Descendant of deceased mother Gremica, Arca is the dutiful Pooka member of the Council of Four. She has an incredibly elderly attitude to her, and for all of her youth is referred to as 'old lady'. When not seeing to her duties for the Council, she's lost in her library containing countless books. She's reported to even dealing in Curio and perhaps having even more old possessions than even the Mage Tower of The Ninetails Dominion.  +
The bold and outspoken Hero born to the Holy Empire Westelande region. Adlet has a strong will, never giving up even in the most dire situations, as well as a strong sense of camaraderie and friendship. He frequently calls himself "the strongest man in the world." He is one of the Heroes who tries to calm down others when they start in-fighting.  +
Agil is a very and friendly helpful sort of person, he enjoys helping new players. He's also very into the merchant side of any game he plays. He's even prone to spending his funds at times to help new players out. Though he tends to keep that on the down-low. In combat, he's a fairly skilled off tank with a preference for Axes when it comes to combat. He also will make use of magic but he has a bais towards melee combat. He's also known to have been a major player during the SAO Beta Test and running a cafe known as Dicey's Cafe an American style eater that had a rep as a meeting place for Elder Tale Players. It's also said his wife plays the game well. Rumours also persist at his intention to rebuild his business in this new world.  +
A glum reptilian Werefang that deeply worries that their life could abruptly end at any time. Their constant fretting makes them prone to religious check-ins on anyone they care about. It's an open secret that this behavior is caused by a life of fear of abandonment and rejection, galvanized by the virtual Sword of Damocles they see over their head, though they're reticent about providing greater detail on the events that caused this behavior. These fears also make them hesitant to invoke conflict with other Adventurers.  +
This quiet woman is a member of the famed Knights of the Blood amidst the Aincrad Liberation Front, and is known as one of the strongest fighters in the Guild. She has trouble expressing her feelings in words, so she shows them through her actions instead. She's strong willed, and can have a violent personality at times when people do things that would upset her.  +
Before the apocalypse, the character that went by the name Akatsuki was known as a lone wolf type, refusing to join any guilds and only grouping up for specific quests. He never spoke and quickly became regarded as a highly competent Assassin by the people that did group with him for those short stints. It wasn't until after the apocalypse that the truth came out; acquiring an Appearance Reset Potion to change into a form more matching her real world persona, Akatsuki was replaced by a much shorter female ninja. Though still quiet and taciturn, Akatsuki embraces her role as a ninja fully in this brand new world.  +
An Imp Acolyte, Akikoji is a supporting member of The Aincrad Liberation Front. While not a huge fighter he focuses his skills on keeping the damage dealers healed and healthy as well as making it easier for them to take down the enemy with debuffs. He casts his skills with the ribbons tied around his wrists, using magic to elongate them and carry his spells to others. Just because he's usually on the back lines, doesn't mean he's useless! Occassionally Aki will be found wandering around the starting areas, assisting players that have not leveled up much or struggle with regular upkeep. Always found walking with a spring in his step and a sway in his tail.  +
One of the heads of the Tower of Mages, Akumeiji the Arc Mage of the Tower of Mages is the one commonly seen out and about to interact with Landers and Adventurers both, and works closely with the Hunters Guild. This yellow haired and bespectacled woman is well natured and easy to speak to.  +
A feline Cait Sith known for her obsession with money. She's also the Lord of The Golden Fields, a dominion of The Ninetails Dominion.  +
She's short, with silver shoulder length hair. Her fingers are slightly calloused fromplaying instruments. Her attitude is generally driven for any goals she decides are worth obtaining, and positive she will make it happen. She tends towards the flute and the violin as her preferred instrumants. She's good at storytelling, if you can convince her to tell you one anyway though once you do it's unknown how true that story may be. She tends to smile and listen rather than speak unlessshe's performaing. There's usually a knife or a dagger hidden somewhere to jab at those who annoy her, though nobody has seen her actually stick any monsters with it or stab anyone, it has come out a few times seemingly from nowhere.  +
Allie is a bundle of energy that is always busy working, often seen helping landers with their farmland and eagerly hoping to one day have a farm of her own. Its not uncommon to find Allie covered in dirt from a days hard work and often carries a smile, regardless of the situation, on quiet days, she is also seen fishing or trying to peddle her share of crops. Some might also recognize her a recent Nero Idol before the apocalypse, and one that covered her escapades on Elder Tale Online, with a reputation for getting herself into all sorts of trouble and being the founder of a fundraising group to aid those effected by the Flash of death.  +
Very much a Veteren gamer as well as Veteren MMO player. Before Elder Tale, she never played a tank, always DPS, now? Well she is a tank, and a fairly good one at that, though, her first few times tanking were bad, luckily, she stuck to her guns and 'learned to tank good.' Finding that this place is WAY better than the life she had before, she could see herself living to a ripe old age here, with a lifetime of adventures. She takes her role as a tank very seriously, defending the weak, helping the people of the land, and making sure that those who wish to join her chosen role, know how to do so. She played Fragment when it came out, as well as other MMOs, but Eldertale got her hooked, and she joined a raiding guild as soon as she learned her tanking role. She also has a deep love for Ramen, snark and dark humor. Why is she a tank? BECAUSE YOU GET THE SWORD AND SHIELD BABYYYY!  +
A retiree who joined the Elder Tale Online to keep in contact with her daughter and granddaughter, one might think that Amalthea's fascination with the online world to be casual at best. How wrong they would be. Since the Apocalypse, Amalthea has taken it upon herself to hit the 'game' hard and try to find a way back to the real world where her family waits for her. She is as kind and motherly to younger players as she is unstoppably relentless in her drive to grow stronger and reach the unexplored cracks in the world in hopes that one of them will take her back to the life she had with her family.  +
Ameia Whiteheart is best known for her strange, innovative ways of using magic and items. Constantly pushing the boundaries of what's known about the world and mechanics of Elder Tale Online, she passes most her knowledge on to the Scale Emblem, empowering fellow members to clear the tower as fast as possible. She seems to not take part in clearing floors, or grinding, but rather spends her time researching or making deals.  +
A new Healer in the Town of Beginnings who claims to have been an important figure within the Axis Cult near Mac Anu - which doesn't appear to be recognized by any Landers. She however is a remarkably good healer for someone with her personality - which most people have been unable to overlook. She is violently opposed to the Undead in all their forms, and knows how to party with the best of Adventurers, making her somewhat more pleasant to interact with during social gatherings and celebrations rather than when she is trying to actually do Adventuring -- the latter tending to cause more problems than it solves (if any). Aqua appears to be attached at the hip most of the time to another odious Adventurer by the name of Kazuma. This has not endeared her to anyone, and their combined antics have racked up quite a lot in debt in a very short period of time.  +
A day-one player, many may know who Kowareta Arashi is, but few have ever found themselves in a group with the equine were fang. A prominent solo player whom is constantly wandering, looking, and searching the many zones of Elder Tale for an unknown reason. Many point to the broken blade across her back to prove a rumor. She seeks to reforge the exotic weapon she claimed before the Apocalypse. This is just a rumor, however, as the woman rarely is set LFG, and even more rarely talks about her current objectives or past achievements. She -is- a member of the New World Alliance, and has herself listed as a member of the Silver Sword guild, but it is believed she has these tags to cover expenses and get resources she could not obtain any other way.  +
This is a craftgnome. All craftgnomeship is of the highest quality. The craftgnome is adorned with plates of steel, and menaces with a hammer of mythril. Arianne is someone who has dabbled in every craft at some point, trying out the game, before eventually settling into what she has. A creater of goods in game and out, she turned her skills towards seeing just what she could make in the system. And, in the process, supplying the market with quality starter goods at reasonable prices... even as she was quite happy to scalp the salarymen, both in gold and yen, for fancy and rare things to show off at their next Dive meeting. Now that the game has become reality, she's turned all of that towards using the chance to perfect what crafts she can, with all of the rare and fantastic materials available to her, supplying the fruits of her labour to Climbers to see where and how they break for the next attempt.  +
"Isn't he that guy who doesn't talk much and then just walks off when you turn your head for a moment?" This is the typical reputation that Arioch had gained with most people in the game before the Apocalypse. Not being able to leave has changed his interactions with the other players. While still quiet, he seems willing to lend a helping hand where needed and be a bit less abrupt in his departures. His main goal now is to escape the world he has been locked into.  +
A mysterious Spriggan.  +
A newbie to VR gaming at the time of the Apocalypse, Asuna is now known as The Flash for her skills with a rapier and her quick thinking in the face of grave danger. She strives to the fullest with her peers in the Scale Emblem Alliance to get back to the real world.  +
A bright, cheerful sight, Atif is the kind of player character who tries to maintain a warm atmosphere for everyone around him. Having played ETO since shortly after it's release, he's taken on an active part in helping other players with ingame activities wherever needed, be it by using unarmed combat skills to fight through mobs, providing healing items or simply offering encouragement and moral support. In spite of his otherwise supportive and cheerful demeanour, he makes an abject point of not speaking of his life outside of ETO, apparently preferring to instead do what he can to make life within the virtual world as good as he can for the people around him.  +
"Att Syne" is a handle well-known amongst Elder Tale BBS groups for its association with high-quality and often complex user modifications for the offline game. Most notably, Att Syne managed to continue distributing mods during the internet "Dark Times," with various copies of his works ending up in the hands of fans worldwide, copied and recopied from whatever odd place they turned up. Online, Att Syne is talkative and friendly, often remarkable for the goofy side projects he gets into like stress-testing the world and trying (and sometimes succeeding) to break new encounter mechanics. In battle, he fights with the fervor and focus necessary to justify his continued presence amongst raiders and clearers -- an attitude that reinforces rumors that he was one of the SAO beta testers, and that the current world of Elder Tale Online is not yet to his liking...  +
Usually reserved, Ayame holds herself back socially and pushes forward in a fight; a shield user, barrier warrior, summoner who puts herself in front of her summons. She presents herself immaculately, she moves with the typical grace of a sylph, and she'd love to have more time. An idealist, she wants people to be happy.  +
A young Sylph accolyte, occasionally finding work as a messenger. She's known to avoid fighting with other people whenever possible unless cornered or coming to someone's aid, at which she'd wield magic. Like a nymph of sorts, she tends to spend her time in the wilderness.  +
B
BT +
BT is an old hand at the VRMMORPG world. She played Fragment back in the day, though she skipped Sword Art Online's beta, as her real life duties took precedence. At the early rumors of the Key of Twilight being involved in Elder Tale Online once more, she found herself returning to that world - only to get trapped. She now puts in every effort to get out, having a bad feeling that if they do not leave soon, the events of Fragment may be repeated once again.  +
Balmung of the Azure Sky has been the subject of message board discussions since he and his partner, Orca of the Azure Sea, destroyed the legendary unstoppable superboss known as the One Sin back in Fragment. His famous white angel wings and title stand as one of the legacies of that bygone time - as is the digital prison he seeks to free Orca from. The more taciturn of the Descendants of Fianna, Balmung keeps people at bay with a harsh chivalric exterior, unable and unwilling to trust people easily. That's in no small part thanks to the events of Debauchery Tea Party and its end, which left Balmung rudderless in his search for Orca's cure, and reinforced his isolationist, solo-focused attitude.  +
Bear is a long time player of VR games who was involved in several incidents in Fragment. He was involved in SAO's Beta test and when the Pluto's kiss happened? Bear thought that would be the end of online gaming. However when Elder Tale launched and once more he took up his identity as Bear. In reality, Bear is a fairly famous author who doesn't like to broadcast that much. In Elder Tale Bear is known for being part of the Debauchery Tea Party. He is generally calm, thoughtful well-spoken and is very clearly well-read from his love of working various works of literature. In combat he adept with melee combat with a focus on one-handed swords.  +
Present since the hectic flight from the Ezzo Empire on the day of the Apocalypse, Bell Cranel has been one of the many small names in the Crescent Moon guild. He's a relative unknown, but recently was found with the mysterious Traveler known as Hestia beneath the City of Alne.  +
Bercouli is the leader to the Rulid Dukedom, the dukedom most involved in the construction of new ships for the Fourland Dukedom. He's a prideful man with a surprising amount of battle experience for the son of a shipbuilder. It is said that Bercouli never loses his composure before any-one, or any-thing.  +
Bete has a rough personality, and prefers to be the 'top dog' in most situations. He hates weak people, and will loudly proclaim this. He is bad at reading the mood, is a bad drunk, and is known to run his mouth. Yet, regardless of his failings, he's a powerful fighter, has a heroic slant, and will protect anyone weaker than him.  +
BlackRose is one of those types who are a definition of how one should never judge a book by its cover. Her initial outward appearance and attitude makes her seem like a tough woman with a somewhat antagonistic attitude to those who she doesn't see eye-to-eye with at times. In reality, this is but a cover for who she truly is, and that is a person with a kind heart and a strong sense of loyalty to those who she considers to be friends and allies of hers, especially Kite who shares a similar goal with her. She seeks to awaken her brother, Kazu, who has been in a coma ever since he played Fragment. After that, her ultimate goal is to escape from this world which, in a case of irony, caused her to become trapped in the same way her brother is.  +
A fox-tailed girl whom rarely seems to draw her blade by her side unless in a pinch. It's rumored that it's more of a decorative piece more than anything considering not many party with Blossome, even if she isn't opposed to it and is welcoming to support those on her good-side. Leaning towards more utility, Blossome helps the frontlines but isn't afraid to join the fray in melee range as well. Originally joined Crescent Moon, later was recruited into Plant Hwyaden through Kyo Kirin after the apocalypse. Blossome seems to employ more of an adventerous aspect without looking for trouble. Usually she's found looking for player-run events or the cutest clothings rather than a hunting quest on the mission board.  +
An Undine Pirate, Brann Sjorover is a Journeyman member of the Grandeur Guild. A bit of a ladies man and a gambler, he likes to drink and party. Firmly believing in live for today because tomorrow isn't guaranteed. Charming and suave, smart and funny, but as lethal as any beast of the great deep. Always up for a fight but more so up for a big score of plunder, coin and jewels, weapons and items of unimaginable worth. Oh yes hes always ready to take what he wants and give nothing back, and kill or mame any and all who get in his way.  +
