Descendant of deceased mother Gremica, Arca is the dutiful Pooka member of the Council of Four. She has an incredibly elderly attitude to her, and for all of her youth is referred to as 'old lady'. When not seeing to her duties for the Council, she's lost in her library containing countless books. She's reported to even dealing in Curio and perhaps having even more old possessions than even the Mage Tower of The Ninetails Dominion.  +
The bold and outspoken Hero born to the Holy Empire Westelande region. Adlet has a strong will, never giving up even in the most dire situations, as well as a strong sense of camaraderie and friendship. He frequently calls himself "the strongest man in the world." He is one of the Heroes who tries to calm down others when they start in-fighting.  +
Agil is a very and friendly helpful sort of person, he enjoys helping new players. He's also very into the merchant side of any game he plays. He's even prone to spending his funds at times to help new players out. Though he tends to keep that on the down-low. In combat, he's a fairly skilled off tank with a preference for Axes when it comes to combat. He also will make use of magic but he has a bais towards melee combat. He's also known to have been a major player during the SAO Beta Test and running a cafe known as Dicey's Cafe an American style eater that had a rep as a meeting place for Elder Tale Players. It's also said his wife plays the game well. Rumours also persist at his intention to rebuild his business in this new world.  +
A glum reptilian Werefang that deeply worries that their life could abruptly end at any time. Their constant fretting makes them prone to religious check-ins on anyone they care about. It's an open secret that this behavior is caused by a life of fear of abandonment and rejection, galvanized by the virtual Sword of Damocles they see over their head, though they're reticent about providing greater detail on the events that caused this behavior. These fears also make them hesitant to invoke conflict with other Adventurers.  +
This quiet woman is a member of the famed Knights of the Blood amidst the Aincrad Liberation Front, and is known as one of the strongest fighters in the Guild. She has trouble expressing her feelings in words, so she shows them through her actions instead. She's strong willed, and can have a violent personality at times when people do things that would upset her.  +
Before the apocalypse, the character that went by the name Akatsuki was known as a lone wolf type, refusing to join any guilds and only grouping up for specific quests. He never spoke and quickly became regarded as a highly competent Assassin by the people that did group with him for those short stints. It wasn't until after the apocalypse that the truth came out; acquiring an Appearance Reset Potion to change into a form more matching her real world persona, Akatsuki was replaced by a much shorter female ninja. Though still quiet and taciturn, Akatsuki embraces her role as a ninja fully in this brand new world.  +
An Imp Acolyte, Akikoji is a supporting member of The Aincrad Liberation Front. While not a huge fighter he focuses his skills on keeping the damage dealers healed and healthy as well as making it easier for them to take down the enemy with debuffs. He casts his skills with the ribbons tied around his wrists, using magic to elongate them and carry his spells to others. Just because he's usually on the back lines, doesn't mean he's useless! Occassionally Aki will be found wandering around the starting areas, assisting players that have not leveled up much or struggle with regular upkeep. Always found walking with a spring in his step and a sway in his tail.  +
One of the heads of the Tower of Mages, Akumeiji the Arc Mage of the Tower of Mages is the one commonly seen out and about to interact with Landers and Adventurers both, and works closely with the Hunters Guild. This yellow haired and bespectacled woman is well natured and easy to speak to.  +
A feline Cait Sith known for her obsession with money. She's also the Lord of The Golden Fields, a dominion of The Ninetails Dominion.  +
She's short, with silver shoulder length hair. Her fingers are slightly calloused fromplaying instruments. Her attitude is generally driven for any goals she decides are worth obtaining, and positive she will make it happen. She tends towards the flute and the violin as her preferred instrumants. She's good at storytelling, if you can convince her to tell you one anyway though once you do it's unknown how true that story may be. She tends to smile and listen rather than speak unlessshe's performaing. There's usually a knife or a dagger hidden somewhere to jab at those who annoy her, though nobody has seen her actually stick any monsters with it or stab anyone, it has come out a few times seemingly from nowhere.  +
Allie is a bundle of energy that is always busy working, often seen helping landers with their farmland and eagerly hoping to one day have a farm of her own. Its not uncommon to find Allie covered in dirt from a days hard work and often carries a smile, regardless of the situation, on quiet days, she is also seen fishing or trying to peddle her share of crops. Some might also recognize her a recent Nero Idol before the apocalypse, and one that covered her escapades on Elder Tale Online, with a reputation for getting herself into all sorts of trouble and being the founder of a fundraising group to aid those effected by the Flash of death.  +
Very much a Veteren gamer as well as Veteren MMO player. Before Elder Tale, she never played a tank, always DPS, now? Well she is a tank, and a fairly good one at that, though, her first few times tanking were bad, luckily, she stuck to her guns and 'learned to tank good.' Finding that this place is WAY better than the life she had before, she could see herself living to a ripe old age here, with a lifetime of adventures. She takes her role as a tank very seriously, defending the weak, helping the people of the land, and making sure that those who wish to join her chosen role, know how to do so. She played Fragment when it came out, as well as other MMOs, but Eldertale got her hooked, and she joined a raiding guild as soon as she learned her tanking role. She also has a deep love for Ramen, snark and dark humor. Why is she a tank? BECAUSE YOU GET THE SWORD AND SHIELD BABYYYY!  +
A retiree who joined the Elder Tale Online to keep in contact with her daughter and granddaughter, one might think that Amalthea's fascination with the online world to be casual at best. How wrong they would be. Since the Apocalypse, Amalthea has taken it upon herself to hit the 'game' hard and try to find a way back to the real world where her family waits for her. She is as kind and motherly to younger players as she is unstoppably relentless in her drive to grow stronger and reach the unexplored cracks in the world in hopes that one of them will take her back to the life she had with her family.  +
