of anthome has suddenly plummetted. A party of 3-4 Adventurers are requested to investigate the cause of this population drop and see any connections to the monster town. But with the goblins backed into a corner, and their new leader surely commanding the keep's defenses personally, reclaiming the citadel will by no means be a small task. Still, the quest to clear Karluin at the Hunters Guild remains open, with a new list of terms promising salvage rights of the valuable loot hidden away within the castle's ancient coffers.

Prophylaxis goes to inform them of the good news, but receives word that the undead that were previously enforcing the queen's rule have gone berserk and have begun attacking the villagers. It turns out that the townsfolk aren't the only ones that have been freed from the yoke of servitude! Now the Scale Emblem Alliance's raid party, still fatigued from their fight against the queen, are called upon for one more heroic mission before finally enjoying their well-deserved rest.

The Seventh Floor is home to all manner of terrible beasts, and while some had emerged to obstruct the initial construction of the railway through the mountains, up until now the Scale Emblem has been able to deal with all comers. Duty Session 388: Sher Kar Challenge | 2021 November 28th | The Holy Empire Westelande has a proud tradition, the Trial of Honor, where young people go into a nest, and those that come out have proven themselves to be stout-hearted and valorous. But recently, something has happened. It seems that somehow, giant ants have colonized Sher Kar - The Sher Kar nesting areas underground, and they are a threat to both Sher Kar - The Sher Kar and the Westelanders as well. So, a hunt has been organized through the Guild to cull these ants, so the ceremony can be held in its accustomed gravity. This is an obsidian-level quest for three or more offered through the Guild, Completion will make the site of Sher Kar - The Sher Kar ritual less dangerous to the Landers who have used it for their coming of age tradition for many years.

Hungry Like a Wolfgarm | 2021 December 19th | A wolfgarm infestation has been plaguing the fourth floor of the tower for the last few months and the hunter guild is finally able to end up an investigator to investigate the best path to start finalizing the formal quest. Due to the danger of this investigation the Hunter's guild has requested the one who initially put in the request for the hunter guild to accept this quest to provide protection for the investigator. So now Setsuna is quickly trying to gather a motley band of misfits together to escort the investigator through the Wolfgarm's territory on the fourth floor.

Duty Session 401: Isle of the Terraformers | 2021 December 25th | Strange dark creatures have been reported by various members of the Hunter's Guild. These creatures seem to be drawn to the power of the Elements. However, these are no friendly creatures. They have been seen actively trying to do harm to Divine Beasts or other natural sources of Elemental Energy. The Were Fang, Mikage Yurei, has discovered the location which seems to spawn these creatures into the world and brought that information to the Hunter's Guild. Now, the Guild seeks Adventurers willing to delve into unknown Gnomish ruins to reduce the threat of these 'Terraformers'.

Duty Session 449: For Whom the Bell Gnolls | 2022 April 5th | Recently, there has been a shift in the behavior of the gnolls who dwell within the forests close to the newbie leveling areas. They had always been a threat, but it seems as if they have started to change their tactics as a result of Adventurer activity in the area. They no longer strike only at night, meaning that the forests are now a dangerous place, even during the daylight hours. With a number of both Lander and Adventurer deaths attributed to the gnolls, the Hunters Guild has put out a call to thin out their numbers, in the hopes it might return gnoll activity back to normal levels.

Duty Session 475: Haunted House On Ninetail Hill | 2022 May 2nd | An Obsidian level quest has been posted at the Hunters Guild in the Ninetails Dominion. A rather eccentric Monster Handler Lander named Rionnag Taisbeanadh, the owner of a rather sizable mansion a few miles out from Dun Loireag, was attempting to create a haunted house. But the problem is that it has gotten a 'bit too haunted' for his liking, and he has requested Adventurers to please go through his house to minimize the amount of monsters in his house without making a mess of the place.

Duty Session 559: Fireball Solves Everything | 2023 January 31st | Scattered throughout the forests of Eastal, a number of structures which are believed to have been used for religious rituals in honor to The Burning Goddess lie abandoned. It is said that some of them still contain Igneous Stones, specially crafted rocks used to stabilize and control flames. The secret of their manufacture has been lost to time, and scholars all over Yamato are willing to pay well for some samples to study in the hope to re-discover how they were made. As usual, the encountered challenges will require a variety of skills and ability to be overcome, but due to the special attunement of these structures with the element of Fire, the cooldown time for flame-related Artes is reduced dramatically, thus making this mission a favorite of people who specialize in this style of combat.

The Hole Situation | 2023 September 19th | The Alliances have located a Drive Machine, which is supposedly able to interact with the Cosmosphere, within an abandoned research complex. The plan to circumvent the Chimera infestation is to tunnel directly into the chamber containing the devices from the surface. Which will require those skilled in Mining, Construction and manipulating the Earth to accomplish, but any and all support is welcome.
OOC: This will be an ongoing deal similar to the date auction, with the log/scene open for several days so people can RP and contribute as their time allows. Even if you don't have the primary concepts (Mining, Construction, Earth) you can come roleplay and find supportive uses for the skills you do have!