Loud and passionate, Bushi Kamuto is a man that embodies the very model of your traditional live action superhero. An individual who strongly believes in protecting those who can't help themselves, they use their Were Fang physiology to adopt the role of Brave Hero Janus, a massive Dire Blade Beetle themed warrior, to see their work done. However, outside the game, they're a drastically different person. Rather than loud and boisterous, they're cold and milquetoast, a far cry from their Elder Tale Online persona, having seemingly lifted and adopted their character wholesale from an unpublished manga that also bears the title "Brave Hero Janus".  +
C
Carbon is an adrenaline junkie, from a very young age he found himself drawn to activities that would give him the kind of rush that he wanted. He eventually found that same rush in the thrill of the hunt in VR games. Playing a stealthy sniper, the rush of unleashing a perfectly timed arrow and felling a massive foe, it was all he had dreamed of. He never really thought he'd be doing it full time though. Primarily he likes to work from the shadows, picking off targets at range with his bow, and he prides himself on his accuracy. Outside of combat, he can often be found tinkering on machinery, using skills from the real world to help with Olympus' various high end projects. He also hopes to someday build a full internal combustion engine to work on like he used to.  +
Chamo is a proud and selfish girl. She is uncooperative and gets easily bored or angered. Born to the Eastal Free League, she is often considered an unwanted hero. She also gets the urge to kill anything angering or bothering her. Because of Chamo's grotesque and tremendous power, she is extremely feared by her enemies and allies both. She is considered incredibly out of sorts for her species.  +
Chikako is not a 'werefang'. She is not a human, she is not an adventurer. She. Is. An. Oni. Or so she insists, whenever anyone asks, and has since the day she first logged in to ETO. Most people assume she's more than a little chuuni. (They're probably right.) Before the Apocalypse, she was a solo player who preferred getting into fights with the biggest and toughest monsters she could handle. She would only join parties or raid groups if there was a suitable Boss monster involved. Since then, she's fallen in with the Sleeping Knights, where she fits in terrifyingly well.  +
Rather amusingly named this, meaning 'Middle-aged merchant', the bear Cait Sith is a grumpy older man with a scruffy beard and the attitude befitting someone of his veteran status. He is the Lord of The Trademen dominion within The Ninetails Dominion.  +
The player calling himself 'Count V' is a well-known figure within the former territories of the Ezzo Empire. He carved out a name for himself creating guides for Elder Tale Online's de facto hard mode, ingratiating himself further with that niche of the community by forming spontaneous hard mode parties out of whoever he happened across at the time. A good listener and patient teacher, V is nevertheless evasive about himself and frequently deflects inquiries about his life and the meaning behind his handle with a combination of gentle teasing and outlandishly unbelievable lies. While not a threatening fighter individually, V is a talented support player that can make any party's life a lot easier.  +
An Undine Warmaster, Creed is nominally a member of the Aincrad Liberation Front. In truth though, the taciturn scout spends most of his time venturing solo through the upper levels of the tower. Dubbed Anti-Social by the majority of his piers, he none-the-less can be called upon to share knowledge gleaned from his travels, and seems earnestly dedicated toward the goal of one day escaping the game.  +
Crim is a very happy-go-lucky player he loves living on the edge. He's prone to finding the most powerful monsters he can find to test himself. He has a reputation as a self-proclaimed defender of justice. He is seldom prone to turning down calls for help doubly so if it's a pretty lady. He's got a reputation as a major player in Fragment and was known to have played SAO as well. However, it was a mysterious mail he received about getting answers to the incidents on Fragment if he logged on to Elder Tale. With the current state of affairs, he's seeking both his answers and a way out of this strange world.  +
A Pooka Adventurer with a kind spirit, Curtana Willowbright finds joy in aiding others with whatever they may need help with. If he has to decline to help someone due to time conflicts, he starts to feel terrible about not being able to aid others. He is more comfortable when his surroundings when he's not in the hustle and bustle of the major cities. Around those that feels comfortable enough to fully relax with, he always seems ready to just enjoy whatever comes his way.  +
Cynwrig has been across several BBSes in RP Communities inspired by offline games, even on RP Guilds on pre-Pluto's Kiss games, often by a multitude of names, each with a lengthy backstory, highly developed personality, and affected speech. A small time self published writer of strange alternative fantasy mangas of heroes struggling against morality, who merely dabbles in the true game, instead exploring the ideas of the game, and the less explored nooks and crannies. But dropped into this world, he now faces the true test, what his own story will be, and the stories of others as they develop. A man with a fascination for others and their stories, Cynwrig falls into a support role, putting himself forward, but more with shield than with blade  +
Cyrus has been in the MMORPG circles for a while, as a member of various raiding guilds, only to pop up once again in Elder Tale Online. Once a member of the Silver Sword, he's long since moved to a more background role in Grandeur, using his crafting skills to make in game money. Approachable, if a bit rough, this Snowleopard-type Cait Sith Adventurer seems 'tired' unless someone in particular engages him directly - or he finds something remarkable to laser-focus in on.  +

Daiyu has had a profilic career even before the Apocalypse. She has repeatedly proven herself a skilled strategist as well as combatant, using her abilities in enchantment and alchemy to pick foes apart with frightening precision, or bolster her allies against the odds. She operates like a master chess player, always planning dozens of steps ahead and backup gambits to pursue her goals. When necessary Daiyu can also be a sabotuer and spy, utilizing the mystical grace and stealth of her Were Fang subspecies to get into places she shouldn't be able. The downside to her method of operation is that Daiyu hates to act before she has a tangible and achievable goal in her sight, that won't expend more time and resources than necessary for efficient execution. She can plan for days and weeks on end, but won't take course until she's certain of an acceptable outcome. This often makes the otherwise wiley vixen appear langourous and indifferent. Until she leaps into action like an elemental dervish when she sees her oppritunity. Aside to her mystic abilities her weapons of choice are the tessen fighting fan, and a dueling sword concealed in the shaft of a parasol.  +
Dare is a carefree adventurer who is always up for taking on a challenge or trying something new, a deliberate departure from the nature of his real world player, who dove into the VR world to escape from the overwhelming stress of real life and forge a new identity. When the Apocalypse happened, Dare took it as an opportunity to really start over and make the kind of life for himself that he always wished for but never could accomplish in real life. On the surface, he comes off as a brash, generally good-natured, clever fellow, with a sharp wit that gets him in trouble as often as not. Only those who take the time to get to know him well will discover that this is largely to cover the insecurities he brought with him from the "old world."  +
Known as a lady knight of high moral caliber and impenetrable defenses, in the potent class of Crusader, Darkness is a wandering champion in the style of the knights errant of medieval times in Europe or the wandering Ronin of Japan. She would gain a lot more recognition if her real name, Lalatina Ford Dustiness was used, however, due to her being the daughter of a famous and very wealthy real-world CEO, Ignis Ford Dustiness, who has used his business influence to obtain great in-game wealth and prestige to match his off-line holdings.  +
While she's tentative about opening up to new people, Delphine is a bold and dedicated friend to those who win her trust. She was a relative newcomer to Elder Tale Online before the Apocalypse, but she's not afraid to act on her beliefs - that the strong should not run roughshod over the weak, and that no matter how strong you are, the world deserves to be protected as much as possible. She enjoys pitting her body and brain against strong and interesting monsters, and she loves to explore and try to learn whatever she can. Perhaps the day will come when she's able to return to the world that was left behind - but until then, she's going to make the most of what she can do in this one.  +
While Honami would like to think that she's a mysterious figure that appears without a trace or something like that, the reality of the fact is that... she's... fairly well known! Demonrose Honami is known as a silly chuunibyou roleplayer who has managed to keep the roleplay personality even past the apocalypse, wether out of habit or because it's her actual personality. In spite of claims like how she's going to destroy the world, Demonrose Honami is actually a very helpful and fairly friendly person who does her best to make sure everyone around her is smiling with her antics. Intensely embarrased by her own antics at the same time, she will occasionally flip out of character when it gets to be too much. Regardless, she is not just a helpless roleplayer, she's actually a fairly competent combatant in her own right.  +
Dex is a foreigner who moved to Japan in an attempt to escape the mundanity of his life. However, he soon found himself falling into the same trappings as he had back home, living alone and friendless in a land where his accent immediately outs him as a stranger even in online interactions. With nothing else to really tether himself to in reality, he turned to Elder Tale Online, delving deep into the world and finding more success there than he ever had in reality. So when the Apocalypse struck and he found himself 'trapped' in the world, he didn't despair. In fact, quite the opposite, he relished in it. In this world he could be somebody, have influence and form bonds that he felt denied in the outside world. Instead of looking for a way out, he wants to keep people here, to build himself into a legend and let no one deny that he was at least someone somewhere.  +
Borywick Rockborer is a Gnomish Archmage who found himself as both a member of the Divine Dragons and a resident of the Ninetails Dominion, and he is doing his best to meet the expectations that others put upon him. His meekness and passiveness are uncharacteristic of those typically in his guild, but when it comes to game completion, he is as passionate as his fellow guildmates. Most often, you will find him on the sidelines, trying not to stand out, but when necessary he will step up to make sure the job gets done.  +
One of the three 'office folk' who decided to play together. Dowafu is an old worker at a news company, and the game master to an old roleplaying game he and a few of his friends used to play. He really wanted to have a chance to play a character out, and joined Elder Tale Online to have a good time with the rest of his friends - only to get stuck. He's always looking for adventurer. He refuses to call himself 'Gnome' and when given the chance, will call races by their 'Dungeons and Dragons' race.  +
E
A self proclaimed Pirate Lord, attractive and charismatic, a ladies man and skilled with a cutlass. Eirik tends to wear black leather armor with a nordic looking sigil emblazoned upon it. A good brawler and a better sailor, has a love for the drink and has a taste for fine whiskey's and meads. The Undine man has a love for music and dance and watching the way people move when over taken by a diddy. Though he's no bard himself when he gets a bit buzzed or more he starts to sing old sea shanties. His first love is the sea and he will always return to her, no matter what he has going on, on dry land.  +
A female Sylph Magic Knight, a member of the Odysseia Knights. Lena elegantly and mesmerizing dances around the battlefield, cutting down enemies with 2 swords while evading their attacks and destroying them with magic. Although a member of the Scale, Lena kills monsters and enemies in and outside of the Tower equally, tends to do quests and enjoy living in this world with its people. She cooks delicious meals and desserts. Lena prefers solo, rather than belongs to a squad and be told what to do  +
Eliza Wyndham hails from the pastoral landscapes of the Ninetails Dominion, where for most of the first year after the Apocalypse she lived on a farm owned by a Lander named Brynjar Iversen. She became known among the local farmers for her talents with animal care, her fondness for animals in general (especially her beloved Peko companion, Sunny), as well as her lovely singing voice, with which she often sings to the creatures in her care. Now, she works as a veterinarian under the employ of the merchant lord Lelia Mofur, one of the two sisters who lead the Tamers of Life dominion. Though she has done her best to assimilate into Lander society (being a firm believer that the Landers are just as much people as the Adventurers) and commit fully to her new life and identity, she is indeed an Adventurer- a Shepard to be precise, who takes that title a bit further than most by wielding a shepherd's crook as her signature weapon. Fond of exploring the great outdoors, she often takes on quests as opportunities to sightsee. She prefers to stay out of direct combat, instead focusing her powers on protecting and supporting others. She is a member of the Moon Tree Guild.  +
Elk was a player of fragment when he was younger, there he met another player named Mia who he was inseparable with. Distraught after Fragment went down? Elk jumped on a rumour that Mia was playing Elder Tale Online. He also received a mysterious email telling him if he wanted answers to log on to Elder Tale on a certain day. Elk himself is a rather insecure person, he has issues trusting people and often is shocked when someone is nice to him. While it's hard to gain his trust, for those few who have? He will follow them into hell lending his skills as a mage to them.  +
Elrune joined Elder Tale Online only hours before the Apocolypse. Having to learn to navigate the game, and world, in a way she wasn't used to. She has chosen to focus on her roleplaying, her character and the world of Elder Tale. Determined to drink deep of the world's lore and its people. A Healer & Bard, but also a Priestess working towards bettering the world and the people who live in it.  +
Emiko joined the game just some week before the big upgrade. She chose a Cait Sith as her avatar. Barely out of the newbie quests and having taken a career as self proclaimed fox tamer, she learned to prefer the power of her tamed beasts over the chigiriki she is armed with. After being online on new years eve, she ends up stuck with the Apocalypse. She doesn't like to discuss the First Life.  +
One of the three 'office folk' who decided to play together. The youngest member of a news company, she used to play in the tabletop games with Dowafu and Rizadoman, and became fast friends with them. She's the least experienced of them all, but often feels that her younger insights are just as valuable. She's a bit of a bookish girl, but she refuses to let it show within the world of Elder Tale Online. She's often at odds with Dowafu, in a friendly competition kind of way, and often gets far too much into her roleplaying of her character. She's also quite the social butterfly when she's not out adventuring and knows the Taverns of Yamato very well.  +
Esclado is Spriggan priest that stands for justice, and care for the meek. Despite the prejudice shown the Spriggan race, he is outspoken and forthright. As an adventurer he is supportive, and loyal. He loves to experience new things, adventures, and foods and share them with friends. Like any Ninetailer he charges for his services as an exorcist, but only if he thinks the person can afford it. He often undercharges or performs gratis for the infirmed. He claims his origins to be in the Carnival of Dreams, and will rarely even admit there was a life prior to the Apocalypse. Instead of that he refers to it as the New Dawn.  +
This vixen is a very curious young woman. She wants to know EVERYTHING about the history of the world, especially beyond the Eastal Free League. Her other obsession is the stars, charting their path along the virtual(?) heavens, learning the stories and constellations unique to this world, and comparing them to those of the real world... even as she plays up their importance, the 'fates visible in the stars' and how they apply to the world. Still, she's outgoing; always willing to talk about the world and what people have learned about it, to jot them out a star chart or horoscope, or even just to try and point someone in the right direction to find what they're looking for. She just wants to explore, experience, and spend lazy nights gazing up at the stars.  +

The daughter to Potimas Harrifenas, her relationship has reportedly been a bit strained with him since the last year. Still, she's carried out his will dutifully, and seems dedicated to his cause.  +