Ameia Whiteheart is best known for her strange, innovative ways of using magic and items. Constantly pushing the boundaries of what's known about the world and mechanics of Elder Tale Online, she passes most her knowledge on to the Scale Emblem, empowering fellow members to clear the tower as fast as possible. She seems to not take part in clearing floors, or grinding, but rather spends her time researching or making deals.  +
A new Healer in the Town of Beginnings who claims to have been an important figure within the Axis Cult near Mac Anu - which doesn't appear to be recognized by any Landers. She however is a remarkably good healer for someone with her personality - which most people have been unable to overlook. She is violently opposed to the Undead in all their forms, and knows how to party with the best of Adventurers, making her somewhat more pleasant to interact with during social gatherings and celebrations rather than when she is trying to actually do Adventuring -- the latter tending to cause more problems than it solves (if any). Aqua appears to be attached at the hip most of the time to another odious Adventurer by the name of Kazuma. This has not endeared her to anyone, and their combined antics have racked up quite a lot in debt in a very short period of time.  +
A day-one player, many may know who Kowareta Arashi is, but few have ever found themselves in a group with the equine were fang. A prominent solo player whom is constantly wandering, looking, and searching the many zones of Elder Tale for an unknown reason. Many point to the broken blade across her back to prove a rumor. She seeks to reforge the exotic weapon she claimed before the Apocalypse. This is just a rumor, however, as the woman rarely is set LFG, and even more rarely talks about her current objectives or past achievements. She -is- a member of the New World Alliance, and has herself listed as a member of the Silver Sword guild, but it is believed she has these tags to cover expenses and get resources she could not obtain any other way.  +
This is a craftgnome. All craftgnomeship is of the highest quality. The craftgnome is adorned with plates of steel, and menaces with a hammer of mythril. Arianne is someone who has dabbled in every craft at some point, trying out the game, before eventually settling into what she has. A creater of goods in game and out, she turned her skills towards seeing just what she could make in the system. And, in the process, supplying the market with quality starter goods at reasonable prices... even as she was quite happy to scalp the salarymen, both in gold and yen, for fancy and rare things to show off at their next Dive meeting. Now that the game has become reality, she's turned all of that towards using the chance to perfect what crafts she can, with all of the rare and fantastic materials available to her, supplying the fruits of her labour to Climbers to see where and how they break for the next attempt.  +
"Isn't he that guy who doesn't talk much and then just walks off when you turn your head for a moment?" This is the typical reputation that Arioch had gained with most people in the game before the Apocalypse. Not being able to leave has changed his interactions with the other players. While still quiet, he seems willing to lend a helping hand where needed and be a bit less abrupt in his departures. His main goal now is to escape the world he has been locked into.  +
A mysterious Spriggan.  +
A newbie to VR gaming at the time of the Apocalypse, Asuna is now known as The Flash for her skills with a rapier and her quick thinking in the face of grave danger. She strives to the fullest with her peers in the Scale Emblem Alliance to get back to the real world.  +
A bright, cheerful sight, Atif is the kind of player character who tries to maintain a warm atmosphere for everyone around him. Having played ETO since shortly after it's release, he's taken on an active part in helping other players with ingame activities wherever needed, be it by using unarmed combat skills to fight through mobs, providing healing items or simply offering encouragement and moral support. In spite of his otherwise supportive and cheerful demeanour, he makes an abject point of not speaking of his life outside of ETO, apparently preferring to instead do what he can to make life within the virtual world as good as he can for the people around him.  +
"Att Syne" is a handle well-known amongst Elder Tale BBS groups for its association with high-quality and often complex user modifications for the offline game. Most notably, Att Syne managed to continue distributing mods during the internet "Dark Times," with various copies of his works ending up in the hands of fans worldwide, copied and recopied from whatever odd place they turned up. Online, Att Syne is talkative and friendly, often remarkable for the goofy side projects he gets into like stress-testing the world and trying (and sometimes succeeding) to break new encounter mechanics. In battle, he fights with the fervor and focus necessary to justify his continued presence amongst raiders and clearers -- an attitude that reinforces rumors that he was one of the SAO beta testers, and that the current world of Elder Tale Online is not yet to his liking...  +
Usually reserved, Ayame holds herself back socially and pushes forward in a fight; a shield user, barrier warrior, summoner who puts herself in front of her summons. She presents herself immaculately, she moves with the typical grace of a sylph, and she'd love to have more time. An idealist, she wants people to be happy.  +
A young Sylph accolyte, occasionally finding work as a messenger. She's known to avoid fighting with other people whenever possible unless cornered or coming to someone's aid, at which she'd wield magic. Like a nymph of sorts, she tends to spend her time in the wilderness.  +
B
BT +
BT is an old hand at the VRMMORPG world. She played Fragment back in the day, though she skipped Sword Art Online's beta, as her real life duties took precedence. At the early rumors of the Key of Twilight being involved in Elder Tale Online once more, she found herself returning to that world - only to get trapped. She now puts in every effort to get out, having a bad feeling that if they do not leave soon, the events of Fragment may be repeated once again.  +
Balmung of the Azure Sky has been the subject of message board discussions since he and his partner, Orca of the Azure Sea, destroyed the legendary unstoppable superboss known as the One Sin back in Fragment. His famous white angel wings and title stand as one of the legacies of that bygone time - as is the digital prison he seeks to free Orca from. The more taciturn of the Descendants of Fianna, Balmung keeps people at bay with a harsh chivalric exterior, unable and unwilling to trust people easily. That's in no small part thanks to the events of Debauchery Tea Party and its end, which left Balmung rudderless in his search for Orca's cure, and reinforced his isolationist, solo-focused attitude.  +