Flame Lord to the Holy Empire Westelande. He's since dropped the title of Holy Emperor of his predescessors and taken on the mantle of Flame Lord, to show that he wishes to take the Empire into a different direction. He's a bold man who has no qualms with the further militerization of his nation, and the mobilization of a Great Army. He is known to be one of the strongest men in the entire Yamato region, and bears a heavy undeniable presence. Eugene is the victor of many of his nation's Coloseum Battles, risen from the ranks of lower gladiators. Yet, for all of this reputation he is said to be a fair king within the culture of his land, and is deeply religious in nature - heeding The Burning One's light and the council of its priests.  +
Fremy has the appearance of a frail girl with white skin and light white hair, an eye patch covering her right eye, leather clothes, and a black cloth with a blue and pink flower on her head. Fremy comes off as a girl whose cool indifference will not allow other people to get close to her. She also seems very strange to social norms and the like - commonly failing to grasp cultural references.  +
Known for a lot of things, Fukasa is one of those people who it's difficult to know for sure what all is true or not. Very little is known for sure, but the most notable things are that Fukasa was one of the top duelists in PVP events before the apocalypse, tended to help out newbies, and had worked to make a network of friends/contacts for when she needed things. Those who have been helped by her say that it's almost like following a wave that is sweeping away everything in its path. As for personality, there's a somewhat... concerning duality to her, out of combat she tends to be rather calm yet cheerful, but in combat... she gets... a little more into it than might be considered tasteful by some.  +
A gamer nerd and college student who fell in love with online games, Fuka is boisterous and playful and flirty. She's also a sort of "class clown", liable to say clearly-outrageous things before her brain catches up to her mouth. When not fixating on her social skills, she's a solid and strategic player willing to put in surprising amounts of time and effort into work, study or training.  +
G
Gabi is a fierce believer in freedom; he believes that the world of Elder Tale Online is capable of supporting all sorts of play styles, and that all players should be free to play in the way they like best, even if that way involves PKing or hurting others. Though his short and evasive answers may give the appearance that he's stupid, he is much more intelligent then he acts. To those of Plant Hwayden, promises made to Gabi are absolute. He also refuses to read messages more than 'three lines long' and often replies as such.  +
Galen is a wandering warrior who dedicates his time to helping those who need help, and to bettering his own skills and learning about the world around him. He is a master of many weapons and forms of combat, practicing each day to maintain his discipline, but, although he can come off as gruff, never defaults to violence as solution to problems. His magical skills, which are growing steadily, focus on divining the nature of the reality of this new world and exploiting "loopholes." He has been putting serious thought into whether "NPC's" are sentient, since they seem to sometimes show agency that should be impossible for simple artificial intelligence, at least as far as he understands it.  +
Were Fang] Gallant Goldmane is the embodyment of the theatrical twin blade: flamboyant, with a thirst for adventure and challenge, and seemingly endlessly optimistic, he is seldom one to shy away from a fight for the right cause. A frequent itinerant adventurer throughout the realm, he is often seen in his transformed feline were fang aspect, providing aid and support where needed in exchange for very little outside of occasional food and shelter. His distinctive double-wielding combat sytle perfectly appeals to both his agility and his theatrical personality, and it also complemented by the surprising elemental summons. Although he appears happy-go-lucky and the very semblance of the dashing adventurer, there is a deeper side of him: a soft-spoken, wistful romantic with a gentle but ever-present melancholy, a side of him that only comes through when he lets his guard down- and that happens very seldom, and only with people he has come to trust. More often than not, he will try to hide behind the telling of a grand story, which he seems to conjure almost as well as any Bard of the realm. Gallant's player seldom ever talks about his past in the real world, and seems to have become completely comitted to living his Elder Tree life to the fullest, as the only life that matters.  +
Gao Lim is a Palace Lander who has a love for drinking, gambling, and making more drinks from who knows what. Most often found behind a tavern or other establishment's bar showing off his skills at a rather acrobatic bartending style, he often earns his night's stay this way and by breaking up bar fights with handy barrier magics or just flat out tossing someone out. He doubles as a handy bouncer, too. On the surface, at least, he is a happy individual who seems to have escaped a lot of what the ETO world has tossed at him. He wanders the lands trying to figure out life, dressed as some sort of travelling pilgrim-like individual who is oddly enough not even armed or armored. Back in the Palace Lands, however, he earned a reputation before the Apocalypse as a Raid Healer not afraid to get in close and take out an add before healing someone. Usually with a slap upside the head for letting their health get that low. In a fight, he tends to toss off his robe and go into a Were-Fang form based on a beetle monster of some sort. As an Asura he has no problems in keeping himself alive, debuffing an enemy, and ramming a fist or foot into one hard enough other people say 'ow' in appreciation of the hit.  +
Gardenia has a reputation for being cold as she is graceful. She does not seem to smile often if ever. She's also known for generally being very quiet and even when she does speak she doesn't make an effort to make sure shart she said was clearly understood. She also has a Fanclub which she often takes great lengths to avoid when possible. She has also admitted to using a Nagtinata outside the game. It shows how fearsome she is in combat with said weapon. She like Kite received an email claiming that if she logged on to Elder Tale on a certain date? She would get the answers about the strange happenings in Fragment.  +
Garryck is a Were Fang Bull -- if you think minotaur, you won't be far off the mark. And yet, despite being a two meter tall wall of black-furred muscle, he carries himself with a strange sort of gentleness. Maybe it's the glasses perched on the end of his muzzle, or the tip of a harp protruding from the pack slung across his back. Garryck (Garry, or even Garr to his closest friends) has rather gone out of his way to not be noticed overmuch since settling full-time into the realm of Elder Tale. If he's known for anything, it's for livening up the stray evening at an inn with his rich baritone and his harp -- other than that, he has so far been happy to simply fade into the background. At least as far as two meters of jet-black bull *can* fade into the background....  +
Giganpor is a Were Fang Dreadnaught, known for these days for being a tank and also as someone who is doing things probably the wrong way. His fighting is primarily in his human form, saving his Tusked Snow Lion form for when he needs it usually. He wields as his primary weapon a fully metal hammer-axe spear that he swings with frightening ease. As a Dreadnaught it gets more frightening as his custom buckler serves as a focus for him to summon spells or enchantments. Before the Apocalypse, he had the moniker of the "Golden Fang Knight" for riding a summon into boss battles with abandon. Recently some have started to assume he may be trying to retrieve the title again, as he has a bound Nightmare that is said to emerge from his shadow. Usually helpful, his view and actions have become hardened by the Waves of Calamity that have been striking Yamato. One of the few vocal ones that has more of a care for this world than the one Adventurers originated from, he recently tarnished his name by unleashing player forged weapons in Goblin hands within the Tower itself. This has caused strife with most out there and turned him into an untrusted villain in some eyes. A select few see him as having done what he had to do. Those in the New World and others that have visited him have said that he lacks the remorse on his part, enough that it is worrying on what he may do next.  +
The old king of the Town of Beginnings. Very little is known about Gilgamesh to most Adventurers. But the people of the land know of him as the first to climb the 'Crystal Tower'. An imposing and powerful human figure who is known for his immense kindness and his welcoming attitude. He is the one who takes in the strays who left the various kingdoms, and organized the Outcasts in the Town of Beginnings and works closely together with those in power of Alne.  +
The Goblin Slayer is a Silver Ranked Lander from the Eastal Free League. It appears he refuses to take any quests that are not about killing Goblins - despite of what his rank might suggest.  +
Goldenblade was a bundle of energy wrapped up in a veil of cluelessness. She's not entierly up to speed, but she's much better than she used to be when the game started. There are still too many details to wrap her head around them all. If she'd been born here, she'd have grown up with them, but now, it's so hard to sort background noise from urgent things. She'd managed to set her race as human, by luck as much as anything else, and the two-swords fighting style looked pretty cool, so she selected that. She knows a tiny bit of kendo, but mostly from watching tournaments on TV when nothing better was on, back in the day when there were only a few channels. And her son took martial arts lessons, so she got to watch some of those and she's at least seen what it looks like. Now, she runs the Crescent Academy, intended as a place where players and Landers would both come to train, but instead sees a trickle of players who want to learn some of the skills she's developed. She's probably best known as the Eas Builder, having been a major part of the reconstruction and new work surrounding the site, including the modern roadway leading there from Takamatsu. She is also an exceptional weapon and armor smith, though those are not unique qualifications and tend not to get as much attention. Current cards that can be trained are listed on +bbread 9/19.  +
Goldof is tall, with black hair and is always seen with a stern look on his face. He is the Human Hero born to the Fourland Dukedom. He wears heavy and extremely resistant black armor with dark green accents and wields a giant spear in battle. His helmet has two curved horns mimicking a sheep's horns, and his spear is linked to his gauntlet by a heavy chain used like a lanyard. He's known to have a bit of an attitude problem.  +
Gwen is a long time MMORPG player and was an avid player of Elder Tale offline during the dark times. She is fairly serious when she's in a fight but otherwise is a very big goofball out of combat. With a love of music and 'Cosplay'. Her accent leads people to think she's not from Japan. Also, an avid reader who likes to devour mythology books. In combat, she's generally filled the role of a tank trying to keep her comrades from harm. She's also known to party with two of her out of game family members.  +
H
Ji is a Pooka Lord, she tends to stay out of combat sending her summons in to tank while she occasionally tosses in spells. Most of her time spent trying to level or get items to give her advantages when in PvP.  +
Hans is a man with long disheveled hair that covers his eyes, born as the Hero of the Were Fangs to the Ninetails Dominion. His clothes are simple and patched-up. His appearance is also reminiscent to that of a cat. He also has a tail, unusual for Werefangs. His speech pattern is inspired by cats, as he based his fighting style on the way cat moves. He is quite strong, despite how skinny he looks under his clothes.  +
Hanzo was just a person in the real world who enjoyed video games...and held down in the real world by a life-threatening illness. What he has failed to find in the real world, he has found here in Elder Tale Online. Serious and stubborn, but with a strong moral compass and compassionate heart, Hanzo is a walking force of nature. He always strives to make the most of any situation he finds himself in. It does not matter if it's a fight, an investigation, or an extremely difficult quest, Hanzo throws 100 percent of himself into everything that he does. All he has in this world is a desire to be the best and that same desire makes itself known here: That he can do everything in this world that doctors told him he could never do. So with a sword, he dares to defy his dark fate.  +
An aloof Enchanter with a monocle that Commands the Crafting division of the Silver Sword. He works hard to organize the efforts of the New World Alliance into activities that are accessible to all the members. The silver haired human is a surprisingly capable duelist that focuses on augmented elemental summons and status effects. A lack of physical prowess have given his arms the title of 'Noodle Arms' despite being quite attractive. His focus on Wave Artes and Accessory Forging have placed him as one of the first and few that were able to break the Crown of Control during the War of the Dragons. Eccentric and punny, the young man appears haunted and burdened by the sins of his past that he strives to overcome through merit and deed within Elder Tales. He enjoys sweets, computer science, art, and travel.  +
A previous member of the Twilight Brigade, Haseo is perhaps more prominently known as The Terror of Death, an infamous PKKer who supposedly fought and defeated one hundred players at once. Rumored to have some sort of connection to the Key of Twilight, they spend most of their time tracking down an old internet rumor known as Tri-Edge, a mysterious player killer with equally mysterious abilities, all in the hopes of confronting and defeating them. Crass, rude, and genuinely unpleasant to be around for prolonged periods, Haseo is a person who seems to actively push others away, more fixated on acquiring levels and power more than anything else. Even still, there are occasional cracks in the way he acts, revealing a person who deep down actually cares, no matter how much he's convinced himself otherwise.  +
The well mannered fore-front leader of the Aincrad Liberation Front, and the one who leads the elite army at its center, the Knights of the Blood. He holds great sway amidst the rest of the climbing guilds due to his knowledge of the game. A defense type player who's HP is rumored to have never fallen below half.  +
Ruler of a forgotten kingdom, Helena Lethe is a dangerous, cruel, wicked, and vengeful vampire. While a sliver of her humanity may grant a touch of mercy, it is a fleeting moment that should never be trusted. Helena commands an army of undead and spirits as her loyal soldiers. Carrying out her wicked plans to snuff out lives as she attempts to expand her presence, reclaim her kingdom, and perhaps dig out the very man who set this dark wheel in motion.  +
Hifumi is a chef outside of game. He brings those skills with him and just wants to run an inn, serve Adventurers and Landers alike. He wants to make the most amazing dishes using all the fantasy ingredients and see peoples reaction to them. He wants to try out all of the brewing and other skills to get the food and to fill his inn with happy faces.  +
Himari is a small-time Idol that decided to take her performances into the Nero Idol realm, where she had an unexpected surge in popularity. She found herself caught during the Apocalypse, she's now taken it upon herself to look after the memorials of dead Landers, as well as memorial sites set up by other Adventurers for family that they can no longer see.  +
An older player who decided it would be fun to try and play the merchant game. Though still largely distrusted by the Ninetails Dominion due to his status as an Adventurer, he none-the-less has made an impact on the Ninetails Dominion's economy due to his shrewd business practices. He proudly proclaims himself to be a Salaryman.  +
An Imp Harbinger tank. She's noted for somewhat mismatched armor, adhoc ways of carrying her alchemy supplies, which she actively tries to use while tanking and a habit of using DoTs to maintain her aggro. She has joked more than once about being a happy, bright imp that relies on a horror show method of tanking. She thinks it's funny. She was prone to posting fan art on the BBS fairly frequently, usually obfuscated from her usual style. At the time, there are rumors that she's some kind of professional.  +
An MMO veteran trying something new, Hyuga has been around the block before, but not as a physical fighter! He leverages a lust for knowledge and learning with the complete inability to let his fellows come to harm, mostly at the extent of his own health. Combining the polite poise of a perceived noble with the down and dirty nature of a commoner, he is always in the mood to make new friends and try new things... especially food! Some might notice, however, that he sometimes has trouble with basic socialization, though his nervousness will not stop him from trying! On the field, however, he almost slips into a different mindset, and can lead or follow orders with the best of them... at least, he tries to!  +
I
The old feline looking Cait Sith that seems to play an important role within Kallamore Kingdom. He runs many of the supplies and peace keeping within Lumina Cloth, and deals a lot with both the Adventurers and the various wealthy members of Kallamore Kingdom.  +
He's a complete noob, or rather, he goes beyond that, it's like he's never played a game before at all! Probably because he hasn't. He seems to think healing sounds nice and is more than willing to learn if people are patient with him, but also seems to intentionally not want to get in people's way.  +
J
A reckless thrill seeker, Jaundry is known to be a devoted bare handed brawler who loves to seek out challenges, whether they be player or npc. He is extremely aggressive in his combat style, often ending up in quite a bit of hot water because of that. Though a noted member of the Silver Sword, he is one of the members that has no issue helping with raids in Aincrad tower, though it is again simply thanks to seeking thrills-not because he has any intention of leaving.  +
The Uncrowned Jayu, who's name fittingly means "Liberation" in Korean, is a very serious Spriggan. Whatever he sets his mind to, he sticks with it until he is done. He has a strong, loving dedication toward his Queen, who he would do anything for: even die. He is passionate about assisting, teaching, and protecting those in need; he himself had been in a hopeless, rock-bottom situation, and it was the help of his friends that made him into who he is today.  +
Jazuhanzu is a complete newbie to Elder Tales Online. Seems they were drawn into the game the very same day that the catastrophe struck. While they are perhaps not used to how immersive virtual gaming, they don't seem a stranger to the mechanics of MMOs or RPGs in particular generally. Their Japanese is decent, but imperfect, and their American accent bleeds through when in communication with other players, when they bother to speak at all. Long periods of quiet seem to be a groove they naturally fall into, along with wandering to explore nooks and crannies even when it's ill-advised. Especially when it's ill-advised. They are, at least, the kind of player who seems to jump in to help others at the drop of a hat when it seems they're in need.  +
The Lord of the Tower of Mages, one of the dominions of The Ninetails Dominion. And old Pooka, he's a rather rare existance within the Human and Cait Sith dominated Kingdom. He's a man with a strange sense of humor, who is rarely seen in public.  +
Jimmu can occasionally come off as curt, or even sinister, on first meeting, but those who have interacted with him realize that the Magic Knight simply doesn't talk very much. He's a roving explorer who often tries to help out people who seem to be in trouble, or provides combat backup for a support character who wants to explore the Tower or other monster infested areas.  +
The young, and incredibly powerful Hero of the Rosenheim Kingdom. Loyal to the Rosenheim Kingdom, Julius Zagan Analeit is often seen together with the Queen of the Kingdom. He's got a youthful and incredibly chivalrous demeanor, and his skill with the sword is reportedly unparalleled within the Palace Lands. Yet for all of his chivalry, he's considered a monster amongst Landers because of the immense strength he possesses.  +
Jun Miruno is a Bun-Bun Cait Sith, known for her sweet personality and her sales of her sweet sugared candy in the form of felins. She is the leader of the Carnival of Dreams, one of the dominions within The Ninetails Dominion.  +
June is a wildcard in the true sense. She is know for chaotic choices, a propensity to violence, and for being a flirt, if flirt is the right word. The WereFang enjoys PVP, Dungeon Crawling, and anything that seems dangerous. While at the same time being known to spend inordintate time working on writing and caligraphy. The Shadow Fist is as happy indulging herself, as she is pounding on anything strong enough to pose a challenge.  +
Jurou is a very new player to Elder Tale Online, having only joined just before the Apocalypse expansion trapped everyone inside the game. She is a Salamander Justicar, who focuses on a defensive play-style utilizing fire magic and a large sword. Trapped along side her girlfriend, Kita, Jurou has joined with the Odysseia Knights to seek an escape from this world and a return to their real lives outside of the game.  +

Kaleido seeks attention, affirmation, achievement, and other a-words that put them in the center of things. Rolling a support/utility build as a Hymnist, they've sought to be indispensible to others - as a stalwart ally in battle, as the one and only source for obscure lore or puzzle solutions, or even just as the shoulder for everyone to cry on - all of which feeds into their narcissistic desire for attention. As a member of the Divine Dragons, Kaleido continues their quest to be indispensible, now to those climbing the tower - throwing around their social skills, mastery of the lore, and adventuring prowess to funnel this new world's resources towards finding a way back to home.  +
A Human dual swords-woman, Kana, is a silvery graceful fighter who loves to spend time with people and go on adventures, exploring, leveling and gaining loot. She prefers fighting with her twin blades however is also known to use her violin to provide utility when needed. She loves to cook, create fashion and music, also spending time to make sure she is looking presentable.  +
Karaoke is a rather curious player, and character for that matter. A Dire Tanuki Were Fang, their entire goal in Elder Tale Online just seems to be completion. Achievements. Doing everything. Exploring the world, collecting fun things, enjoying the non-combat professions, being anywhere and everywhere. Why? Well, it's a game after all, they would say! One might suspect them to be something of an RPer given their choice of only using Summoner abilities while untransformed and Blademaster abilities while transformed, even though the option otherwise exists, though if there's reasons otherwise they haven't said.  +
Non-descript, easilly forgotten. Karoshi is a collection of default choices and apparent laziness. The player is a cipher, the sort of kind who would have just breezed in and out without interacting with anything. No information on lore, no information on mechanics, and no apparent knowledge of even how things like the log-out system and inventory work. In Combat, Karoshi is a blunt instrument, not quite mastering the nuances of the combat system, but approaching it with relentless, brutal simplicity. He doesn't take games seriously, but when something stops being a game, that's when the seriousness comes out.  +
The Silent Blade. That is what Kasai has been going for ever since day one of his existence in Elder Tale Online. He has worked hard to build himself a reputation as being the kind of player who will PK with no hesitation. He has taken contracts on players, or on Landers, or anything in between. He tries to keep an air of stoic professionalism when interacting with others. It's not personal, it's just business. The last thing he would want is for people to know the truth about the player behind the cait sith; that he is a scared teenager who so desperately wants to be feared or respected and will do what he can to find both.  +
No one knows what Katherine's real identity is, as it is never something that became known thanks to her always being in character. Before the expansion, Katherine was known for her seductive nature, honey words, and somehow wrapping the most powerful players around her finger. She was informative about the world and knew what strings to pull to get the best of the best. With the expansion out and now trapped in the world of Yamato, Katherine is picking up the pieces of her fallen empire. Now a bit more involved with combat, she can be found roaming from one nation to another. Listening to Landers and Adventurers alike, offering her services to the powerful and still never breaking character.  +
Kauchemar is an eccentric creature, a dire equine were fang that has embellished herself in the folklore of nightmares. She mimics the aspect of haunting dreams through disruptive dark magic, frightening summons and emotionally charged music. However unlike her inspiration she is not a evil being. She just enjoys playing the role of troublemaker and rival to make stories more interesting and drive others to get stronger. Kauchemar is a mischievous muse and trickster that can be equal parts inspiring and intimidating with her ostentatious displays, casting a darkness others must surpass to find their shine. Part of her performance virtuoso comes from her player having been a digital musician and dance club DJ.  +
An outcast were fang, Kaydon has taken up the role of a mercenary, traveling from place to place, helping the locals in exchange for money. He seems to have embraced this world fully, rathern than working to escape from it. Almost never seen outside of his transformed gnoll were fang form, he has a bit of a reputation for being very stern and serious, though people who get to know him will find he's actually just a sarcastic goofball who's doing everything he does because it's fun. He wields a massive two handed blade that most would struggle to even lift, often swinging it one handed, and also tends to keep a smaller one handed blade and shield on him for situations where the two hander would be unwieldy.  +
Kazuma Satou is a newly arrived Adventurer at the extreme starter level, and highly clueless about Elder Tale Online as a setting, beyond his general experience with videogames of a similar genre. He appears to be unusually underpowered for a newbie, possibly with a bugged character, and frequently accompanied by a blue-haired girl who is, despite being in advanced class, extremely useless. He has yet to make much of a reputation for himself, but he seems to be kind of shady, and there are rumors of him being some kind of pervert. Over all, he is trying to pursue the path of a Magic Swordsman, wielding a sword one-handed, with no shield, and using his other hand to cast spells. But his mediocre stats aren't helping him in that pursuit so far.  +
Having only used ETO to facilitate her business, Kirara's unfamiliarity with the finer points of the game kept her on the sidelines until recent history. The woman's gentle and soft-spoken demeanor makes her a strange addition to the members of Scale Emblem, her fawning manner endearing her to some while exasperating others. Rumors have it that she's a patient woman, a thinker who would prefer anything other than rushing into a fight.  +
The man, the myth, and the legend known as Kirito would first break into the VRMMO world with the groundbreaking Sword Art Online as one of the select few beta testers and among the fewest to reach the top levels of Aincrad Tower. A veteran of MMOs and VRMMOs since then, Kirito is among the many trapped in the newest VRMMO Elder Tale Online. With no options to escape except for one, Kirito applies his knowledge, his skill, and his will to free every single person trapped in this death game, by any and all means necessary. Well-known for being a solo player, Kirito will have to resort to challenges and dangers with the help of others if any of them have any hope of escaping Elder Tale Online with all pieces attached...even as that task grows more daunting day by day.  +
A fashionable Imp with gothic flair, Kita seems to be the epitome of your typical black mage. She wields dark elemental magic using elaborate hand gestures. Despite her allegiance to Scale Emblem, she doesn't seem particularly interested in pushing the tower. Instead, she heads up the Lost Adventurer Network, an unaffiliated volunteer group which does artistic missing person posters. Trapped along with her girlfriend, Jurou, the two are known to adventure together. She can sometimes be found strumming random riffs on a lute which sound oddly like melodies from the little known J-rock band Prophetic Underground.  +
Kind and forthcoming, Kite focuses wholeheartedly on releasing his friend, Orca, from an unending coma. He keeps himself reserved and well-mannered to strangers, though once you get to know him, he shows himself to be something of a goofball. His hobbies include model building and soccer, though ironically, he wasn't very interested in video-games until recently. Known for dual wielding, it's a rare sight to find him without his partner, Blackrose.  +
A dabbler to VRMMORPGs but a gaming veteran, Klein gives off the air of someone dependable in a pinch. He started playing Elder Tale Online shortly after launch to have a new game to play with his friends. Generally seen as a bit of a goofball to those that just met him, which isn't helped by his status among the Adventurers as the 'Pizza Guy' due to a famous line he said. He's always trying to find the best in a situation and look on the bright side, and is willing to aid his friends at the drop of a hat.  +
Agile, acrobatic, and adventurous. These are the "Three A's" which describe Kotono. Between her love of acrobatics and video games, she has always been a person with a passion for finding ways to have fun. She started with simple video games, then moved onto Fragment when she saw what it was all about, and found that it was quite the experience that put most video games to shame in her opinion. She loved how she was able to include her acrobatic skills in the game which made things more unique for her. Sometime after, when Elder Tale was released, she found herself becoming a player as soon as she could. Ever since then, it's not uncommon to see Kotono going on adventures and seeking out new places, demonstrating her acrobatic skills to those around her, or just finding a place to socialize and make new friends. That is, when her adventurous personality isn't getting her into trouble by going somewhere she shouldn't be.  +
Krusty is a natural leader, having led his guild to many victories. Krusty acts like gentleman - yet, while his nickname may claim him to be a Berserker, he's a brilliant leader - playing enemies against eachother.  +
Kuhn is very cheerful and optimistic, but has a strong sense of justice. Though he acts like a womanizer, he cares deeply for his friends. He dislikes putting others in danger but he respects the strength of people with strong personalities.  +
Kureba Gyaru, aka Clever Girl, aka CG, isn't a big name, nor much of a known quantity. Those on Elder Tale who do know of her likely have a vague memory of her name attached to incompetence, or else they've bought some vegetables from her. She's mostly known among ALF, where she's historically been something of an eternal recruit, never really learning to live up to her potential and continually hindering efforts with her ditziness, despite her genuine desire to escape the game. She seems to mean well, but rarely do well. Recent times have seen a renewed push on CG's part to actually be kind of useful beyond her obsession with the cute critters of the game world.  +
Coming out of nowhere, the person known as Kuroyukihime shows incredible skill and reaction times, and seems to be a driving force within the Scale Emblem Alliance in an attempt to push up the tower faster.  +
Kuroyuri named themself after the Black Lily, and before the Apocalypse tended towards Solo-Social. They enjoyed the companionship of other people, socially, but preferred to not be dependent on them. Prone to fits of melancholy, they were part of the player-group rescued from the Ruins of Ezzo, and still bears mental scars from that experience. As they have adapted to the new experience, they're embracing life in ETO fully, with designs on becoming a notable master crafter. As such, they mostly go adventuring in search of materials, and are always on the look-out for new lore or information on how to better their techniques. They tend to embrace the roleplay-nature of the game in most aspects, save for having a sibling (presumably out of game) of a different race and kingdom.  +
While not in the first wave of Nero Idols, 'Kyo Kirin' had been among the first to jump into Elder Tale Online, and had been on her way up to fair notoriety by the end of 2012 by streaming ETO and joining in on the game show-like net-idol culture. In all those months, she'd never broken character, cultivating a following as the cool big-sister type. Even now that her stream has probably been interrupted, she's keeping to the same, wise, caring, unfailingly helpful persona as if it were only natural. If anything, she's now more focused in conquering the world's secrets, whether she has to do it by exploring solo or by supporting others. Naturally social, she prefers the latter, and doesn't mind getting in someone else's business if it looks like she'd be of help to them.  +

Prior to the Apocalypse, L'Anya was nothing more than a university student who had treated Elder Tale Online as another means of extracurricular study for her classes, using it as an opportunity to get a closer look at architecture and potentially rub elbows with companies who might appreciate her work in the future. She had never stylized herself as an adventurer, a gatherer, a tradesman... she hadn't even considered herself a player, frankly. The kind of person one could find sequestered far away from the fields, walking amidst the streets or socializing in the cafes. Which is why the Apocalypse has been particularly difficult for her to manage. Elder Tale Online wasn't a game she intended to meaningfully interact with in the first place, much less actually live in; she's trying to get a handle on this world and her place in it even now.  +
A simple Orphanage owner in the City of Beginnings, Lady Ghost oversees a sizable building with loads of children - many of which have lost their parents.  +
The beloved Queen of Rosenheim. This Undine, in possession of a Relic that lets her swim through the air as if it were water, is considered a wonderful and magnanimous leader. She's known to have an obsession over cute things, and is a bit of a 'Love Freak'. She's concerned with the protection of her people most of all.  +