Bear is a long time player of VR games who was involved in several incidents in Fragment. He was involved in SAO's Beta test and when the Pluto's kiss happened? Bear thought that would be the end of online gaming. However when Elder Tale launched and once more he took up his identity as Bear. In reality, Bear is a fairly famous author who doesn't like to broadcast that much. In Elder Tale Bear is known for being part of the Debauchery Tea Party. He is generally calm, thoughtful well-spoken and is very clearly well-read from his love of working various works of literature. In combat he adept with melee combat with a focus on one-handed swords.  +
Present since the hectic flight from the Ezzo Empire on the day of the Apocalypse, Bell Cranel has been one of the many small names in the Crescent Moon guild. He's a relative unknown, but recently was found with the mysterious Traveler known as Hestia beneath the City of Alne.  +
Bercouli is the leader to the Rulid Dukedom, the dukedom most involved in the construction of new ships for the Fourland Dukedom. He's a prideful man with a surprising amount of battle experience for the son of a shipbuilder. It is said that Bercouli never loses his composure before any-one, or any-thing.  +
Bete has a rough personality, and prefers to be the 'top dog' in most situations. He hates weak people, and will loudly proclaim this. He is bad at reading the mood, is a bad drunk, and is known to run his mouth. Yet, regardless of his failings, he's a powerful fighter, has a heroic slant, and will protect anyone weaker than him.  +
BlackRose is one of those types who are a definition of how one should never judge a book by its cover. Her initial outward appearance and attitude makes her seem like a tough woman with a somewhat antagonistic attitude to those who she doesn't see eye-to-eye with at times. In reality, this is but a cover for who she truly is, and that is a person with a kind heart and a strong sense of loyalty to those who she considers to be friends and allies of hers, especially Kite who shares a similar goal with her. She seeks to awaken her brother, Kazu, who has been in a coma ever since he played Fragment. After that, her ultimate goal is to escape from this world which, in a case of irony, caused her to become trapped in the same way her brother is.  +
A fox-tailed girl whom rarely seems to draw her blade by her side unless in a pinch. It's rumored that it's more of a decorative piece more than anything considering not many party with Blossome, even if she isn't opposed to it and is welcoming to support those on her good-side. Leaning towards more utility, Blossome helps the frontlines but isn't afraid to join the fray in melee range as well. Originally joined Crescent Moon, later was recruited into Plant Hwyaden through Kyo Kirin after the apocalypse. Blossome seems to employ more of an adventerous aspect without looking for trouble. Usually she's found looking for player-run events or the cutest clothings rather than a hunting quest on the mission board.  +
An Undine Pirate, Brann Sjorover is a Journeyman member of the Grandeur Guild. A bit of a ladies man and a gambler, he likes to drink and party. Firmly believing in live for today because tomorrow isn't guaranteed. Charming and suave, smart and funny, but as lethal as any beast of the great deep. Always up for a fight but more so up for a big score of plunder, coin and jewels, weapons and items of unimaginable worth. Oh yes hes always ready to take what he wants and give nothing back, and kill or mame any and all who get in his way.  +
Loud and passionate, Bushi Kamuto is a man that embodies the very model of your traditional live action superhero. An individual who strongly believes in protecting those who can't help themselves, they use their Were Fang physiology to adopt the role of Brave Hero Janus, a massive Dire Blade Beetle themed warrior, to see their work done. However, outside the game, they're a drastically different person. Rather than loud and boisterous, they're cold and milquetoast, a far cry from their Elder Tale Online persona, having seemingly lifted and adopted their character wholesale from an unpublished manga that also bears the title "Brave Hero Janus".  +
C
Carbon is an adrenaline junkie, from a very young age he found himself drawn to activities that would give him the kind of rush that he wanted. He eventually found that same rush in the thrill of the hunt in VR games. Playing a stealthy sniper, the rush of unleashing a perfectly timed arrow and felling a massive foe, it was all he had dreamed of. He never really thought he'd be doing it full time though. Primarily he likes to work from the shadows, picking off targets at range with his bow, and he prides himself on his accuracy. Outside of combat, he can often be found tinkering on machinery, using skills from the real world to help with Olympus' various high end projects. He also hopes to someday build a full internal combustion engine to work on like he used to.  +
Chamo is a proud and selfish girl. She is uncooperative and gets easily bored or angered. Born to the Eastal Free League, she is often considered an unwanted hero. She also gets the urge to kill anything angering or bothering her. Because of Chamo's grotesque and tremendous power, she is extremely feared by her enemies and allies both. She is considered incredibly out of sorts for her species.  +
Chikako is not a 'werefang'. She is not a human, she is not an adventurer. She. Is. An. Oni. Or so she insists, whenever anyone asks, and has since the day she first logged in to ETO. Most people assume she's more than a little chuuni. (They're probably right.) Before the Apocalypse, she was a solo player who preferred getting into fights with the biggest and toughest monsters she could handle. She would only join parties or raid groups if there was a suitable Boss monster involved. Since then, she's fallen in with the Sleeping Knights, where she fits in terrifyingly well.  +
Rather amusingly named this, meaning 'Middle-aged merchant', the bear Cait Sith is a grumpy older man with a scruffy beard and the attitude befitting someone of his veteran status. He is the Lord of The Trademen dominion within The Ninetails Dominion.  +
The player calling himself 'Count V' is a well-known figure within the former territories of the Ezzo Empire. He carved out a name for himself creating guides for Elder Tale Online's de facto hard mode, ingratiating himself further with that niche of the community by forming spontaneous hard mode parties out of whoever he happened across at the time. A good listener and patient teacher, V is nevertheless evasive about himself and frequently deflects inquiries about his life and the meaning behind his handle with a combination of gentle teasing and outlandishly unbelievable lies. While not a threatening fighter individually, V is a talented support player that can make any party's life a lot easier.  +
An Undine Warmaster, Creed is nominally a member of the Aincrad Liberation Front. In truth though, the taciturn scout spends most of his time venturing solo through the upper levels of the tower. Dubbed Anti-Social by the majority of his piers, he none-the-less can be called upon to share knowledge gleaned from his travels, and seems earnestly dedicated toward the goal of one day escaping the game.  +
Crim is a very happy-go-lucky player he loves living on the edge. He's prone to finding the most powerful monsters he can find to test himself. He has a reputation as a self-proclaimed defender of justice. He is seldom prone to turning down calls for help doubly so if it's a pretty lady. He's got a reputation as a major player in Fragment and was known to have played SAO as well. However, it was a mysterious mail he received about getting answers to the incidents on Fragment if he logged on to Elder Tale. With the current state of affairs, he's seeking both his answers and a way out of this strange world.  +
A Pooka Adventurer with a kind spirit, Curtana Willowbright finds joy in aiding others with whatever they may need help with. If he has to decline to help someone due to time conflicts, he starts to feel terrible about not being able to aid others. He is more comfortable when his surroundings when he's not in the hustle and bustle of the major cities. Around those that feels comfortable enough to fully relax with, he always seems ready to just enjoy whatever comes his way.  +
Cynwrig has been across several BBSes in RP Communities inspired by offline games, even on RP Guilds on pre-Pluto's Kiss games, often by a multitude of names, each with a lengthy backstory, highly developed personality, and affected speech. A small time self published writer of strange alternative fantasy mangas of heroes struggling against morality, who merely dabbles in the true game, instead exploring the ideas of the game, and the less explored nooks and crannies. But dropped into this world, he now faces the true test, what his own story will be, and the stories of others as they develop. A man with a fascination for others and their stories, Cynwrig falls into a support role, putting himself forward, but more with shield than with blade  +
Cyrus has been in the MMORPG circles for a while, as a member of various raiding guilds, only to pop up once again in Elder Tale Online. Once a member of the Silver Sword, he's long since moved to a more background role in Grandeur, using his crafting skills to make in game money. Approachable, if a bit rough, this Snowleopard-type Cait Sith Adventurer seems 'tired' unless someone in particular engages him directly - or he finds something remarkable to laser-focus in on.  +

Daiyu has had a profilic career even before the Apocalypse. She has repeatedly proven herself a skilled strategist as well as combatant, using her abilities in enchantment and alchemy to pick foes apart with frightening precision, or bolster her allies against the odds. She operates like a master chess player, always planning dozens of steps ahead and backup gambits to pursue her goals. When necessary Daiyu can also be a sabotuer and spy, utilizing the mystical grace and stealth of her Were Fang subspecies to get into places she shouldn't be able. The downside to her method of operation is that Daiyu hates to act before she has a tangible and achievable goal in her sight, that won't expend more time and resources than necessary for efficient execution. She can plan for days and weeks on end, but won't take course until she's certain of an acceptable outcome. This often makes the otherwise wiley vixen appear langourous and indifferent. Until she leaps into action like an elemental dervish when she sees her oppritunity. Aside to her mystic abilities her weapons of choice are the tessen fighting fan, and a dueling sword concealed in the shaft of a parasol.  +
Dare is a carefree adventurer who is always up for taking on a challenge or trying something new, a deliberate departure from the nature of his real world player, who dove into the VR world to escape from the overwhelming stress of real life and forge a new identity. When the Apocalypse happened, Dare took it as an opportunity to really start over and make the kind of life for himself that he always wished for but never could accomplish in real life. On the surface, he comes off as a brash, generally good-natured, clever fellow, with a sharp wit that gets him in trouble as often as not. Only those who take the time to get to know him well will discover that this is largely to cover the insecurities he brought with him from the "old world."  +
Known as a lady knight of high moral caliber and impenetrable defenses, in the potent class of Crusader, Darkness is a wandering champion in the style of the knights errant of medieval times in Europe or the wandering Ronin of Japan. She would gain a lot more recognition if her real name, Lalatina Ford Dustiness was used, however, due to her being the daughter of a famous and very wealthy real-world CEO, Ignis Ford Dustiness, who has used his business influence to obtain great in-game wealth and prestige to match his off-line holdings.  +
While she's tentative about opening up to new people, Delphine is a bold and dedicated friend to those who win her trust. She was a relative newcomer to Elder Tale Online before the Apocalypse, but she's not afraid to act on her beliefs - that the strong should not run roughshod over the weak, and that no matter how strong you are, the world deserves to be protected as much as possible. She enjoys pitting her body and brain against strong and interesting monsters, and she loves to explore and try to learn whatever she can. Perhaps the day will come when she's able to return to the world that was left behind - but until then, she's going to make the most of what she can do in this one.  +
While Honami would like to think that she's a mysterious figure that appears without a trace or something like that, the reality of the fact is that... she's... fairly well known! Demonrose Honami is known as a silly chuunibyou roleplayer who has managed to keep the roleplay personality even past the apocalypse, wether out of habit or because it's her actual personality. In spite of claims like how she's going to destroy the world, Demonrose Honami is actually a very helpful and fairly friendly person who does her best to make sure everyone around her is smiling with her antics. Intensely embarrased by her own antics at the same time, she will occasionally flip out of character when it gets to be too much. Regardless, she is not just a helpless roleplayer, she's actually a fairly competent combatant in her own right.  +
Dex is a foreigner who moved to Japan in an attempt to escape the mundanity of his life. However, he soon found himself falling into the same trappings as he had back home, living alone and friendless in a land where his accent immediately outs him as a stranger even in online interactions. With nothing else to really tether himself to in reality, he turned to Elder Tale Online, delving deep into the world and finding more success there than he ever had in reality. So when the Apocalypse struck and he found himself 'trapped' in the world, he didn't despair. In fact, quite the opposite, he relished in it. In this world he could be somebody, have influence and form bonds that he felt denied in the outside world. Instead of looking for a way out, he wants to keep people here, to build himself into a legend and let no one deny that he was at least someone somewhere.  +