Lauren Sharpe, imp. There is not much to know, and that is due to her disinclination towards sharing her plans. One thing is known: the self-appointed Aesthete is concerned with seemingly trivial things. The colors of banners. Making things look "just right". Her input, when asked for, rarely generates few words; and those seem to be enough. Aesthetics conquers all, and Lauren seems quite content to let that inscrutable motive be her raison d'etre.  +
Leafa is upbeat and outgoing, she's very social and likes conversing with other people. While she pushes hard to get stronger she's just about as social when she's off the filed. Though she does have a temper and can get aggressive to those who chronically annoy her. In battle, she's a talent blade master who backs up her blade work with magic. She is also unaware of her cousin playing Elder Tale.  +
A wolf Cait Sith, Lelia is one of the troublesome pair of Lords that share a single seat and run the Tamers of Life dominion of The Ninetails Dominion. She's known for her cheerful and playful attitude, and obsession with Pekos.  +
A Salamander often found tinkering with odd contraptions. Self-styled as an inventor, Leona explores the crafting systems to find new ways to combine ordinary materials into helpful items or devices. Hungry for knowledge, Leona seeks understanding of the new world and how best she can adapt to it as well as how she can help others adapt. Logical and analytical, Leona dislikes relying on magic, though grasps it as a fundamental force of the world that deserves greater understanding. She generally does not discuss her life outside of Elder Tale, though seems to have been some sort of mechanic or architect who accepted the Apocalypse as a second chance. A reset from a prior life she seemed to find dissatisfying.  +
Somewhat of a difficult and taboo topic to some of the Eastal Free League, Li Gan is a magic researcher that lives on the edge of its kingdom. He's rarely seen in public, and tends to demand books and information in order to reveal anything. The difficulty of his presence largely comes from his identity as a Spriggan - and is as such loathed by many of the People of the Land.  +
Login you damned one's. Crush the won't you compromise. The noise comes we are ready to bow. What about the antidote for the jammed and hypnotized. Rend the lie that covers. Who's the real sucker now. Sakimidareta hana no you ni azayaka na itami daki. Tatazumu machi o nukete mayoi no serifu wa sute. Kaeranai koe yo hibike. We say Wow Wow Wow Wow.  +
Despite being a fan of games his whole life, Lin didn't get the chance to throw himself into one until recently. Shy and reserved in regular life, his online persona is the exact opposite. He welcomes everything with open arms and endless enthusiasm, feeling free to explore and experiment. In Elder Tale Online he imagines himself as a powerful wizard armed with ancient knowledge, dispensing secrets and overwhelming magical power as he pleases. To an experienced player, he's just a caster who picks what he does based on how cool it looks.  +
A wolf Cait Sith, Litka is one of the troublesome pair of Lords that share a single seat and run the Tamers of Life dominion of The Ninetails Dominion. She's known for her clingy and playful attitude, and obsession with sweets.  +
Llyn is a healer and Godfist of some renown with a hunger for life on the seas only outdone by her hunger for knowledge of the world in which she's trapped. She loves information, stories, and lore just about as much as she loves treasure and magic items. As an Undine, she has a love for the sea and was quite the Pirate before and after the Apocalypse. She's known for being chipper and very social as well and perhaps likes partying a bit too ... much. She's an adept healer and caster along with being a serviceable combatant when she has to be as well. She's also a surprisingly skilled ship captain. She also has a habit of ruin diving to sate her hunger for information.  +
As soon as Lunaris hit Elder Tale Online, she has always been the same, enthusiastically embracing her role as a Summoner and Monster Tamer with a flawless joy even when the Apocalypse hit. She didn't seem to care, carrying on with the same excited bluster she always had. In fact, if anything, it only made her more determined to love her life within the game. Usually found trying to tame new and adorable critters in the wilds no matter how dangerous, or visiting one of the various healers for the inevitable disagreement of said critter. Her bright attitude even in the face of failure has earned her the friendship of a travelling companion and pet, named Pecan, a black and silver furred vulpine with a slightly mischevious personality  +

Marlo has a rotten personality he has a hard time showing any form of gratitude. Worse he is very prone to looking at the world through a negative lense. His appearance doesn't help much either with his dark armour and skull breastplate which is he prone to wearing.  +
Megumin is a member of a notorious MMO addict clan known as the Crimson Demons. Like the rest of her extended family, she over-indulges in theatrical, chuunibyou-like behavior, roleplaying her character for dramatic effect. She may be an Arch Wizard, but she presently seems to have about as much magic as a potato at her disposal, relying mostly on secondary-aspects of magic, like using magic items for people to find their keys, or reading runes to help them with their great grandma's secret recipe. Those who know her from Elder Tale may recall her as the Crazy Explosion Girl who could only use one spell before being rendered useless, and frequently endangering her own party in the process.  +
Merek is a friendly person from the Guild of Grandeur, working to keep people safe, and to assist in the Merchant world of economy. Traveling a lot, the guys tries to make friends while he works as a merchant, as well as an alchemist in Westlande. He's known for wanting to do all he can to assist people in the New World which they are all brought into.  +
The mysterious purple furred Dire-Felin Were Fang named Mia is a rather common sight in The Ninetails Dominion, being the Lord of one of the Dominions: The Merchant Blades. She heads much of the training and is a prolific traveler. She appears to have a soft spot for 'curious' adventurers.  +
Michio is a Ki Master who seeks to wander the Lands looking for people who need help. He has both medical knowledge and alchemical knowledge, and believes in the duality of nature. Salt tastes great, but too much is bad for you. A snake's bite can kill you, but the venom from that same snake can be used to cure the wound. Apply pressure one way to a certain part of the body, and you will paralyze the nerve. Apply it differently and it will grant strength. This is Michio's philosophy. Michio seems to many people at first to be standoffish and quiet, but he will very rarely deny anyone aid if they sincerely need it. Given the opportunity and the right environment, Michio turns into quite a friendly person, almost like he's eager to come out of his shell but afraid to do so unless he feels really comfortable with those around him.  +
Leader to the Zorah Dukedom, also known as the Zorah Clan. Mifa is known as a kind, but sly Queen to her people. Coming from a long line of Undine royalty, she has a lot of wisdom to her. She's considered booksmart, yet adventurous.  +
Miho is an young Salamander, who is a skilled blacksmith on top of being a compeight fighter with bows, spears and katanas. Her passion is for making things, weapons, armour, mundane items. She seems to take great joy in her work. Often found near a forge if she can help it. She very chipper energeit and outgoing. She also known to have a bit too much of a love of gambling and often plays as hard as she works. She also been playing VR games for a long time and sees this whole situation is the ultimate adventure.  +
Once, Mikage largely spent her time away from crowded leveling areas and traveled with a guild that focused on exploration, diving into the furthest recesses of Yamato. However, after the Apocalypse she was thrust forward, joining Silver Sword and becoming renown for her battle prowess. Mikage is a Ranger with powerful storm magics who utilizes the aid of her animal companion, a white lynx named Rama. She travels the world along side Cyrus Frost, the alchemist who has become more than just her partner in recent months. She is known within the Duelist League for ranking highest in multiple tournaments. However, she doesn't seem to thrive on attention and still prefers exploration in small groups and avoiding crowds. Her Were Fang form is unknown to all but a rare few. Rumors have spread that she may a reclusive, but prominent Angelic Layer Deus from the Kanto region.  +
There is little known of the enigmatic Miko. But whenever she speaks, all others hold silent in her presence.  +
Mimiru was a prolific player of Fragment back in the day, and she's often Bear's partner in crime when it comes to exploring digital worlds. She had walked away after the ending of the incident within Fragment. Left her with many unanswered questions. Which she hopes to get here in this world they find themselves in now. She is charming quick-witted and generally reserved. She also has a hunger for the unknown and once more. She's generally a heavy melee combatant.  +
Misa Takayama has never been much of a gamer. But an accident left her injured for some time, during which she discovered Elder Tale and became enthralled by it. However, once she began her career as a kindergarten teacher she found herself drifting away from Elder Tale, focusing on her work. Fast forward several years, Misa is a lot more comfortable in her job. Invited to Elder Tale Online by an old friend, she decides to give it a try, once more diving into the virtual world. Misa is a very organized individual, which has translated into her gaming as she prefers to act as support and is often found helping to organize players in parties and guilds. Her focus on structure and her no-nonsense attitude have earned her a reputation akin to a military officer and the nickname of 'Major'.  +
?Mistral is a perky plucky healer who some might find a bit unbelievable for a healer but she is what she appears to be. She is friendly happy and helpful. She's also got a love of finding rare items. She fairly close to Kite often partying with him and his companions.  +
Miyako is a long-time gamer, having started with tabletop games before Fragment was released. They were heavily active on the game forums, and wrote several guides and compilations of lore. Elder Tale, with its new frontiers and deep lore, caught Miyako's attention quickly. They can be found almost anywhere there is something new to see or learn, frequently immersed in a book, or conversation with a Lander, or delving into an ancient ruin "just to see what's there". Never the best combatant, but talented with languages and puzzles, Miyako is more interested in small-party investigation than the big dungeon raids. And in singing odd American songs in whatever pub seems most interesting, much to the confusion of the audience.  +
Mizufa is a violent warrior, arrogant and ruthless. She both disdains and envies Adventurers, viewing them as freaks and zombies who cannot know the true pleasure of battle due to their ability to infinitely revive, but also expressing a desire to have that luxury so she could fight to her heart's content. But most importantly, she is a high ranking General in The Holy Empire Westelande.  +
Mizuki is a newbie adventurer who spends a lot of time in were fang form ("Eddga" dire cat-type), ready with high spirited-speeches about believing in yourself, cat puns, and one-liners -- as well as a Ninja's obligitory katars, daggers, or swords. But sometimes their words stumble and reveal a more quiet, calculating side, and knowledge of the game belying their chargen date.  +
An extremely serious and intellectual Imp woman, born to the Eastal Free League. She has a calm and composed attitude, as well as a natural sense of authority. She has trouble admitting when she is wrong, and would do anything to win. She doesn't shy away from applying some rather deplorable tactics in order to do so.  +
Moriko is a remarkably sweet imp who seems quite eager to make friends with everyone she meets. She is rather excitable, and has a strong love for exploring her surroundings and examining the surrounding plants. She doesn't seem to like combat very much, preferring to talk things out, hide, or run, and only fight as a last resort. She's been spending a lot more time socializing and exploring, which she finds much more fun.  +
N
Before The Apocalypse, Nami was a fairly infamous Nero Idol known for being a PKer and pirate. He and his crew, under the flag of the Kraken, attacked any vessel sailing the seas around Yamato, be they Lander or Adventurer. Nami was the only member of his crew online when the Dark Wave hit, and with his level reverted to the start he found himself a pirate without a crew. After a while, without an audience egging him on, Nami's conscience got the better of him. He realized exactly how vital sea-trade was to the well-being of his fellow adventurers, and so he plies his skills as a Waveblade towards protecting ships instead of attacking them.  +
Naniko is an Undine. She is uncomfortable living or staying anywhere not connected to water for long periods of time. She tries to avoid combat, often sneaking around, sometimes using magic to sneak harder. When combat is necessary, it's magic at range, often water-based magic, and a pair of slender daggers up close. Naniko's behavior best describes her as a collector of secrets. Secrets of items, secrets of code, secrets behind locks... She's joined the New World Alliance in the last few months, but isn't particularly bothered enough by any debates to take sides past the obvious fact that we're here now, focus on this life. She doesn't consider locks more than a challenge, and she will do her best to unlock boxes brought to her that might contain the secrets of this new world. She had a brief period of risky exploration a few months after apocalypse, but stopped after some close calls. She is not known to have died. Recently, she explores a lot more, but she's much more careful about it.  +
Not much is known about Naobi. But what is known is that he's a tough leader within The Divine Dragons, seeking out information wherever he can, and using the resources of the guild to drive the Alliance up the Aincrad Tower as fast as he can. He is the man with a plan, but he seems to be in a hurry.  +
Naotsugu Hasegawa is a Human Crusader who joined into Elder Tale Online when it dropped a year ago. He had played many other MMOs in the past, but ETO was his first Full-Dive VRMMORPG. Having found a group he enjoyed hanging with in Fragment, another MMO and one of the first to incorporate VR, one friend in that group invited him to join and also invited him to join the Debauchery Tea Party before it disbanded. Pervy and very open about it, but very loyal to his friends, he is a heavily requested member for all sorts of raids due to his skill as a Tank.  +
Most information on the creature Napellus Martina has been lost to time, a creature said to be from just after the Scrapped Princess wars, the ancient queen of the insects' brood has begun to swarm the surface. Not a particularly malicious monster, the Napellus Martina seems to more consider the death of adventurers or Landers to be little more than toenails or fingernails being trimmed, as if one of her own ants was killed. Napellus Martina demands control over the insectoids of the world, in particularly her ant brood that has been forced to come out of the depths of the desert in the Holy Empire Westlande. What was once a mild nuisiance suddenly becoming a major threat.  +
A Were Fang of the Devourer species that makes no effort to hide her disease ridden parent species. A wanderer and nomad that wanders the land looking for monsters of her kind to tame and breed. A summoner of spirits of the land and disease, this Plague Monk offers her abilities to those who aren't afraid of one who dabbles in the darker and disgusting side of things. Not a woman of malicious intent and overall rather friendly if a little more accepting of using the darker side of life.  +
Known for being a barkeep for the majority of their time within ETO Narii has built quite the reputation as something of a fixer. Her patronage and the liberal use of alcohol tends to always keep her in the know of who's who, and if there's anything going on in the area, though her fortune telling also helped in that case. In her early days players even mistook her for a lander, something she swiftly corrected. Those adventurers learned to use inspect rather quickly. The other thing a lot of players and even landers have quickly learnt is that Narii seems to greatly appreciate gifts given, and has to this day hoarded a practical treasure trove of unusual oddities and particularly shiny objects. It's said even the most trivial trinket, if thought out, will make her happily go out of her own way for the gifter, at least for that meeting. Not that anyone is wholely sure why, or why this rule apparently doesn't stretch to lowering the price of her alcohol.  +
A dungeon crawler and achievement hunter, Nariko decided early on during their ETO career that they'd be delving into all the content they could, beating all of it, and getting the proverbial 100 percent on Elder Tale Online... and then continue it with each DLC. That determined attitude reflects in most of their time in the game, grinding for levels and gear needed, hunting down training for skills required, but also teaching mechanics and showing newer players the best way to beat the same content! After all, dungeons, duties, and towers require team members and if they can't follow after you, it's better to take time and show them how to. Competitive, but in a friendly way, Nariko will help others out (in crafting, dungeon crawling, and dueling!) if they just ask. Just expect her to ask for payment in the form of coming on a dungeon run with them.  +