Borywick Rockborer is a Gnomish Archmage who found himself as both a member of the Divine Dragons and a resident of the Ninetails Dominion, and he is doing his best to meet the expectations that others put upon him. His meekness and passiveness are uncharacteristic of those typically in his guild, but when it comes to game completion, he is as passionate as his fellow guildmates. Most often, you will find him on the sidelines, trying not to stand out, but when necessary he will step up to make sure the job gets done.  +
One of the three 'office folk' who decided to play together. Dowafu is an old worker at a news company, and the game master to an old roleplaying game he and a few of his friends used to play. He really wanted to have a chance to play a character out, and joined Elder Tale Online to have a good time with the rest of his friends - only to get stuck. He's always looking for adventurer. He refuses to call himself 'Gnome' and when given the chance, will call races by their 'Dungeons and Dragons' race.  +
E
A self proclaimed Pirate Lord, attractive and charismatic, a ladies man and skilled with a cutlass. Eirik tends to wear black leather armor with a nordic looking sigil emblazoned upon it. A good brawler and a better sailor, has a love for the drink and has a taste for fine whiskey's and meads. The Undine man has a love for music and dance and watching the way people move when over taken by a diddy. Though he's no bard himself when he gets a bit buzzed or more he starts to sing old sea shanties. His first love is the sea and he will always return to her, no matter what he has going on, on dry land.  +
A female Sylph Magic Knight, a member of the Odysseia Knights. Lena elegantly and mesmerizing dances around the battlefield, cutting down enemies with 2 swords while evading their attacks and destroying them with magic. Although a member of the Scale, Lena kills monsters and enemies in and outside of the Tower equally, tends to do quests and enjoy living in this world with its people. She cooks delicious meals and desserts. Lena prefers solo, rather than belongs to a squad and be told what to do  +
Eliza Wyndham hails from the pastoral landscapes of the Ninetails Dominion, where for most of the first year after the Apocalypse she lived on a farm owned by a Lander named Brynjar Iversen. She became known among the local farmers for her talents with animal care, her fondness for animals in general (especially her beloved Peko companion, Sunny), as well as her lovely singing voice, with which she often sings to the creatures in her care. Now, she works as a veterinarian under the employ of the merchant lord Lelia Mofur, one of the two sisters who lead the Tamers of Life dominion. Though she has done her best to assimilate into Lander society (being a firm believer that the Landers are just as much people as the Adventurers) and commit fully to her new life and identity, she is indeed an Adventurer- a Shepard to be precise, who takes that title a bit further than most by wielding a shepherd's crook as her signature weapon. Fond of exploring the great outdoors, she often takes on quests as opportunities to sightsee. She prefers to stay out of direct combat, instead focusing her powers on protecting and supporting others. She is a member of the Moon Tree Guild.  +
Elk was a player of fragment when he was younger, there he met another player named Mia who he was inseparable with. Distraught after Fragment went down? Elk jumped on a rumour that Mia was playing Elder Tale Online. He also received a mysterious email telling him if he wanted answers to log on to Elder Tale on a certain day. Elk himself is a rather insecure person, he has issues trusting people and often is shocked when someone is nice to him. While it's hard to gain his trust, for those few who have? He will follow them into hell lending his skills as a mage to them.  +
Elrune joined Elder Tale Online only hours before the Apocolypse. Having to learn to navigate the game, and world, in a way she wasn't used to. She has chosen to focus on her roleplaying, her character and the world of Elder Tale. Determined to drink deep of the world's lore and its people. A Healer & Bard, but also a Priestess working towards bettering the world and the people who live in it.  +
Emiko joined the game just some week before the big upgrade. She chose a Cait Sith as her avatar. Barely out of the newbie quests and having taken a career as self proclaimed fox tamer, she learned to prefer the power of her tamed beasts over the chigiriki she is armed with. After being online on new years eve, she ends up stuck with the Apocalypse. She doesn't like to discuss the First Life.  +
One of the three 'office folk' who decided to play together. The youngest member of a news company, she used to play in the tabletop games with Dowafu and Rizadoman, and became fast friends with them. She's the least experienced of them all, but often feels that her younger insights are just as valuable. She's a bit of a bookish girl, but she refuses to let it show within the world of Elder Tale Online. She's often at odds with Dowafu, in a friendly competition kind of way, and often gets far too much into her roleplaying of her character. She's also quite the social butterfly when she's not out adventuring and knows the Taverns of Yamato very well.  +
Esclado is Spriggan priest that stands for justice, and care for the meek. Despite the prejudice shown the Spriggan race, he is outspoken and forthright. As an adventurer he is supportive, and loyal. He loves to experience new things, adventures, and foods and share them with friends. Like any Ninetailer he charges for his services as an exorcist, but only if he thinks the person can afford it. He often undercharges or performs gratis for the infirmed. He claims his origins to be in the Carnival of Dreams, and will rarely even admit there was a life prior to the Apocalypse. Instead of that he refers to it as the New Dawn.  +
This vixen is a very curious young woman. She wants to know EVERYTHING about the history of the world, especially beyond the Eastal Free League. Her other obsession is the stars, charting their path along the virtual(?) heavens, learning the stories and constellations unique to this world, and comparing them to those of the real world... even as she plays up their importance, the 'fates visible in the stars' and how they apply to the world. Still, she's outgoing; always willing to talk about the world and what people have learned about it, to jot them out a star chart or horoscope, or even just to try and point someone in the right direction to find what they're looking for. She just wants to explore, experience, and spend lazy nights gazing up at the stars.  +

The daughter to Potimas Harrifenas, her relationship has reportedly been a bit strained with him since the last year. Still, she's carried out his will dutifully, and seems dedicated to his cause.  +
Flame Lord to the Holy Empire Westelande. He's since dropped the title of Holy Emperor of his predescessors and taken on the mantle of Flame Lord, to show that he wishes to take the Empire into a different direction. He's a bold man who has no qualms with the further militerization of his nation, and the mobilization of a Great Army. He is known to be one of the strongest men in the entire Yamato region, and bears a heavy undeniable presence. Eugene is the victor of many of his nation's Coloseum Battles, risen from the ranks of lower gladiators. Yet, for all of this reputation he is said to be a fair king within the culture of his land, and is deeply religious in nature - heeding The Burning One's light and the council of its priests.  +
Fremy has the appearance of a frail girl with white skin and light white hair, an eye patch covering her right eye, leather clothes, and a black cloth with a blue and pink flower on her head. Fremy comes off as a girl whose cool indifference will not allow other people to get close to her. She also seems very strange to social norms and the like - commonly failing to grasp cultural references.  +
Known for a lot of things, Fukasa is one of those people who it's difficult to know for sure what all is true or not. Very little is known for sure, but the most notable things are that Fukasa was one of the top duelists in PVP events before the apocalypse, tended to help out newbies, and had worked to make a network of friends/contacts for when she needed things. Those who have been helped by her say that it's almost like following a wave that is sweeping away everything in its path. As for personality, there's a somewhat... concerning duality to her, out of combat she tends to be rather calm yet cheerful, but in combat... she gets... a little more into it than might be considered tasteful by some.  +
A gamer nerd and college student who fell in love with online games, Fuka is boisterous and playful and flirty. She's also a sort of "class clown", liable to say clearly-outrageous things before her brain catches up to her mouth. When not fixating on her social skills, she's a solid and strategic player willing to put in surprising amounts of time and effort into work, study or training.  +

Gabi is a fierce believer in freedom; he believes that the world of Elder Tale Online is capable of supporting all sorts of play styles, and that all players should be free to play in the way they like best, even if that way involves PKing or hurting others. Though his short and evasive answers may give the appearance that he's stupid, he is much more intelligent then he acts. To those of Plant Hwayden, promises made to Gabi are absolute. He also refuses to read messages more than 'three lines long' and often replies as such.  +
Galen is a wandering warrior who dedicates his time to helping those who need help, and to bettering his own skills and learning about the world around him. He is a master of many weapons and forms of combat, practicing each day to maintain his discipline, but, although he can come off as gruff, never defaults to violence as solution to problems. His magical skills, which are growing steadily, focus on divining the nature of the reality of this new world and exploiting "loopholes." He has been putting serious thought into whether "NPC's" are sentient, since they seem to sometimes show agency that should be impossible for simple artificial intelligence, at least as far as he understands it.  +
Were Fang] Gallant Goldmane is the embodyment of the theatrical twin blade: flamboyant, with a thirst for adventure and challenge, and seemingly endlessly optimistic, he is seldom one to shy away from a fight for the right cause. A frequent itinerant adventurer throughout the realm, he is often seen in his transformed feline were fang aspect, providing aid and support where needed in exchange for very little outside of occasional food and shelter. His distinctive double-wielding combat sytle perfectly appeals to both his agility and his theatrical personality, and it also complemented by the surprising elemental summons. Although he appears happy-go-lucky and the very semblance of the dashing adventurer, there is a deeper side of him: a soft-spoken, wistful romantic with a gentle but ever-present melancholy, a side of him that only comes through when he lets his guard down- and that happens very seldom, and only with people he has come to trust. More often than not, he will try to hide behind the telling of a grand story, which he seems to conjure almost as well as any Bard of the realm. Gallant's player seldom ever talks about his past in the real world, and seems to have become completely comitted to living his Elder Tree life to the fullest, as the only life that matters.  +
Gao Lim is a Palace Lander who has a love for drinking, gambling, and making more drinks from who knows what. Most often found behind a tavern or other establishment's bar showing off his skills at a rather acrobatic bartending style, he often earns his night's stay this way and by breaking up bar fights with handy barrier magics or just flat out tossing someone out. He doubles as a handy bouncer, too. On the surface, at least, he is a happy individual who seems to have escaped a lot of what the ETO world has tossed at him. He wanders the lands trying to figure out life, dressed as some sort of travelling pilgrim-like individual who is oddly enough not even armed or armored. Back in the Palace Lands, however, he earned a reputation before the Apocalypse as a Raid Healer not afraid to get in close and take out an add before healing someone. Usually with a slap upside the head for letting their health get that low. In a fight, he tends to toss off his robe and go into a Were-Fang form based on a beetle monster of some sort. As an Asura he has no problems in keeping himself alive, debuffing an enemy, and ramming a fist or foot into one hard enough other people say 'ow' in appreciation of the hit.  +
Gardenia has a reputation for being cold as she is graceful. She does not seem to smile often if ever. She's also known for generally being very quiet and even when she does speak she doesn't make an effort to make sure shart she said was clearly understood. She also has a Fanclub which she often takes great lengths to avoid when possible. She has also admitted to using a Nagtinata outside the game. It shows how fearsome she is in combat with said weapon. She like Kite received an email claiming that if she logged on to Elder Tale on a certain date? She would get the answers about the strange happenings in Fragment.  +
Garryck is a Were Fang Bull -- if you think minotaur, you won't be far off the mark. And yet, despite being a two meter tall wall of black-furred muscle, he carries himself with a strange sort of gentleness. Maybe it's the glasses perched on the end of his muzzle, or the tip of a harp protruding from the pack slung across his back. Garryck (Garry, or even Garr to his closest friends) has rather gone out of his way to not be noticed overmuch since settling full-time into the realm of Elder Tale. If he's known for anything, it's for livening up the stray evening at an inn with his rich baritone and his harp -- other than that, he has so far been happy to simply fade into the background. At least as far as two meters of jet-black bull *can* fade into the background....  +