Nashetania is a Bun-Bun Cait Sith female with long flaxen hair, big red eyes, plump lips and a charming pale face. She was born to the Ninetails Dominion as one of the Lords' daughters - and got adopted by Jered Gan. In battle, she wears white armor, and wields a rapier with a jewel mounted on the grip. She's known to be a sweet and noble outgoing personality, though has a healthy wariness of strangers. She is the Cait Sith Hero.  +
Within Elder Tale Online, Nevarri is one of the up and coming explorers scouring the world for hidden secrets and new locations that nobody had ever been, and sharing her findings on NERO. On account of the fact that she spent more time exploring than fighting, her level has been relatively low, so she spent a lot of her exploration sprinting into higher level areas and avoiding monsters, if not accompanied by friends. Nevarri prefers not to talk about her life in the real world, citing that there's nothing to see in quite the literal sense due to a degenerative condition that rendered her blind by the age of 17, and that Elder Tale Online has allowed her to see again.  +
Nuke Usagimaru is half of the up and coming comedy duo New Creatures, with his partner Rachel. The day the Apocalypse happens they were on doing a live show from within Elder Tale Online. Nuke has taken the old saying of the show must go on and has continued with his show in this new world. A fairly skilled fighter in his own right he often will end up putting on shows of himself var various monsters solo for crowds. He tends to be very flashy and showy in general however seems to have some idea of where to draw the line in social interactions.  +
Nureha is the mysterious young guild master of Plant Hwyaden, a Fox-traited Cait-Sith whose appealing looks and humanitarian efforts melt even the coldest reserve. She genuinely cares for her people, offering them a guiding hand just as Plant Hwyaden offers a hand to this new world. Underneath her perpetual melancholy is a fiercely brilliant mind, though driven by resolve or some quiet, inner desperation is a matter of rumor. Originally a solo player, she still retains many of those habits even when surrounded by a crowd.  +
An old hand to MMORPGs, Nyanta is well known by veteran players in Elder Tale Online. Nyanta's player is rather unusual, as he insists on roleplaying his character as deeply as he can. Since the apocalypse, he's taken to honing this skill to further, integrating with the world's society. There are few who know just why he's pushed himself this far into the role of Nyanta, as he rarely speaks of the real world if he can help it.  +
O
When the Apocalypse first happened, Oniblade Kurosawa became one of the most miserable players to be around. Refusing to do quests or anything of the sort, all he did was mope near the Tower, his will to live seemingly drained as he made the assumption his body would die so he could too. One of the other players was his best friend, and he had joined the Odysseia Knights in an effort to help other players escape. One day he had disappeared completely, even off his friends list, and no one seemed able to find him. Ending his pity party and deciding to take up his fight, kurosawa sought out the Odysseia Knights and joined them as well, and now the rest is history.  +
A fairly new player to Elder Tale Online, Priestess is ready to learn and heal her friends and allies as best as she can! After a few rough early adventures where 'wanting to help the Landers' got her into trouble, she's finally studying under some skilled fellow Adventurers. Similarly, she's kind of taken the Lander known as Goblin Slayer under her wings - or perhaps he has taken her under her wings - it's hard to tell. She's a member of the Temple of Law in Mac Anu.  +
Osk is a high ranking Merchant of Kallamore Kingdom, who has a very broad portfolio. He's friendly to Adventurers, Crowned and Uncrowned.  +
The head of The Peko Army, one of the nine dominions of the Ninetails Dominion. A young man who has just recently inherited his father's business.  +
P
The mysterious imp member of the Council of Four, Pazuzu is known to be old, and rather fond of secrets. He is obsessed with the national security of the Eastal Free League, and is distrustful towards most Adventurers.  +
A relative unknown, Pela had been a solo player (except when playing with certain friends) prior to the Apocalypse. On the BBSes, of course, occasionally rumors of an extremely shy 'ninja maid' spread around. After the Apocalypse she has been more wont to be around people, trying to be a bit more social as she is cut off from her original friends who were not taken with her. A specialist in the use of 'subtle' arts, she's working on building her skills back up to what they were before, while finding her place in the new world.  +
Phaedra, an Undine Witch, joined the Silver Sword fairly recently. Not terribly much is known about her, just that she often goes on adventures and comes back laden with plants and herbs-- probably for her alchemical purposes! While she's kept to herself, she seems friendly enough. Just a little distant, rather than rude or standoffish.  +
A bit of a mystery, Phyllo seems to be particularly familiar with the ways of the world of Elder Tale Online. Some suspect him of being one of the Administrators. He rarely shows his face however.  +
The sort of player that shows up in one of two places: Wherever there's an interesting piece of loot waiting to be snatched up and used, or at the Aincrad tower. While half-focused on going for the ultimate goal of Aincrad's top, she calls herself as truly "free" in ETO; The type of person who wouldn't hesitate on PKing someone with the proper motivation and minor, minor moral bent. The type of Spriggian who's well-served for the race they chose: Deceitful, manipulative, a casual demeanor that hides a sadistic bloodknight who'll only pull back if things are wildly, wildly unfair. Rumors of her PK prolificities are wildly overstated...But they're true, if the other person starts the fight and fights to the end. With others, she's an information sharer: Scratch her back, she'll scratch yours. Within reason. However, that doesn't mean she really cares about what happens to others; Only those who worm their way into their heart get considered, and everyone else? Well, if the fight's good, then she'll focus on bringing them down. A dead party as a result? ...Well, who cares?  +
POLARIS, THE UNYIELDING NORTH STAR!! is an eternally-helmed knightly sort obsessed with building a legend, and just as obsessed with finding the fellow figures of that legend. Irrationally focused on drawing out the strength of those they challenge, Polaris can be antagonistic, obnoxious, and frequently insensitive, but ultimately they want to blaze a path of well-known heroism and to forge fellow heroes -- the narrative sort, not the lore sort. Even so, in practice, what that means is more like the Rival Dark Knight, harassing and blocking more traditional adventurers. They're quick to jump to any kind of opportunity to make trouble for anyone with a hint of idealism just minding their own business, just for the opportunity to see that trouble overcome to make them stronger, and while they aggressively pursue PvP, they never deliver a finishing blow and PK even if they find the opportunity -- it doesn't really fit the story. They're not even roleplaying, they're just... like that.  +
The leader of Thor Kingdom, and the head of Dol Dona. Reportedly a man who's lived for many centuries, and may even be as old as Gilgamesh of the Yamato region. He's supposedly trained many of the Thor Kingdom soldiers himself personally. He has a daughter named Filimøs Harrifenas, whom he regards with great respect.  +
A seemingly eternal noob, the Adventurer styling himself as Prince Rafferty spends his time swanning around Yamato and socialising, before fleeing at the first signs of a fight. Those who have any knowledge of the world of fashion will be likely to notice his resemblance to a real-world Tokyo-based American male model by the name of Rafferty Stewart. Friendly to all those he encounters, he's always quick to mention his girlfriend, Nena. Despite the considerable time he's spent trapped in the game, he appears to lack any awareness of the fact that Nena is a Lander.  +
Medical professionals need hobbies too, so sayeth Prophylaxis. Formerly somewhat famous in certain circles for occupying entire pages of the in-game marketplace with affordable and effective curatives and other sundry potions (and camping said pages in his spare-time to buy out competitors), Prophylaxis was also known by his few in-game friends as something of a hardcore roleplayer. Now, his carefully tailored persona and outward appearance is working against him, as suddenly the man behind the mask finds himself forced to the forefront. As it turns out, the shady Cait Sith medicine man was in fact something of a doctor in real life, too! Serious about his work and deeply concerned about the well-being of the trapped playerbase, and especially the bodies they've left behind, Prophylaxis dedicates himself to finding a way out of the game... But, it seems that the good doctor is growing to care for the ills and injuries of the so-called NPCs as well. Should the time come, will he be able to leave them to their fate...?  +
Proteus is an enigmatic wandering Imp who works her way through some of the strangest places in the world. The being called Proteus constantly seems to be working at discovering ruined places, obscure knowledge and lore, and the strangeness at the edges of the world. She seeks out information on how these things fit together, how they work to create the greater whole of the World... And then uses that knowledge and the inevitable gaps in the tumultous nature of the digital existence they share in order to expose deeper truths. Proteus often affects an ominous and mysterious stance, remaining distant from others, albeit friendly. While she is endlessly interested in other people's dreams and goals, she says little about her own or what she truly wants out of her life here. Similarly, she endlessly probes, often taking the role of Devil's Advocate in order to ensure that someone has thought through their positions and goals. Though one thing is for sure: Proteus is always interested in solving mysteries or puzzles. Where you find one, you will almost always find the other.  +
Pyxis is a Cait Sith errant craftsman. A blacksmith by trade, he's know to travel wherever new materials or techniques might be found. They favour a large sword as their weapon, although they're more likely to discuss it's craftmanship than draw it in battle. Pyxis stays mostly to themselves, but likes giving a hand where they can. A card or boardgame will frequently catch his attention, though.  +

Rachel is the greedy and money-obsessed other half of the popular comedy act New Creatures. She's a friendly sort but is prone to when not performing or working on acts. She tends to run off seeking money-making schemes. From hunting for treasure to aggressive market PVP Rachel tends to find herself on the losing end of the stick but it never sideways her for long, she always had another plan or the next thing she'll chase after when she fails. She isn't too put off with this situation as she's with her partner in comedy Nuke. In combat, she's a skilled melee fighter who comes off very much like the traditional rogue games past.  +
Ragna Glacierborne is a human warrior who has a distinct mastery of blade and sorcery. In combat, he uses both blade and spellcraft in battle and bears a more 'counterattack' philosophy, but calm and non-combative when away from combat. It should be stated that he's 'addicted to warfare'. Ragna was one of the beta players in Sword Art Online, having been a fan of MMOs since his real life is burdened by severe medical issues. He takes such experience into Elder Tale Online, where he has reunited with his brethren in the Sleeping Knights guild. He is a believer in wise and appropriate action -- Polite in peaceable assembly, cruel and unforgiving in combat.  +
Once a dedicated Player Killer of some notoriety with a reputation for ruthlessness, Raiza has since had a shift in demeanour - particularly since the onset of the Apocalypse. Nowadays, she seems to be much less interested in messing with other players and more interested in growing her power at the expense of non-player enemies. Still, as friendly as she is to other players nowadays, and as much as she may deny any accusations about her past by those who recognize her, she finds it hard to resist a chance to polish off the old skills - especially in a friendly duel...  +
Granddaughter to the Duke Serjiad Corwen of the Fourland Dukedom, Rayneshia is known as the 'pretty, but lazy' princess of the Dukedom. In general, she's regarded as unremarkable by most of the nobles of the Dukedom.  +
She is a well known idol in RL, with an online persona that she doesn't hide. It's a promotional tool that many others use, and she's no stranger. Because of the fans, her leveling up hasn't been very fast, what she got was mostly from fans protecting her (more like smothering her and then let her give the monster a poke for EXP). She is trained to sing well, something she uses both in game and RL for publicity and shows.  +
Replica is a Bun-Bun Cait Sith Nero Idol who announced her retirement only days before the Apocalypse due to an undisclosed, apparently terminal illness. While not hugely popular, she garnered a small cult following for her infectious enthusiasm over Elder Tale Online's more mundane details. She also gained a reputation for being outspokenly against PK as a "destructive" act, something that her viewers titled as "virtual conservationism". Despite this, her views and affiliations often made her the target of chuunibyou claims.  +
As soon as Rhi entered the game world, he took this new reality in stride. Even before the apocalypse that forced him to stay logged in, Rhi would spend hours upon hours, sometimes even days in game, enthusiastically immersing himself in the world with the freedom it provides. For those who know him, Rhi is known as a very polarized individual; in his human form is is very much a shy and meek individual who has difficulty communicating with people he isnt very close with. The complete opposite could be said for him when he is shifted into his Hell-Hound form however, giving him a blunt and incredibly outspoken personality. He tends to take a more direct approach in combat, willingly taking blows in the fray if it means sparing a blow to another. Outside of combat, he can often be seen plying his trade at making enchanted jewelry.  +
A former idol who joined Elder Tale Online at the behest of her parents, to get her mind off the real world. She uses this place as a way to get back to doing what she loved doing in the past before she was paralyzed by a computer virus as an idol to sing, dance and sometimes slay her way to a good mood. Her cheerful personality, uplifting spirit and great singing voice has lend her to be semi successful 'virual' idol, using her talents to keep parties going and keeping spirits up while they're here. Secretly, she doesn't want to return back to the real world, this virutal world gives her the freedom to be who she wants to be and the means to achieve it as well and won't hestitate to defend her want to stay here instead of her unfortunate place outside of the game.  +
An even-minded woman, Riveria Ljos Alf is a player who's adventured on many VRMMORPGs, including some of the famed old ones; a fact she tends to keep to herself, due to her age. She's been referred to as an 'old woman' before, and prefers to be considered to be young. She's a strict mentor to various Adventurers, and is not beyond favoring alternative solutions.  +
One of the three 'office folk' who decided to play together. A younger to middle aged gentleman with lactose intolerance, he used to work at the same news company as Dowafu and Erufu until recently. He joined Dowafu and Erefu in the hopes of keeping things even between the two of them. He's oft considered the lynchpin in the relationship between the two, and the reason that their friendship works. He's the straight man with a calculating mind and the desire to help. He joined Elder Tale Online with the other two in order to continue up that role - and to figure out some of the mysteries of the world! He never leaves his Were Fang form.  +
Rolonia is a short girl wearing heavy cow-themed armor and glasses, originating from the Holy Empire Westelande. She's friends with Adlet Mayer. Rolonia has a timid personality and is used to be blamed for her mistakes, so she apologizes constantly. She is very good-natured and likes to be able to help others no matter what. The problem is that being a chronic people-pleaser is bound to get her into trouble, and sure to get onto peoples' bad side.  +
An upbeat Knight and skilled Seaman of the Fourland Dukedom. Roreil works closely together with the Sumeragi clan and is one of the foremost explorers of recent years. He's know to be incredibly loyal, but also incredibly righteous to the point of it being annoying.  +