Giganpor is a Were Fang Dreadnaught, known for these days for being a tank and also as someone who is doing things probably the wrong way. His fighting is primarily in his human form, saving his Tusked Snow Lion form for when he needs it usually. He wields as his primary weapon a fully metal hammer-axe spear that he swings with frightening ease. As a Dreadnaught it gets more frightening as his custom buckler serves as a focus for him to summon spells or enchantments. Before the Apocalypse, he had the moniker of the "Golden Fang Knight" for riding a summon into boss battles with abandon. Recently some have started to assume he may be trying to retrieve the title again, as he has a bound Nightmare that is said to emerge from his shadow. Usually helpful, his view and actions have become hardened by the Waves of Calamity that have been striking Yamato. One of the few vocal ones that has more of a care for this world than the one Adventurers originated from, he recently tarnished his name by unleashing player forged weapons in Goblin hands within the Tower itself. This has caused strife with most out there and turned him into an untrusted villain in some eyes. A select few see him as having done what he had to do. Those in the New World and others that have visited him have said that he lacks the remorse on his part, enough that it is worrying on what he may do next.  +
The old king of the Town of Beginnings. Very little is known about Gilgamesh to most Adventurers. But the people of the land know of him as the first to climb the 'Crystal Tower'. An imposing and powerful human figure who is known for his immense kindness and his welcoming attitude. He is the one who takes in the strays who left the various kingdoms, and organized the Outcasts in the Town of Beginnings and works closely together with those in power of Alne.  +
The Goblin Slayer is a Silver Ranked Lander from the Eastal Free League. It appears he refuses to take any quests that are not about killing Goblins - despite of what his rank might suggest.  +
Goldenblade was a bundle of energy wrapped up in a veil of cluelessness. She's not entierly up to speed, but she's much better than she used to be when the game started. There are still too many details to wrap her head around them all. If she'd been born here, she'd have grown up with them, but now, it's so hard to sort background noise from urgent things. She'd managed to set her race as human, by luck as much as anything else, and the two-swords fighting style looked pretty cool, so she selected that. She knows a tiny bit of kendo, but mostly from watching tournaments on TV when nothing better was on, back in the day when there were only a few channels. And her son took martial arts lessons, so she got to watch some of those and she's at least seen what it looks like. Now, she runs the Crescent Academy, intended as a place where players and Landers would both come to train, but instead sees a trickle of players who want to learn some of the skills she's developed. She's probably best known as the Eas Builder, having been a major part of the reconstruction and new work surrounding the site, including the modern roadway leading there from Takamatsu. She is also an exceptional weapon and armor smith, though those are not unique qualifications and tend not to get as much attention. Current cards that can be trained are listed on +bbread 9/19.  +
Goldof is tall, with black hair and is always seen with a stern look on his face. He is the Human Hero born to the Fourland Dukedom. He wears heavy and extremely resistant black armor with dark green accents and wields a giant spear in battle. His helmet has two curved horns mimicking a sheep's horns, and his spear is linked to his gauntlet by a heavy chain used like a lanyard. He's known to have a bit of an attitude problem.  +
Gwen is a long time MMORPG player and was an avid player of Elder Tale offline during the dark times. She is fairly serious when she's in a fight but otherwise is a very big goofball out of combat. With a love of music and 'Cosplay'. Her accent leads people to think she's not from Japan. Also, an avid reader who likes to devour mythology books. In combat, she's generally filled the role of a tank trying to keep her comrades from harm. She's also known to party with two of her out of game family members.  +

Ji is a Pooka Lord, she tends to stay out of combat sending her summons in to tank while she occasionally tosses in spells. Most of her time spent trying to level or get items to give her advantages when in PvP.  +
Hans is a man with long disheveled hair that covers his eyes, born as the Hero of the Were Fangs to the Ninetails Dominion. His clothes are simple and patched-up. His appearance is also reminiscent to that of a cat. He also has a tail, unusual for Werefangs. His speech pattern is inspired by cats, as he based his fighting style on the way cat moves. He is quite strong, despite how skinny he looks under his clothes.  +
Hanzo was just a person in the real world who enjoyed video games...and held down in the real world by a life-threatening illness. What he has failed to find in the real world, he has found here in Elder Tale Online. Serious and stubborn, but with a strong moral compass and compassionate heart, Hanzo is a walking force of nature. He always strives to make the most of any situation he finds himself in. It does not matter if it's a fight, an investigation, or an extremely difficult quest, Hanzo throws 100 percent of himself into everything that he does. All he has in this world is a desire to be the best and that same desire makes itself known here: That he can do everything in this world that doctors told him he could never do. So with a sword, he dares to defy his dark fate.  +
An aloof Enchanter with a monocle that Commands the Crafting division of the Silver Sword. He works hard to organize the efforts of the New World Alliance into activities that are accessible to all the members. The silver haired human is a surprisingly capable duelist that focuses on augmented elemental summons and status effects. A lack of physical prowess have given his arms the title of 'Noodle Arms' despite being quite attractive. His focus on Wave Artes and Accessory Forging have placed him as one of the first and few that were able to break the Crown of Control during the War of the Dragons. Eccentric and punny, the young man appears haunted and burdened by the sins of his past that he strives to overcome through merit and deed within Elder Tales. He enjoys sweets, computer science, art, and travel.  +
A previous member of the Twilight Brigade, Haseo is perhaps more prominently known as The Terror of Death, an infamous PKKer who supposedly fought and defeated one hundred players at once. Rumored to have some sort of connection to the Key of Twilight, they spend most of their time tracking down an old internet rumor known as Tri-Edge, a mysterious player killer with equally mysterious abilities, all in the hopes of confronting and defeating them. Crass, rude, and genuinely unpleasant to be around for prolonged periods, Haseo is a person who seems to actively push others away, more fixated on acquiring levels and power more than anything else. Even still, there are occasional cracks in the way he acts, revealing a person who deep down actually cares, no matter how much he's convinced himself otherwise.  +
The well mannered fore-front leader of the Aincrad Liberation Front, and the one who leads the elite army at its center, the Knights of the Blood. He holds great sway amidst the rest of the climbing guilds due to his knowledge of the game. A defense type player who's HP is rumored to have never fallen below half.  +
Ruler of a forgotten kingdom, Helena Lethe is a dangerous, cruel, wicked, and vengeful vampire. While a sliver of her humanity may grant a touch of mercy, it is a fleeting moment that should never be trusted. Helena commands an army of undead and spirits as her loyal soldiers. Carrying out her wicked plans to snuff out lives as she attempts to expand her presence, reclaim her kingdom, and perhaps dig out the very man who set this dark wheel in motion.  +
Hifumi is a chef outside of game. He brings those skills with him and just wants to run an inn, serve Adventurers and Landers alike. He wants to make the most amazing dishes using all the fantasy ingredients and see peoples reaction to them. He wants to try out all of the brewing and other skills to get the food and to fill his inn with happy faces.  +
Himari is a small-time Idol that decided to take her performances into the Nero Idol realm, where she had an unexpected surge in popularity. She found herself caught during the Apocalypse, she's now taken it upon herself to look after the memorials of dead Landers, as well as memorial sites set up by other Adventurers for family that they can no longer see.  +
An older player who decided it would be fun to try and play the merchant game. Though still largely distrusted by the Ninetails Dominion due to his status as an Adventurer, he none-the-less has made an impact on the Ninetails Dominion's economy due to his shrewd business practices. He proudly proclaims himself to be a Salaryman.  +
An Imp Harbinger tank. She's noted for somewhat mismatched armor, adhoc ways of carrying her alchemy supplies, which she actively tries to use while tanking and a habit of using DoTs to maintain her aggro. She has joked more than once about being a happy, bright imp that relies on a horror show method of tanking. She thinks it's funny. She was prone to posting fan art on the BBS fairly frequently, usually obfuscated from her usual style. At the time, there are rumors that she's some kind of professional.  +
An MMO veteran trying something new, Hyuga has been around the block before, but not as a physical fighter! He leverages a lust for knowledge and learning with the complete inability to let his fellows come to harm, mostly at the extent of his own health. Combining the polite poise of a perceived noble with the down and dirty nature of a commoner, he is always in the mood to make new friends and try new things... especially food! Some might notice, however, that he sometimes has trouble with basic socialization, though his nervousness will not stop him from trying! On the field, however, he almost slips into a different mindset, and can lead or follow orders with the best of them... at least, he tries to!  +

The old feline looking Cait Sith that seems to play an important role within Kallamore Kingdom. He runs many of the supplies and peace keeping within Lumina Cloth, and deals a lot with both the Adventurers and the various wealthy members of Kallamore Kingdom.  +
He's a complete noob, or rather, he goes beyond that, it's like he's never played a game before at all! Probably because he hasn't. He seems to think healing sounds nice and is more than willing to learn if people are patient with him, but also seems to intentionally not want to get in people's way.  +
J
A reckless thrill seeker, Jaundry is known to be a devoted bare handed brawler who loves to seek out challenges, whether they be player or npc. He is extremely aggressive in his combat style, often ending up in quite a bit of hot water because of that. Though a noted member of the Silver Sword, he is one of the members that has no issue helping with raids in Aincrad tower, though it is again simply thanks to seeking thrills-not because he has any intention of leaving.  +
The Uncrowned Jayu, who's name fittingly means "Liberation" in Korean, is a very serious Spriggan. Whatever he sets his mind to, he sticks with it until he is done. He has a strong, loving dedication toward his Queen, who he would do anything for: even die. He is passionate about assisting, teaching, and protecting those in need; he himself had been in a hopeless, rock-bottom situation, and it was the help of his friends that made him into who he is today.  +
Jazuhanzu is a complete newbie to Elder Tales Online. Seems they were drawn into the game the very same day that the catastrophe struck. While they are perhaps not used to how immersive virtual gaming, they don't seem a stranger to the mechanics of MMOs or RPGs in particular generally. Their Japanese is decent, but imperfect, and their American accent bleeds through when in communication with other players, when they bother to speak at all. Long periods of quiet seem to be a groove they naturally fall into, along with wandering to explore nooks and crannies even when it's ill-advised. Especially when it's ill-advised. They are, at least, the kind of player who seems to jump in to help others at the drop of a hat when it seems they're in need.  +
The Lord of the Tower of Mages, one of the dominions of The Ninetails Dominion. And old Pooka, he's a rather rare existance within the Human and Cait Sith dominated Kingdom. He's a man with a strange sense of humor, who is rarely seen in public.  +
Jimmu can occasionally come off as curt, or even sinister, on first meeting, but those who have interacted with him realize that the Magic Knight simply doesn't talk very much. He's a roving explorer who often tries to help out people who seem to be in trouble, or provides combat backup for a support character who wants to explore the Tower or other monster infested areas.  +
The young, and incredibly powerful Hero of the Rosenheim Kingdom. Loyal to the Rosenheim Kingdom, Julius Zagan Analeit is often seen together with the Queen of the Kingdom. He's got a youthful and incredibly chivalrous demeanor, and his skill with the sword is reportedly unparalleled within the Palace Lands. Yet for all of his chivalry, he's considered a monster amongst Landers because of the immense strength he possesses.  +
Jun Miruno is a Bun-Bun Cait Sith, known for her sweet personality and her sales of her sweet sugared candy in the form of felins. She is the leader of the Carnival of Dreams, one of the dominions within The Ninetails Dominion.  +
June is a wildcard in the true sense. She is know for chaotic choices, a propensity to violence, and for being a flirt, if flirt is the right word. The WereFang enjoys PVP, Dungeon Crawling, and anything that seems dangerous. While at the same time being known to spend inordintate time working on writing and caligraphy. The Shadow Fist is as happy indulging herself, as she is pounding on anything strong enough to pose a challenge.  +