Rori has actually been in the game for awhile, but to those looking in she still seems pretty noobish and hasn't entirely grasped everything yet despite all the time shes invested. Her player is the type of person that doesn't mind taking her time with things so there hasn't ever been an sense of urgency to go out and grind or power-level her way to the top. Rori as a character is much more interested in making friends and meeting people and socialization always take precedence over raiding or hunting. The little isopod cait sith rolls all of her energy into being a tiny ball of sunshine to brighten everyone's day as much as she can and has been known to outright exhaust other players from being such a chatterbox after she opens up to them. Having such a big heart and an affinity towards monsters (who she swears need pets) it was an easy choice for her to take on the role of a summoner and monster trainer, but she's also ready to hold down the front lines in a fight to protect her friends with her defensive skill set if she needs to.  +
As far as anyone can tell, Rory Ejinn is a name being reused by one person across multiple games. They tend to all follow a similar style of play and the Cait Sith named Rory Ejinn at ETO is no exception. She tends to play casually, focusing more on her guild and what she can do to help other people than what she could do out in the world by herself. Grandeur is the perfect guild for her in that respects. A guild focused on improving the economic status of themselves and the world is right up her alley. That she makes a few coins on the side is an extra delight.  +
Rylen Corvus, Knight of the Peko Army, Protector of the Ninetails Dominion, Representative for Crescent Moon, Beastmaster, Teacher, and Performer. He is a Pooka of many roles, performing each with grace and charm. Once, Rylen had been a wanderer with only the clothes on his back and his peko companion. He was an acrobat in a traveling show, performing for coin and the entertainment of the masses. However, when strife came to Ninetails, he stepped up as a leader. A capable fighter, Rylen utilizes martial arts and powerful earth magics as his primary weapons, but he is equally as capable with words, getting the job done on and off the battlefield.  +
S
From a long line of Sylph rulers, Lady Sakuya is known to be even more in tune with nature than the Sylph Hero. One of the four leaders of the Council of Four within The Eastal Free League, it's often been wondered if she is secretly the Sylph Hero. She has a great deal of tactical foresight, which has led to many succesful raids against the monster nests around Fort Ouph.  +
Glasses on a Bunny? Wait- In the game.. Do you even /need/ glasses? Nevertheless, she wears them for the /flair/. The way they defy gravity and remain on her face while she move in and out of acrobatic feats that no human in the Real World- *Scoff* -Could do. She's constantly hopping from one subject to the next, never able to stay in one place for too long. Though... When asked about her life out of the game and what it was like, she /does/ pause slightly.  +
She doesn't talk about what she was 'before' and for the longest time just spent her time sinking herself into this new world after the Apocalypse without any care for what might have been happening in the real world. She is doing her best to master the systems of her class and the world, and she never, ever calls it a 'game', to her it is simply her life now. One thing she is not is quiet, or subdued, she is loud, boisterous, and outgoing with a complete lack of fear when it comes to protecting the people of the land, prioritizing them over her fellow Adventurers if she has to make such a choice. She enjoys hunting monsters when she can, both to save the People of the Land from their depredations and so she can gain rare materials and learn more about her new home.  +
A gentle-natured young Cait Sith (Wolf) woman with a proclivity for herbology, cooking, healing arts and music. Sassaral abhors conflict and goes out of her way to avoid it, though she can defend herself suitably by way of speed and stealth. She is most often seen tending public gardens and wild greenspaces, content in her own company but always offering her aide and compassion to those who might need it. When the mood catches her, Sassaral loves exploring.. but common sense keeps her from wandering into places where grievous harm could come to her. She is a profoundly loving, nurturing being with a passion for music.  +
Taro was quite pleased that the name Schneider was available; Bastard is apparently far enough out of currency that no other fan had grabbed it first. Dark Schneider is a force to be reckoned with, a powerful sorcerer with intensity and poise, at once suave and deliberate, never hesitating to take whatever action he feels is necessary. Taro wasn't able to build the character exactly, but he's tried to capture the spirit of the wizard. He's new to online gaming, his dad didn't let him play at home, but now that he's off at college, he's free to play to his heart's content. Turns out that he got more than he bargained for in Elder Tale Online.  +
Seliana is one of the founders of the Cult of the Lost. Known for her somewhat dismal outlook and gloomy disposition. In the past her fatalistic attitude caused her to disregard danger or even embrace it and led to her death several times. Recently she seems to have a more reserved approach to her new life. There are long stretches of time where individuals seem to be unable to contact her - her chimlink seeming to be muted. She is also known to like fancy dresses and her mysterious colour changing eyes appear to have a knack for both appraisal and divination.  +
Duke Serjiad is one of the four ruling leaders of the Fourland Dukedom. His dukedom is made up of his daughters, Langrissa and Saraliya Corwen. Saraliya's husband, Feynail. And Saraliya's offspring, Risselthea, Rayneshia, and Iselus. Duke Serjiad is an old king that is late in his seventies, and is noted to be remarkably open-minded when it comes to the Adventurers and former treaties. The Duke is popular with his denizens, even if the complaint tends to be that he is too soft-hearted at times.  +
Having only recently joined the Scale Emblem Alliance, this spell caster has up to this point been content to stay to the background. Most people wouldn't recognize this human from the dungeons or from being deep out in the field, usually getting by from blending into large group events, or simple tasks done around Dun Loireag. Due to his frequency at the local bars, the magic user sometimes has even been confused as a pre-programmed bar patron. The few people who have talked tohim be able to say he is casually sociable, nice, polite, all that stuff as long as he was sober. As the night fades on and the drink count goes on his personality sinks into the bottle and it's like talking ta different person.  +
Not much is known about Shaskur's previous life. Choosing to embrace her new life in Yamato she wishes to live life freely and integrate herself into the world as it exists now. She seems to enjoy the art and history of the People of the Land, but also doesn't seem to mind strategically misplacing daggers in either Lander or Player backs. She is quiet and reserved, but also highly competitive. She often is hunting for new darkness spells, dagger techniques, and stealth maneuvers.  +
A few months after the launch of ETO, Shenmi Jingren appeared out of nowhere and started a career as a stage magician (and discreet entertainer mingling with the clientele) in the gambling establishments of Kallamore. He still does, and when he's not in the middle of a performance, he's known to revel in the hedonistic pleasures offered by his Kingdom to the point of a suspected addiction; he leaves the dazzling scene of Lumina Cloth only for the occasional promotional tour, training journey to develop new routines, and for acquiring the creatures (be it monsters or animals) he needs for his shows.  +
Shin Heno grew up with heroes. As a child, he idolized those heroes, believing in the simple justice of their worlds. Elder Tale Online is the opportunity he always dreamed of. In Elder Tale, Shin has created for himself the makings of one of those heroes. His Armor Beetle Were Fang persona reflects the slick insect-armors of those black-and-white good-versus-evil TV shows, and the effect is only enhanced by his over-the-top poses and speeches, his martial arts, and his insistence on calling himself Masked Ranger Algol whenever he's transformed. Still, behind Shin is a quiet malaise, a darkness hidden behind the good-natured smile and insistence on a world that can be made better with a little hard work and a lot of will.  +
Before the apocalypse this is the guy who was always trying to be the hero. However what he was really known for was being the cowboy who got lost. From his outfit to his choice of two small handheld crossbows, even the way he talked often brought up comments of him trying to be a cowboy. Even his guild known as 'The Posse' made people groan at the cowboy theme. Now though it is said that his guild has been disbanded and is the self proclaimed "Sheriff" of Rosenheim. Working directly under the Queen's forces and going where he is told. If Julius Zagan Analet is the chivalrous hero of Rosenheim, then Li Shirin is the devoted Sheriff, ready to lay down his life in the name of peace.  +
A former strategist to the Debauchery Tea Party, Shiroe had already made a name for himself as a veteran Enchanter of the MMORPG Elder Tale Online from his days playing the Offline version. Held in high esteem for his in-game knowledge and using that knowledge inorder to create strategies that aided DTP reach all the way to the tenth floor of Aincrad. Since DTP dissolved though, Shiroe has been playing as a Mercenerary Player for different guilds, though refusing to join any as he waits for the new expansion to release.  +
Natsume has always felt right at home in Elder Tale Online. So much so that when the appocalypse hit, it did very little to change her overall 'plan' for the future. A desire to help the inhabitants with her alchemical concoctions and make life for them just a little bit easier in her own way. While not much for physical combat, she took up the role of acolyte to compliment her desire to see people return home safe from their adventures. After the appocalypse however, she became even more devoted to her alchemical research, and is currently attempting to work her alchemical methods into summoning rituals as well to ... strange and sometimes unpredictable effects.  +
Shiruba is a wolf Cait Sith that embodies the adventureous and adaptable spirit that has allowed the race to thrive so well. She may be an explorer at heart but she isn't afraid to use what she's learned to excel in combat. She utilizes a combination of archery skills and storm themed magic arts to hunt her quarries, both to remove the danger they pose to the world and to better learn about them to refine her tactics. As a commander of the Silver Swords Guild she is one prefering to lead by example, at the side of her allies on the field and standing fierce against the dangers in the world. Little surprise she has no interest in returning to her old mediocre life with her overbearing parents. Also proof that if there is a way to monetize something, or fund the larger endeavors of her friends, a Cait Sith will find it. Just because she enjoys the thrill of the hunt and the adventure in exploration doesn't mean she can't make some profit off of it.  +
On Earth, Yao Shan was a simple office drone with a boring, dead-end life. Even the escapist fantasy of a VRMMO turned out to be unsatisfying, as work/life commitments meant not spending enough time in the game making Shiyang powerful or noteworthy. Being sent to another world, starting back at level 1, was actually a blessing of sorts. It allowed Yao Shan to fully live as Shiyang, to devote time to gaining strength and making friends, and discarding any reminders of an old, unsatisfying life. Shiyang distrusts those who cling to that other world, or worse those seeking to return to it. She fights for the honour of the Palace Lands against all enemies, foreign or local, with seemingly no qualms about coming into conflict with those who share a previous life.  +
Showtime is a bit of an oddity. There is a sense that something has gone a bit wrong with him. He seems far too relaxed about everything. Find him sleeping in an out of the way place? That's perfectly normal for him. Even as a fairly risk adverse individual, he tends to put himself on the front lines more often than not. He has few notable accomplishments, except for perhaps being the foremost authority on the nappability of any location within the game itself. One might consider that if such a guide were written, that its thoroughness might betray another kind of adventuring accomplishment all together, but Showtime would aggressively shut down any notion. He fully intends to stay under the radar. Those that who actually meet with him and talk with him on a regular basis describe a fairly impish, if helpful personality, willing to at least give a token effort to address conflicts and problems. Thing is, he might be just as likely to duck out and try and find a place to laze about and watch the clouds, so few have verified this scurrilos rumor.  +
A young starting player who got a rough start as she got roped into joining the Debouchery Tea Party and had to witness the events that led to their breakup. Silica is a somewhat withdrawn girl who rather make friends than battle, and prefers to take her role as a supporter.  +
The Silver Knight's player is an old hand at this game and many that came before it. He played some of the oldest MMOPRPGS from before the dark times and is well known from his time in Fragment and Sword Art Online. He often looks into mysterious and strange happening in whatever games he plays. Seemingly seeking out the truth of something from his past in these things. He has a very personal-justice oriented personality. Yet he has seen a lot of conflicts and is known for her preference to use blade work over magic most of the time. It is also a very rare event for him to lift up his faceplate let alone remove his helmet in the company of others  +
A skilled VR Player who largely spent her time playing VR first person games in order to attempted to get over a personal trauma. She's only recently joined into Elder Tale Online in order to find the same solution amongst actual people, now that she's been desensitized to 'NPCs'. Her persona conceals a badly traumatised young woman who is looking for people to trust, but she overcompensates for her weakness and tries to lose herself in the persona of 'Sinon'- a frightfully real possibility in the world where memory loss is real.  +
Before the apocalypse, Skaranda Frostfang and Sakura Firefang were a well known pair of tanks that would lunge headfirst into any dungeon, with any number of people of any level, to make sure everyone could see the story of ETO and get the gear they needed. After 1/1/2013, Only Skaranda was present within the game no one could leave, as far as she knew. For a long while, this were-fang balding wandered the world of Elder Tale, hoping to find Sakura. Today, while she will occasionally put some time into her search, she has turned her attention to assisting the players within the world to go where they need to go, and fight the fights they need to win, in order to succeed at their various plans. Due to this, she found her way into the Crescent Moon guild, taking many players through the first floor of Aincrad to learn how to fight in an unforgiving world. Her welcoming demeanor and determined disposition made for a wonderful party leader that led many to victory, experience, and all-important loot. Away from the tower, she can now often be found on the front line where needed, regardless of the guild or alliance. She wants to protect people from the dangers of the Elder Tale Online world so they can decide what to do when the riddles of this game are finally solved.  +
Known for her vain and envious ways, Sophia Keren is well outspoken for her hatred of her former life. She asks to be referred to as 'Vampire Queen', though she lacks the actual species. Having thrown herself deeply into the world of Elder Tale Online, she has become a powerful magic user, who now uses her skills to lead part of the Uncrowned Rebellion in the Palace Lands.  +
Soujiro Seta, often called Souji by his friends, is a Human that styles himself after an Edo period Samurai. He is outwardly seen as a warm and kind soul that is protective of those close to him. By his own admission he isn't particularly bright, but provides insightful conclusions despite this. He is known well for his swordsmanship with a katana and strong counter offensives.  +
A Machina found at Tsushima Shrine - who seems to be unable to reconnect with her Hive Cluster. It seems largely non-hostile to Adventurers and Landers.  +
Often Robert, sometimes Bob, but never, ever, EVER SpritesHero, this middle-aged Spriggan is normally courteous and known to treat People of the Land with the polite, tragic warmth usually reserved for someone else's aged and ailing pet. Thus, while his manner may be kind and well-intentioned, it also touches on being good-naturedly condescending. His interactions with players, by contrast, are both more thoughtful and more reserved. It is quite clear that he is one of those who has not adapted well to being in Elder Tale Online. For all the wonders of the world around him, he rarely stops to enjoy them; should he do so it is invariably brief, and rapidly followed by a determination that smacks of guilt. His investigations into his surroundings are laser-focused on his goal of returning to the real world, and often others pay for this focus; he's hardly blind to the consequences of his actions, but he's certainly willing to tolerate a bit more collateral damage if it is necessary and does not seriously compromise his position.  +
Downtrodden and bitter about perceived powerlessness in real life, Stellar found solace in Elder Tale Online. Here, she could be powerful. Not have to obey anyone's rules but her own. Lord over others the way people lorded over her player in real life. Stellar viewed the Apocalypse as a salvation- a reset button. A chance to leave behind the world where her player is beaten down and can't do anything about it and embrace a life where she can be what her player always wished to be and never could achieve- a Boss. She pursues power recklessly in order to achieve this end, often without fear of consequence. A bit of a selfish prick, her primary philosophy is "look out for #1", although she will help others and work in teams if she feels like it will benefit her personally to do so. She doesn't have many friends because of her somewhat abrasive personality, but tends to value the ones who can put up with her all the more because of it.  +
Strawberry is a mouse cait sith with a deep love of sleeping and eating, and doing things in service of those two things. She is very much a reluctant adventurer, who has basically broken the snooze button on her call to adventure. She does have a thing for nature and pretty places, and if she can be promised a place being good for picnicking or napping the little mouse can generally make it there....probably.  +
Once upon a time, Subaru was the well known leader of the Crimson Knights on the game 'Fragment'. After it blew up due to internal strife, and a lot of growing up, she's back to check out Elder Tale Online with her friends - and has slowly been building a new place with those friends; Moon Tree.  +
The bold leader of the Sumaragi Dukedom, also sometimes referred to as the Sumaragi Clan. The Undine leader is a bit of a hothead, who is all too quick to accept a challenge when thrown his way. His Dukedom is managed in a more militant manner, and is often the first to show up to arena battles being held for Landers. Regardless of his hotheaded attitude on the battlefield, his leadership is far more refined than people might realize. There's rumor that his naval army has never been bested, because he holds control over a legendary sea monster.  +
You know how some Werefangs just stay in one form? Not this one. With a positive delight in masks, disguises, and her Transformed state, she's absorbed more than a little of the trickster archetype the character was patterned over. While she's okay with the blade, she's known more as a smith than an adventurer. Talk to her about crafting, she'll sit and listen. Tell her about interesting things to find, she'll run with you. Anything else - well, how do you feel about dice?  +
Sunshine is quite the social butterfly, and can carry on lively conversation about most things--except for his life outside of the game. He's a common sight in taverns and other social hubs, where he plays music or offers his services as a messenger for tips. He's known to be interested in trading gossip about any number of subjects from guild squabbles to new zones to hushed secrets. He's among the first wave to visit the aforementioned new zones, quick to set up shop wherever 'the action is,' in his own words--he likes to be a part of it. He is a Charlatan, both in the sense of his class combination and in the sense of being a con-man; some players have accused him of using his gleaned knowledge to misrepresent his skill, in order to secure places in parties or raids. Despite this, he's never caused more damage than he could fix, and does seem to have a knack for escaping hostile situations by the skin of his teeth. There are some players who have good things to say--out in the wild, Sunshine is quick to lend a helping hand, contrary to his seemingly self-serving behavior in town.  +
The head of the Church of Law in Fourland, there is not much known about this religious leader - except for the great deal of respect she has earned within the Kingdom itself.  +
Syx is rather famous in the real world, having worked as a professional wrestler in the United States, Mexico and Japan. He's been in video games before, and his avatar in ETO looked almost the same as he did in the real world, save for being a Salamander. He hadn't really intended to get stuck in the game, it was just going to be something to do in his spare time, but now that he's stuck, he's going to use his extensive knowledge of fighting to unstick himself and break the game over his knee like it was an opponent's back. Focused on hand to hand combat, he forgoes weapons for his fists and feet, and he is loud, volatile and the type of person who won't back down from a challenge, regardless of the cost.  +
T
A small time Nero Idol, Tadaya was known primarily for her unflinchingly mellow personality when playing all sorts of obscure games and all the jank surrounding them. Even she could not avoid the hype surrounding Elder Tale Online forever, though, and curiosity has gotten the better of her as she's finally dove into this strange new world antler-helmet first. Her idea of producing content for her viewers isn't to just sit back and watch things unfold, though, but to instead explore the new world for her real world audience and making things more comfortable for her in-game audience.  +
A tall, loud and unapologetic man. Taggart Wallace is usually the first one into trouble and the last to limp out of it. He tends to appear at his own leisure and will wonder off just as quickly as he arrived if he looses interest in the situation. He has been liked to a mercenary due to his requirements of payment for any job or fight he's involved in. If you are looking for him however he can usually be found in a inn running up a tab.  +
Shortly after the apocalypse, Taiyo kept close to the main cities, not appearing to be very 'useful' to the warrior-centric adventurers at large. Now, making an effort to get her name out there, she prides herself on understanding the games mechanics and rules and how best to use them to protect her friends and allies, especially in the Scale Emblem Alliance, as they work to find a way out of this game and to get back home. She lives to support the more 'burly' sort as they clash with the game, and acts as 'law enforcement' when Landers try to get in their way. Her focus on magic, shields, and utility spells may make playing solo difficult, but with someone to act as a shield, she is a potent resource that prefers to act as 'healer' and 'buffer'.  +
The Gnome member of the Council of Four is a curmudgeony old man, as ought to be expected. It's also well known that he has a tendency of being gone from Fort Ouph for long periods of time in order to mingle with the common folk. One of the greatest Blacksmiths, he's often being requested by the Ninetails Dominion, but he's turned them down each and every time.  +
A Human Adventurer and accomplished adrenaline junkie, Bet Tanaka has been a player of Elder Tale Online since its inception and made a name for himself as an accomplished monster hunter and raider. Jovial and seemingly incapable of taking anything seriously, his chief concern seems to be living his life in Elder Tale Online to its fullest. He can usually be found hunting down the most challenging monsters and world events that ETO has to offer, both for the reward and--more often--the thrill.  +
Known to be a generous, friendly, and energetic individual, Tenix is a were fang who insists she was derived from a phoenix, but this is quite the self-declared bit of information. That aside, the avian individual uses a mix of fire magic and a large sword to combat her enemies and defend her allies. She was a true newbie when the apocalypse occurred, but since then has grinded hard to be able to provide for those she considers friends. She is known to be unrelenting when it comes to keeping her coin count high. On occasion she has also helped out players finding themselves at the bottom of the barrel, however, she does not tolerate begging. Should someone do this just once with her, they'll find themselves on her blacklist for quite some time.  +
Tenko is a samurai through and through. She prides herself on living to the code of bushido, and in doing so, maintains her honor no matter what situation she finds herself in. Now finding herself as a Ronin after the destruction of the Ezzo Empire, she has none the less done what she can to maintain her standing. She is a kitsune were fang, and prior to the apocalypse had been close to achieving her ninth tail, now reduced to three, she now has to work towards regaining her power. She is also very well known for always wearing her kitsune mask, be it in human form or transformed into her were fang style.  +
Tetra is an online personality known for pulling attention to her Nero content as a talented, if quirky, raid quality healer. A self-styled Idol and internet starlet, she's always ready to put herself over and try to garner attention for herself. But in contrast to all of her bluster she is an honest and earnestly helpful person who fails to live up to the bad reputation some aspiring celebrities cultivate. She may look like an undifferentiated cloud of pink and noise, but she's much more clever than she lets on.  +
Thalia Maxwell is a Nero who is rapidly gaining followers. Always dressed to catch the eye, along with her skills as a frontline combatant, she's exciting to watch. Always flirty and confident, she's never without a pithy remark or some good old fashioned sass. The question is, is this who she really is, or is she hiding something?  +
Not much is known about the Bandit King, other than that they are the unofficial king of the Ezzo Empire. Everything about this person is rumor, from their gender to their appearance. Yet, it is said that those who meet the Bandit King always know that they are in their presence. The one thing that is certain, is that the Bandit King is Spriggan.  +
Thinker is the former leader and founder of the Aincrad Liberation Front, who since transferred to the Divine Dragons where his skills were better suited to the escape from Eldertale. A calm general man who wishes to help those who he can, he is not afraid to fight but prefers to solve things by talking it out. The Divide dragons put this to great effect when dealing with other guilds and the people of the land. He is also known to be the owner of the online gaming site «MMO Today». When in combat he prefers to use his spear over any magic.  +
Silent and mysterious, Tian Lang is a canine Cait Sith from the Palace Lands. Their face is obscured by a wolfish mask and face paint which hides the details of their features. Most unusually, no one has ever heard them speak. Hand gestures, facial expressions, sign language, and writing are their primary means of communication. As a Blade Dancer, they fight with unusual agility, wielding a pair of wicked looking twin daggers. Tian Lang has shown themself to be social and protective of those close to them, with a fierce fighting spirit and a survivor's tenacity. Outside of combat, Tian Lang has a delicate and clever touch. They are most known for their skill with crafting weapons and small trinkets, enchanting them with effects to aid their fellow Adventurers.  +
No one knows where exactly the sharply dressed Were Fang amassed his pile of in game wealth, but it allowed him to spend nearly the first two years after the Apocalypse living a rather luxurious life. He could always be seen lounging around in taverns, or even occasionally wandering through the safer environments on the outskirts of the city. Though that money could only last him so long, as eventually his funds ran dry. After spending his entire time trapped in ETO avoiding any form of combat or gameplay, he was forced to engage in order to survive. Now he has taken to using his general smooth talking and social skills to try and get someplace in this world, biding his time until someone finds a way out of this accursed world.  +
Toulo Maynes is a tall and slender Undine woman. She's of dark blue skin and pale spots, and was born ot the Fourland Dukedom as the daughter to one of the Dukes. Her personality is extremely calm and collected, and she has little interest in the ways of the nobles. She prefers to head out and see the sights and do her own things. Responsibility is something she prefers to avoid.  +
Tsukasa is a veteran player of VR games, having been involved in an incident in Fragment. After which they left gaming behind for the most part. Until recently when they received a mysterious email, promising answers about the incident. Seeking answers they once more logged into virtual worlds and joined many of their friends seeking answers. Tsukasa seems to be a bit of cold and aloof person but this generally is a front for if one gets to know them they are a fairly compassionate person. In combat, they are adept magic users using summons and spells to deal with the enemy.  +
U
Though some might call U.L.P. a corporate shill, and it is true in some regards, he is a capable adventurer in his own right. He operates in parties and participates in events. However, he is known to offer his services as a man who can get you in touch with the right things for a price. Usually selling equipment, specifically to make someone look more impressive for IRL meetings before the Apocolypse, he is now stuck with everyone else. He enjoys his time, currently, and has aligned himself with Plant Hwyaden, but like his race, it's hard to tell what his goals are. To his friends, he is a friendly person but also has a streak of competition. He is also well known for turning rivals into friends.  +
Lord Umoto Arte Marves, or just 'Lord Marves', is an old Pooka lord to the Salamander's Holy Empire Westelande. He deals with much of the mercantile and nobles in order to open the way for Flame Lord Eugene. He has a sneaky personality, and isn't particularly liked by most of the Salamanders. Even considered too weak to be amongst their upper echelons. Yet, he is one of the most well educated members of the kingdom, and has made himself indispensible. His attitude tends to be smarmy, and he is often seen wearing a lot of makeup on his face to protect himself from burning in the sands of Yamato.  +
A complete newbie who joined just in time for the Apocalypse, Uta had to work her way up from zero exposure to MMORPGs to knowing enough to survive in the world she's now trapped in as a musical kung-fu nurse. She's still trying hard to learn, and she clings to every bit of advice she receives from more experienced players, no matter whether it is good or bad. Her bouts of absent-mindedness are the stuff of legend, as is her peculiar approach to life: she alternates between a sort of childlike enthusiasm at discovering something new and a quiet, relaxed attitude, especially when waxing philosophical. Above all, however, she is bound by an unfaltering sense of duty and responsibility. She also won't stop petting the slimes.  +

Money makes the digital world go round, something that the merchant princes of the Ninetails Dominion are very aware of, and this adventurer is right along with them. Valfrum Fonias loves the game of economy and mercantile. He likes to have large coffers of coins and treasure in order to have control over whatever his eyes may fall upon. Creating deals within written ledgers of binding contracts and helping those with dreams to find the funds, by indebting them to his own personal whims of power. Valfrum's ambitions are large and perhaps even near impossible, but the Were Fang strides for them without letting any missteps slow him down. He depends on his charisma to work up the people, to turn them on his side. To lead them down the road where he needs them, in order to achieve what may be unthinkable. Yet, he knows all those who do only do so by the contract and by the promise of coin. There are few he believes in, even less he will trust, and it is sometimes a question if anyone can even trust the Trickster of the market games.  +
Known to have an eye for aesthetics and her ability to forge beautiful things, Valciya is a low-key, generous presence on the grid. She is not known for hastening into raids, but she isn't exactly afraid of them either. Though she enjoys the wilds, Valciya maintains a deep enjoyment of exploring towns and cities in particular, with all of their inherent cultures.  +
Relatively new to things, but has taken to it like a fish to water. Strongly driven but also fiercely independent, she's always looking to push herself further in the way she chooses - a symptom of constantly being pushed to become what others expected of her regardless of her own desires prior to her arrival. All that said, she's not one to turn a blind eye to those around her in need of help, even if said assistance is seemingly given begrudgingly and accompanied by grousing the entire time.  +
Vertina has always been a tomboy that enjoyed athletic and outdoor activities. Her favorites were Taekwondo and playing soccer, as the workouts of the former helped make her a powerful runner and kicker. Unfortunately a harsh accident damaged her legs, causing her to miss out on the prime of a competitive career. Now uses the virtual world as an oppritunity to chase some of the glory she missed due to the accident. Vertina is a fierce Martial Artist that focuses most of her style on devestating kick attacks, which also allows her to take advantage of her natural atheletic skills. A bit of a stubborn and hotheaded thrillseeker; she has little issue throwing herself towards tough situations because facing fear and overcoming danger is the only way to truly feel alive. Vertina is passonately competitive, in the manner of enjoying the thrill of competing with others in taking on challenges. Despite her confrontive and oft aggressive nature she still believes in upholding a sporting spirit, driven to achieve through her own hard work and fearless will.  +
